So here is the second installment to my fic trilogy, Pokemon New Generations. In this sequel its been five years since Ashian Trainer lost in the Kanto League and has now decided to leave his normal life and try and compete in the World Championship, but the road won't be easy as there's a lot of friends and new enemies that he'll have to face if he wants to fulfill his dream.

Don't worry about reading the prequel since most of the stuff you need to know will be explained in the fic itself.

Pokémon NG: The Pokémon World Championship

Chapter 1: The New Adventure Begins

The sound of rock music could be heard all throughout the town as well as the screaming teenagers that were cheering for the band that was coming out to play; the place was filled with people and they were preparing themselves for what was coming next. “All right then,” a teenager sighed, he was wearing a short sleeved black shirt with an orange shirt under it, and he had a messy black hair and was wearing a pair of blue jeans and black sneakers. “No biggie right,” he looked down and smiled at the Pikachu that was on the floor giving him a thumb up. “That doesn’t help much.” He sweat dropped.

“Ashian!” was all he could hear for miles; this brought a small smile to his face as he tried to calm down. He grabbed a guitar that was nearby and strapped it to his shoulder.

“Hey man you ready?” a red haired teenager wearing a green shirt with an eagle on it and a pair of black pants said getting in from outside. ‘The crowd’s waiting.”

“Yeah,” Ashian gave him a thumb up and the two got out, the crowd went wild as he soon as he ran out from the curtains and started waving. He turned to the rest of the band who were ready to start playing. “Are you ready to rock Pallet Town!” he yelled as the whole crowd cheered. “Okay then,”
Welcome to my life by Simple Plan

Do you ever feel like breaking down?
Do you ever feel out of place?
Like somehow you just don't belong
and no one understands you
Do you ever wanna runaway?
Do you lock yourself in your room?
With the radio on turned up so loud
That no one hears you screaming

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like
To be like me

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life

Do you wanna be somebody else?
Are you sick of feeling so left out?
Are you desperate to find something more?
Before your life is over
Are you stuck inside a world you hate?
Are you sick of everyone around?
With their big fake smiles and stupid lies
While deep inside you're bleeding

No you don't know what it's like
When nothing feels all right
You don't know what it's like
To be like me

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life

No one ever lied straight to your face
No one ever stabbed you in the back
You might think I'm happy but I'm not gonna be okay
Everybody always gave you what you wanted
Never had to work it was always there
You don't know what it's like, what it's like

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like (what it's like)

To be hurt
To feel lost
To be left out in the dark
To be kicked when you're down
To feel like you've been pushed around
To be on the edge of breaking down
And no one's there to save you
No you don't know what it's like
Welcome to my life

The crowd cheered and applauded while Ashian waved at them. “Ashian!” they all yelled in unison.

“Thank you, thank you, you’re too much,” Ashian laughed. In reality Ashian was sleeping under a tree while listening to that same song; this made him have a dream where he was singing. “Oh I’m not that good,” he chuckled then opened his eyes. “Damn it.”

“Smile,” a girl said as she took a picture of Ashian. “Caught you,” she girl chuckled she had a long brown hair and was wearing a red shirt with a pair of blue shorts. “Do you always do that,” she laughed sitting next to Ashian as she looked at the CD player he had on his lap.

“I know you’re supposed to take pictures for the year book, but why this one,” Ashian got up and tried to take the camera away from the girl; to no avail. “Come on Lyra give me that.”

“Come on, the school year’s ending, it’s good to have a reminder,” Lyra smiled mischievously.

“Whatever,” Ashian shrugged. “It’s good the year’s ending, because once I compete in the World Championship I don’t want anything to hold me back,” he nodded his head confidently. Ashian, a sixteen year old trainer living in Pallet Town. He’s been a trainer since he was ten and has gone through a lot since then, now he’s not just old enough but it’s the same year the prestigious Pokémon World Championship takes place. The preliminaries will be held in Viridian City and Ashian has been training to participate in them. “After all this time I can finally fulfill my dream of being the best trainer there is,” he laughed.

“You talk too much,” Lyra sweat dropped. “Are you sure you can even pass the qualifying test that’s gonna be held in Viridian City, I mean it is a big tournament and there are gonna be a lot of trainers in there.” She pointed out with a worried tone.

“There’s nothing to worry about Lyra, me and my Pokémon have this in the bag,” Ashian got up and gave her a thumb up. They heard a bell ring. “We better get back to class,” they both nodded and started running back.

“Yeah, wouldn’t want to get another detention on the last day,” Ashian laughed as he and Lyra started walking back to their high school. They were on a small grass field a few yards away from their actual high school, which was a big building made out of red bricks it had a clock on the top of the middle building.

“Yeah, you already have enough of those,” Lyra chuckled and followed Ashian. Lyra and Ashian had been hanging out a lot, the two met when they started High School; both of them got confused to where their classrooms were so they bonded with that; in just two years the pair have managed to make a friendship that most people took longer to make. Even though the two are opposites as well, Ashian been reckless and always hotheaded while Lyra is smart and calm all the time, and yet the two get along just great.

***

“Finally,” Ashian stretched as he and his friends got out of school after hearing the final bell; the three have gotten away from the students that were running off like crazy once they heard the bell; indeed it was awesome but watching so many people go crazy over it kinda got annoying. “Time to go home, they’re showing that live broadcast about the World Championships right?”

“Yep, 5:00 exactly,” Henry the red haired teenager that was in Ashian’s dream answered; Ashian and Henry have known each other since the two were eleven and started to travel around the world together; since Henry didn’t have any family he spent the last five years of his life living with Ashian and his mom in Pallet Town. “Unless you wanna watch something else you know,” Henry said in a sarcastic tone to see if Ashian would get mad at him.

“Are you kidding me!” Ashian exclaimed getting Henry to chuckle in victory; Ashian just fumed about how he wouldn’t missing and how important it was to him for about five minutes while Henry and Lyra waited for him to be done. “And that’s why I’m not gonna miss this broadcast.”

“Sure whatever,” Lyra and Henry both stated while rolling their eyes.

“Let’s just get going, if I’m gonna watch it with you guys I gotta go to work first,” Lyra pointed out and started walking, out of the three she was the only one that actually had a job, Henry spent most of the afternoon in either club activities or helping Professor Gary Oak with his research while Ashian either spent his day training or looking for someplace he could work at.

***

“I’m telling you, this tournament’s gonna be awesome,” Ashian was talking while eating a cheese burger at Pallet Town’s local dinner, Lyra worked there so he also spent some time there while he was free. “If I manage to defeat all this great trainers my dream will be fulfilled,” he mused while looking at the magazine that had a list of the best trainers that would compete in the World cup. “Members from the Elite 4, trainers that have become champions, it’s awesome.”

“Do the members of the Elite 4 have to participate in the qualifying rounds too though, because if that’s true then you got a lot going for you,” Lyra said while pouring some water on Ashian’s glass, she was wearing a white robe around her clothes. “It’ll be tough.”

“No, members of the Elite 4, or at least the ones that accepted to participate have a free pass, in this tournament only 2 members of each region accepted,” Ashian answered while shrugging; not figuring why the best of the best wouldn’t want to compete. “From Kanto and Johto there’s Will, Bruno and Karem, while Hoenn and Sinnoh have Drake, Glacia, Lucian and Flint.” He listed. “And get this all of the champions of each region are competing too…”

Ashian looked at the pictures of the champions and Elite 4. Looking briefly at Lucian for a sec, Lucian was the father of one of his old friends, her name was Alexa and she along with Ashian travelled through Kanto together faced a lot of danger while trying to hold on to their dreams, he hadn’t seen Alexa since a couple of years back when they attended the same Middle School for a while, but after that she left and he hadn’t seen or heard about her ever since.

Then he passed down to the champion section, ignoring most of the pictures and noticed only the Sinnoh Champion. Lucas Damon, the one trainer that managed to overthrow Cynthia and also the trainer that defeated him in the Kanto tournament; while also being revealed to be his half brother, in the picture he was wearing a long sleeve blue jacket opened up while showing a black shirt under it, he had a white scarf around his neck and a black pair of pants, last time Ashian saw him he was using a red beret but now he wasn’t this way showing his ruffled black hair.

“Hey Ashian, you look spaced out.” Ashian put his feet back on earth once he heard Lyra call him. “Seriously, you zone out more than my grandpa and he's 90 years old,” she scolded him while having her hands on her hips.

“Oh sorry, I was just thinking,” Ashian chuckled while scratching his head.

‘Yeah that’s what my grandpa says too,” she chuckled getting Ashian to frown at her. “Kidding,” she smiled cutely and started walking. “I better go attend the other costumers.” She said as she walked off.

“Could you bring me a double bacon cheese burger while you’re at it,” Ashian grinned happily, Lyra just turned back and with a frown on her face. “Or not,” Ashian turned away intimidated as Lyra went to another desk. He sighed and looked back at the magazine as he got up from the desk. ‘If I’m not gonna get seconds might as well go,” he got up from the desk and walked out of the dinner.

“It isn’t just members of the Elite 4 and champions, there’s a bunch of pretty powerful trainers competing too,” he turned the page. A lot of trainers were listed as some of the best, one of them being Ethan Gold a trainer from Johto who has been battling for six years and has collected a lot of badges around the world, in the picture he was wearing a long sleeved crimson red jacket, with a pair of gray pants and yellow sneakers, he also had a yellow and black hat on his forehead.

Then there was Brendan Maple from Hoenn, he has competed in a lot of tournaments and has won a lot of trophies, earning himself a great bounty for anyone that wants to be the best. In the picture he was wearing a black shirt with an orange half circle around the neck, he had a white beanie with a red bandanna around and was wearing a pair of black pants; he also had a pair of green gloves.

And then there were two. Jake Waterflower, a young trainer from Kanto who used to be one of Ashian’s biggest rivals while he was travelling. Jake was the son of Misty the Cerulean gymleader and he was a ferocious water trainer while also having a pretty balanced team of various types. Ashian and Jake hadn’t seen each other since Ashian defeated him in the semi finals of the Kanto league five years ago, but if something was sure was that Jake had gotten a lot stronger. In the picture Ashian was seeing Jake was wearing a navy blue shirt as well as a pair of blue pants, he like always had a long blond hair that most of the time covered his forehead.

And last but not least the golden girl, Evelyn Ketchum; also one of Ashian’s friends from he was travelling, coming from Hoenn and being one of the best trainers having taking on most of the Pokémon league and done extremely well in all of them, even managing to actually challenge the Elite 4; she was one of the most expected to win mostly because of the fact that she was Ash Ketchum’s daughter; and in fact she hated that people judged her skills based on that. In the picture she was wearing a white short sleeved jacket along with a blue shirt, she had a white hat on so you could barely see her face, she also had a red skirt and a green scarf around her neck.

“There’s a lot of strong trainers and a lot of friends in this tournament,” Ashian frowned a bit; if he really wanted to be the best he had to go up against a bunch of powerful trainers, and if that wasn’t enough he still wasn’t sure if he was powerful enough to actually be one of the participants. “I just have to try, this is my lifelong dream.” He told himself and started walking towards his house.

***

Everyone was moving around while inside Ashian’s house, besides the fact that Lyra hadn’t made it yet and that his mom just came home from work; while Henry got back from club activities, Ashian was about to explode from all the noise; that and the fact he couldn’t wait for the broadcast to begin. “Could everyone calm the hell down and let me focus!” he exclaimed getting Henry and his mom to look at him. His mom, Cindy was a tall woman in her late thirties, she had a long lush brown hair that reached her waist, and she had a beautiful white skin along with a pair of blue eyes. At the moment she was wearing a business jacket along with a crimson skirt. Ashian’s mom was the owner of her own clothing store in Pallet Town and she normally went out wearing outfits she made herself.

“I’m sorry Ashy I know you’re excited about this but I have to go change and all,” she stated and started walking upstairs. “I wouldn’t hurt you to be less rude either you know I am your mother,” she frowned at him and went upstairs.

"She’s so grouchy,” Ashian frowned while crossing his legs on the couch; Henry sat next to him holding a bowl full of popcorn.

“Don’t be like that man, the broadcast hasn’t even started so don’t burst a blood vessel,” Henry chuckled and turned the TV on to quickly put on the channel where the broadcast would be held. Then the doorbell rang. “Let me guess who that is,” Henry looked at Ashian with a smug on his face.

"Oh shut it, we’re just friends,” Ashian punched him lightly on the shoulder and went to open the door. “Hey, where were you?” he asked Lyra without a care in his voice after opening the door.

“I had to attend to some things, did the program start already?” Lyra asked as she walked in and took off her shoes. “Oh, I brought you this,” she took out a paper wrapped burger. “You said you wanted it right, well here it is double bacon cheese burger just like you wanted,” she smiled while raising her finger.

“Oh, thanks really,” Ashian gave her his own smile while blushing a bit; even though he rarely noticed Lyra was really cute when she smiled which in turn made her cute most of the time.

“Hey love birds, the show’s about to start.” Henry called out from the living room.

“Awesome!” Ashian exclaimed before jumping on the couch making Henry bounce on it.

After Cindy got down and Lyra sat down they all prepared to watch the broadcast as it started. The TV shifted to a small live show like set a woman wearing a red dress with long red hair and a pair of round glasses appeared. “Well hello everyone and welcome to Poke News, where we give you the insight on the latest scoop of the Pokémon World,” the woman waved while Ashian and his friends just frowned waiting for the actual subject to be touched.

“We’re here today with the president of the Pokémon Association, Mr. Goodshow.” The woman turned the camera to an old man on a wheelchair, the man had a long white beard along with a white mustache, his body was thin and he looked really old but still had some life left in him. “It’s nice to have you here Mr. Goodshow.”

“Why thank you Sally, it’s good to be here,” the old man answered rather slowly.

“As you all know we have invited Mr. Goodshow to explain the rules of the Pokémon World Championships that will officially started tomorrow,” Sally said after turning to look at the screen, her voice getting a little higher.

“Actually, I thought I would give a chance to the future president to do it, as you can see I don’t have much energy left at my age,” the old man laughed to a extent. “After this tournament I will be resigning after all this years, but I can’t complain.”

“Oh, that’s too bad, so who is the next person in line to be the president of the Pokémon Association?” Sally asked.

“A person I’ve known for a long time, and someone I’ve watched grow since he was as young as any starting trainer,” the man turned to his right and so did the camera, Ashian gasped when he looked at the person that had just sat down on the other couch, wearing a black short sleeved jacket and a pair of jeans kind of like Ashian’s with long and spiky black hair and a rather tanned skin along with two Z marks on both sides of his face. “Ash Ketchum has just been assigned to be the new president of the Pokémon Association.” Mr. Goodshow smiled while everyone else clapped.

“No way,” Henry gasped.

Ashian just stared at the screen, there he was, his childhood hero; of course it’s not like Ashian hadn’t seen him on TV before but to know that the person he has admired all of his life would become the president of the Pokémon Association; it was still just too cool, and the even cooler thing was that Ashian actually knew the daughter of said person. “As you know I can’t be the president till after the tournament because I’ll be participating as well,” Ash stated getting everyone surprised. “I as the champ will be one of the many prices the winner gets and that is a battle against me.”

“Wow, now that’s something that’ll get the competition going,” Sally nodded her head in agreement.

“That’s right, so Ash, why don’t you explain the rules,” Mr. Goodshow patted Ash’s back getting him to stand up.

“Well as you all know.” Ash started explaining. “Tomorrow will begin the qualifying rounds all around the world for a period of three days, where only 512 candidates will pass on to the actual World Championships,” Ash nodded his head and turned to Mr. Goodshow. “We will then give the participants a period of three weeks to prepare and then meet in Sky City of the Oozora region where the World Championship will be held.

Sky City in Oozora Region, it wasn’t a very known region because of the fact that it didn’t have any gyms; what it was known for was the fact that it had advanced technology and had managed to come up with the perfect balance between science and nature. That and the fact the World Championships always took place there because Sky City had the bigger stadium in the world.

“Once the tournament starts there will be a total of 8 groups each of them composed of 4 people, where only two will pass to the finals these final 32 competitors will then face off and then the winner gets to battle me for the all time glory.” Ash grinned. “Of course even if you lose you’ll still be recognized as the winner of the tournament if you can settle for second place that is.”

Ashian took this as a challenge; in fact he thought that every trainer that was watching it thought of it that way; maybe that’s what Ash wanted, that way people would get pumped for the tournament. “So, now that that’s settled why don’t we move up to other matters about the tournament.” Ashian turned off the TV.

“Is that all, you’re not gonna listen to anymore?” Henry asked looking at Ashian who had gotten up.

“I’m not going to lose,” he said to himself clenching his fists, having found a new challenge in his life. “I’ll compete in the qualifying rounds tomorrow and I’ll win and then I’m taking on that tournament,” Ashian looked up at the roof and then at his friends and his mom. “Who’s with me?” he asked while smiling and raising his hand.

“You know I am bro,” Henry raised his hand.

“You’re my son, I have to support you,” Cindy nodded while raising her hand as they all turned to Lyra.

“You’re my friend Ashian, how can I say now,” Lyra unlike Henry and Cindy got up from her spot and stood next to Ashian while raising her hand. “I know you can do it.”

“Thanks,” Ashian grinned while chuckling. “Okay, go,” he threw his pokeball on the floor letting Pikachu come out; the yellow rat looked at its trainer with curiousity. “We have to start training buddy, all of our adventures have prepared us for this, now we gotta be ready,” he explained the Pikachu nodded and gave him a victory sign. “That’s what I like to hear,” Ashian grinned and gave him a thumb up.

***

Later that night Ashian was in his room playing with his guitar while sitting on his bed. He was looking up at the roof thinking about how the championship would be. “That’s the only thing you like almost as much as battling,” he turned to his door to see his mom looking at him she was wearing a green shirt along with a pair of blue jeans. “Nervous?’

“Yeah, maybe just a little,” Ashian chuckled and stopped playing. “It’s just that, this has been my dream ever since I was little, and now I actually have the chance to compete, I’m nervous and afraid that I might blow it,” Ashian looked down at his bed sheets.

“That’s normal, it is the biggest tournament there is Ashian, you have to be nervous,” his mom chuckled and sat next to him after Ashian moved a bit so that she could sit down. “I remember as if it was just yesterday when you were telling me that you wanted to compete in the World Championships and defeat Ash, at first I thought it was just something that you know any kid would imagine, but when I saw you fight in the Kanto League all those years back I knew you had it in you,” she smiled at him while stretching. “It’s nice for you to follow your dream; I wish I would’ve done that.” She sighed; Cindy wanted to be a great coordinator when she was young, but back then Kanto didn’t have any contest and her knowledge was little; there was also the fact that she could barely qualify to the Grand Festivals.

“Mom,” Ashian smiled and looked away. “I’ll win that tournament, for you and for dad, I know it was his dream too,” Ashian told her with a confident look on his face. Ashian’s dad Ryan aspired to become a Pokémon Master, but his adventures got cut short when he discovered he could control Aura; he drew away from his dream and decided to train his abilities he managed to balance his normal life along with his other one, but eventually it caught up to him and he had to leave his family; only to meet Ashian five years ago right before he was killed.

“Oh by the way, don’t mind the fact you’ll have to fight against your friends,” his mom pointed out after a while. “They wouldn’t want you to hold back,” she grinned before getting up and walking out of Ashian’s room.

“Yeah, I guess so,” Ashian chuckled and let himself fall on the bed.

***

“We’re finally here, stupid train took to long,” Ashian grunted as he ran out of the train he Henry and Lyra took from Pallet to Viridian. “Now, let’s go to the stadium fast, I have to sign up for the tournament,” he started running leaving his friends in awe.

“That’s just like him to just forget about us,” Lyra chuckled, she was wearing a blue jumper along with a red shirt, she also had a white hat on her head. ‘Let’s go, we wouldn’t want him to leave us behind,” she started following Ashian.

“Why are they so energetic all the time,” Henry sighed and followed.

“Was that?” A girl asked herself a few meters away, she had a long blond hair that went down to her waist, she was wearing a black shirt along with a pair of blue jeans; her eyes were hazel and her skin was in a beautiful white color. “I guess this qualifying tournament just got more interesting,” she smiled.

“Awesome,” Ashian gasped as he looked at all the people that were crowding around Viridian Park and the Viridian Stadium, there were stands of food and items all around the streets and everyone was either going into the stadium or checking out the sites. “This looks like a great place for a tournament.” Ashian grinned.

“Most of the people here are participants though you know,” Henry pointed out taking out a notepad. “Since every trainer over 15 in Kanto is competing then there’s a lot of people here, you have a lot of competition dude,” Henry nodded his head.

“Not forgetting that it’s really rare for someone under 18 to actually qualify, so you have a lot of pressure on you,” Lyra stated while raising her index finger. “Are you sure you can do it.”

“Of course I can, it’s like taking candy from a baby, now let’s go sign up,” Ashian started running over to one of the reception desks. “Only 64 trainers will pass, out of 4 groups, so I have to do my best,” Ashian clenched his fists in confidence. He got to the reception desk and looked at the lady wearing a blue dress like uniform. “Ashian Trainer please sign me up,” Ashian said as he wrote his name on the sheet.

“Okay,” the woman raised an eyebrow, since she was the one that was supposed to write his name on the sheet. “You’ll be in group 3 remember only 16 people will pass.” She explained giving Ashian a red colored pin with the number 3 on it.

“Okay,” Ashian nodded his head.

“Hey if you look at it, your last name’s more of a pun than a name,” Lyra chuckled getting Henry to nod his head in agreement.

“Shut it you to, don’t make fun of my name!” Ashian exclaimed while the three started arguing; good thing people minded their own business and just let them argue.

“Okay, just take this,” Lyra stopped talking before she put her hand in her pocket and took out a bracelet made out with ribbons of different colors. “Here, it’s a friendship bracelet, for good luck,” she smiled as she held out the bracelet to Ashian.

“Wow, thanks,” Ashian grabbed it and put on it on his wrist as he clenched his fist in confidence. “I’ll win for sure now that I have this, don’t worry,” he smiled and turned around to look at the stadium. “Okay then, let’s go.”

“The stadium has been divided into four sections so that all four groups can start their battles, so you won’t have to wait too long,” Henry pointed out as the trio walked into the stadium.

“Welcome everyone to the qualifying rounds of the Pokémon World Championship!” a woman announced, she was wearing a pink combat shirt along with a pair of pink jeans; she had a long brown hair and was wearing a pair of headphones around her neck. “As you all know we will have a lot of battles in the next three days, due to this the stadium’s arena has been divided into four sections.” She looked down at the arena, there were four arenas each on one of the corners of the stadium.

Everyone was bolting out in cheers as they all waited for the battles start, everyone cheering for one trainer in specific; or more than one but the point was that people were just anxious for the tournament to begin. Ashian sighed in nervousness as he looked at everyone in his group, none of them seemed like trainers that’ll be too tough to defeat, but he still couldn’t let his confidence get the better of him.

“Group 3, at least we won’t have to fight each other,” Ashian turned around to look at the girl that was behind him. It was the same girl that was looking at them at the train station, except now she was wearing a yello pin with the number 4 on it. “Hey, how you been?’

“Do I know you?” Ashian asked looking at the girl from top to bottom; not remembering to have known any girls as cute as her, her long blond hair waving around as she moved, her slender figure along with great well toned hips and a C cup. “Because I would honestly remember you.”

“Apparently not you jerk!” the girl exclaimed making Ashian step back. “Come on, try to remember,” she fumed as Ashian started thinking; remembering seeing that fuming personality before.

“No way,” he gasped and stepped up once more. “Alexa, is that you really?” he asked his face turning to a smile.

“Took you long enough, did you get more retarded with age or something?” Alexa asked raising an eyebrow; she was never that good at starting a conversation without making someone feel bad.

“No it’s just that, you look different,” Ashian chuckled looking away while hoping she wouldn’t know what he was referring to.

Alexa pinpointed her eyes at him and then looked down and put her hand on her hips before turning back to Ashian. “Did you become more perverted too you pervert!’ she yelled grabbing Ashian and putting him in a choke hold.

“Yep that’s the Alexa I know…can’t breathe.” Ashian gasped as Alexa let him go; this made him fall to the floor. “Ouch, well can you blame me honestly,” he whined while trying to recover his breath. “For crap’s sake,” he got up from the floor.

“Sorry, I’m still a bit jumpy,” Alexa chuckled innocently. “I’m psyched that we both made it to the World Championships, it’s just awesome.” She laughed while looking at everyone in the room. “There’s even more people in more rooms, do you think we’re up for this.”

“Of course, why wouldn’t we,” Ashian smiled; in reality he wasn’t sure of himself either, but he didn’t want to let himself down by thinking he couldn’t win.

“You’re so not convincing,” Alexa rolled her eyes; she knew Ashian all too well and knew just when he was trying to make himself look cool. “Let’s just do our best,” she looked at Ashian’s wrist where Lyra’s friendship bracelet was. “And what might this be,” she grabbed his hand to look at the bracelet. “Oh I get it, your girlfriend gave you this, you sly dog,” she grinned.

“No, it’s nothing really,” Ashian took his wrist away from Alexa. “It’s a gift from a friend, that’s all,” he blushed while looking away.

“A friend that just happens to be a girl, and just happens to make you blush when she’s mentioned, someone has a crush,” she chuckled; in part she just enjoyed to tease Ashian all the time. She looked around the room as all the trainers were getting ready for their battles to begin. “The battles of the first day will all be one on one; do you know which Pokémon to use?”

“Yeah, I’m gonna use one of my newest Pokémon,” Ashian nodded his head. “It’ll shock you.”

“And now, the first four battles will begin everyone,” the woman’s voice was heard through the intercoms that were in the room. “In the first arena we’ll have Mark Rogers against Reijji Ishiga, in the second it’ll be a battle between Silver Geo against Millie Doorsen, then we’ll have Ashian Trainer against Block Bison.” Ashian lost focus of what the woman was saying after that; not caring after hearing his name.

“You’re on the first match of the third group, you ready?” Alexa asked, Ashian turned to look at her and nodded with a smile.

“More than ever,” he answered and got up. “Wish me luck,” he started walking out of the room and into the hall that led to the arena.

“I can’t believe Ashian’s battle is one of the first ones,” Lyra gasped as she looked at all the trainers coming out to battle. “I hope he wins, then it’ll be so cool,” she said almost jumping from the excitement.

“Yeah, although, it’ll be a one on one so Ashian has to watch his back and make sure his opponent doesn’t get any good shots,” Henry explained while scratching his chin; while Lyra was excited Henry was worried; losing a battle in the qualifying would mean losing the tournament before it even began; which is not something he would want to see happening to his friend.

Ashian looked around at everyone that had already gotten to their respective arenas. He looked at a kid that was standing in the second arena, he looked around Ashian’s age and had a long red hair; he was wearing a long sleeved black jacket with a pair of black gloves, he also had a pair of silver like pants and black sneakers. The boy looked at him with his deep black eyes that practically scared Ashian. “There are some creepy participants as well,” he said mostly to himself.

“Hey are you talking to me,” he looked at the man standing in front of him, a big muscular man wearing a fur coat opened up revealing his well tone muscles, he had a pair of big muscle arms and was wearing a pair of fur jeans, and he had a spiky brown hair and a face full of anger. “Because I don’t like those kinds of comments.”

“No, it wasn’t with you,” Ashian chuckled nervously; even though the guy looked pretty creepy himself, but he knew that saying it would probably get him a beating of the human kind. *Why do I always get the muscle heads,* Ashian he thought while also frowning on the outside.

“Anyways, I’m Block and I hope you’re ready to lose you puny kid.” Block grinned as he looked at Ashian. “Go Nidoking!” he threw a pokeball on the field as a Nidoking came out stretching its arms and roaring in rage.

“Go Ashian, you can beat him!” Lyra cheered from the stands. Meanwhile Alexa was watching the battle from the locker room as the screen of the TV was split into four.

“Come on Ashian,” she said with a worried look on her face.

“A Nidoking, you’re so predictable this is why I hate being paired up with muscle heads,” Ashian shook his head in annoyance, getting Block to glare at him.

‘What do you mean by that!?” Block exclaimed getting even more enraged from Ashian’s comment.

“A muscle head using a muscle head Pokémon, it’s so predictable,” Ashian shrugged and took out a pokeball.

“Are you calling me predictable?” Block asked clenching his fists.

“I just said it twice you idiot!” Ashian yelled waving his arms around as everyone in the stadium focused on him. “I’ll show you, mind over body always wins, go Snorlax!’ Ashian sent out a Snorlax into the field.

“Aren’t you using a muscle head Pokémon as well?” Block asked as he pointed at Snorlax who was scratching its head.

‘Don’t compared Snorlax to Nidoking, Snorlax are really smart creatures, if they were less lazy and cared about more than just food they’ll be one of the smartest species of Pokémon there are,” Ashian pointed out while waving his finger. “I like Snorlax because of that reason because it reminds me of myself in a way,” Ashian smiled; true, Ashian was always hotheaded, reckless and lazy to do any hard work, but when it came to battling there was a whole other side to him.

“Whatever, go Nidoking go and use Brick Break!” Block yelled as Nidoking started charging towards Snorlax, its fist glowing white as it prepared to punch the big Pokémon. Snorlax just stood there as the punch was absorbed by Snorlax’s stomach. ‘What?”

“Snorlax’s stomach is really hard to penetrate, if you hit its stomach most of your attacks will just be absorbed,” Ashian explained as Snorlax stretched his fist. “Now that you’re so close, go and use Mach Punch!” Snorlax’s fist glowed a bluish white as it punched Nidoking hard on its jaw making some bones shattered as the Pokémon fell down. Nidoking struggled to get up as it wiped some blood off of its mouth.

“Damn it,” Block grunted as Nidoking finished getting up. “Nidoking go and use Double Edge!” Nidoking started charging its body being surrounded by white energy.

“You too Snorlax,” Snorlax did the same thing as he and Nidoking crashed against each other, making a lot of noise as energy was poured out, now the battle was a mere push off, kind like a sumo wrestling match. “Just keep pushing Snorlax,” Ashian commanded as Snorlax stomped on the floor for leverage as he increased the strength on his push.

“What are you doing, keep it up Nidoking,” Block ordered as Nidoking just kept putting more strength.

“You fell for it,” Ashian chuckled. “Move aside Snorlax,” he threw his hand to the side and moved out himself as Snorlax jumped to the right making Nidoking run off at a great speed.

‘What is it?” Block asked in awe as he saw his Nidoking crashed with the wall and the people sitting there running away.

“You see, I had Snorlax do Double Edge because I knew that you’ll just keep pushing, once a lot of pressure is gathered on two bodies and one of those bodies let’s go the other one will lose control, it’s like when two people are pulling a rope and someone lets go and makes the other one fall off,” Ashian started explaining, making Lyra, Henry and Alexa who were watching smile happily as they saw their friend in the battle.

“Nidoking, get up,” Block ordered but once the cloud that had formed after Nidoking crashed with the wall disappeared, Nidoking was laying on the floor defeated. “Oh now,” Block frowned.

“We have our first winner, the winner of the battle in arena number 3 is Ashian Trainer and his Snorlax!’ the announcer yelled as everyone started cheering for Ashian.

“Awesome, we did it,” Ashian threw his right fist in the air as the friendship bracelet was shown to everyone. “And we did we’re one step closer,” Ashian turned around after returning Snorlax and started walking into the hallway. “But I know the rest of the battles won’t be this easy,” he muttered with a small worried look. “That I know for sure.”

End of Chapter one
Next Time: Mischief of a 17 year old girl
I know the battle was kind of sure and a little lame but they'll get better in the next chapter as the story moves along.

Proof read this. I'm not gonna list all of the mistakes but here is one -

He sweat drops

What on earth does this mean? "The sweat drops down his forehead"? Is that what you're trying to say I'm honestly not sure.

“Yeah, you already have too much of that,” Lyra chuckled and followed Ashian. Lyra and Ashian had been hanging out a lot, the two met when they started High School; both of them got confused to where their classrooms were so they bonded with that; in just two years the two have form a friendship that a lot of people take time to actually make. Even though the two are opposites as well, Ashian been reckless and always hotheaded while Lyra is smart and calm all the time, and yet the two get along just great.

Lots of mistakes in this passage. What Lyra says doesn't make sense - do you mean "You already get enough of those?"

"in just two years the two have form a friendship that a lot of people take time to actually make"

This sentence makes no sense. Do you mean "In just two years, the pair had managed to form a friendship that a most people took much longer to make"

"pair" is a better word to use because you've already used "two" once in that sentence.

"had" and "took" rather than "have" and "take" puts the sentence into the correct tense - you're writing in the past tense, so keep it that way.

"most people" sounds better than "a lot of people" - it's more quantifiable.

"take time to actually make" is just very strange phrasing. "took much longer to make" sounds a lot more like proper english.

A couple of hours later...

Don't say this in a story. It looks bad. If you're going to indicate that a couple of hours have passed, incorporate it into a sentence. For example:

"A couple of hours later, Ashian stretched as he and his friends got out of school after the final bell.

'Finally!'"

"Spent his day doing whatever he wanted" is a bit of a pointless sentence imo. I know, arguably, going to work etc. is not doing what you want but it's still a bit of a strange thing to say.

“From Kanto there’s and Johto there’s Will, Bruno and Karem, while Hoenn and Sinnoh have Drake, Glacia, Lucian and Flint.”

Wait - who accepted from Kanto? And aren't the Kanto and Johto Elite Four the same people anyway (I apologise if it's different in the anime, I'm not really familiar with it) Also, spell Karen correctly!

I'm guessing Lucas being Ashian's half brother is something that was revealed sensibly in the prequel to this? Also, what is Ashian's relation to Ash?

Is it just me or are a lot of Ashian's friends and companions the offspring of important people? That is one thing that I hate about future fics, when everyone relevant to the story is the descendant of an important character.

As there is very little chance that I'm going to read the prequel to this, I may as well ask - why is Ash's daughter from Hoenn? Is it his daughter with May?

Decide whether you're going to use double quotation marks or single and stick with it. It doesn't really matter which but don't chop and change.

I'm writing and reading at the same time so I might repeat things etc. but there really are a lot of silly mistakes in this - it is in desperate need of a proof read.

Well the TV show just got turned off and I'm cutting it there - I'll read the rest soon, maybe tomorrow - VM me if I take ages because I might have forgotten.

Anyway, I like the storyline, this makes for a good prologue and I really like the way Ashian seems to hero worship Ash. BTW I really don't like the name Ashian - why does he have that name? I suppose it's explained it the prequel, I just hope you have a good reason.

Wow, even though I reread it I still had a lot of things I didn't see, guess you can never stop re reading to make sure it's good enough.

Kanto and Johto are the same, they're not in the anime but I kind of made a fusion between the games and the anime so over the years they both became the same, I just made a mistake I didn't see till now sorry for that.

Ashian doesn't have any relation to Ash he only met his daughter but has never actually met him. Ashian and Lucas being half brothers it's explained in the prequel, actually I was planning on explaining that again here once Lucas makes his appearance.

Most of them are offprings of Ash's friends only the girls though since Lucian can't really be count as someone Ash spends a lot of time with, it really does get a little confusing even for me at some points.

Actually Evelyn isn't May's daughter, I've never actually revealed who her mother is since my fic is kind of ship neutral, if I do reveal it it'll probably be an original character. Since if you look back at the chapter one of the characters mentioned to compete in the championship already has May's last name (although Ashian doesn't know him or Ethan he was just reading both of those articles) To answer the question though, basically she's not May's daughter but Ash decided to move to Hoenn when Evelyn was young.

For some reason sometimes I type to fast and I only put one quotation or two, I just can't seem to stop doing it.

And for the last part, Ashian's name it's a very funny story, I had just started to get interests in writing, it was when I was 13 I wasn't too creative back then; so I just thought of combining Ash's name along with the name of Ashian's parents, so Ash, Cindy and Ryan gave me Ashian. I know even I know it's a stupid name but once I had it in my mind and put it down it just wouldn't get unstuck. It's a sucky name and was actually a running gag in the prequel as well as Ashian's last name. The only thing I like about it it's that is original and easy to remember (hardly)
