I know most of you guys are dub people and don't particularly care about seiyuu, or Japanese voice actors, but this is very exciting to me.

On March 3rd, the first Seiyuu Awards ceremony will be held. There are two nominations relevant to us, for the nominees are... well, nominated for their work on Pokemon:

Miki Shin'ichirou is nominated for Best Male Voice Actor In A Lead Role for his work as Kojirou, also known as James in the English dub.

And Toyoguchi Megumi is nominated for Best Female Voice Actress In A Supporting Role for her work as Hikari (localized name pending).

Chances for them winning? Slim to none. But I'm still excited.

Comments? Don't disappoint me, guys, I know you have stuff to say.
 
Um, cool, I suppose.

Hikari has only been around for 20 episodes so far, was her performance really that impressive in just that short time period? Doesn't her Seiyuu do voice work in Final Fantasy, I think?
 
Actually, it says that Miki Shin'ichirō has been nominated for his role as Ryūsei Date (リュウセイ・ダテ) in Super Robot Wars OG: Divine Wars (スーパーロボット大戦OG -ディバイン・ウォーズ-).

Other relevant nominations include Hayashibara Megumi (林原めぐみ) in Hayashibara Megumi's Heartful Station (林原めぐみのHeartful Station) for Best Personality.
 
...*makes a face* But that other person said he was nominated for-- well crap. This is why I have to learn how to read Japanese...

I'm pissed and disappointed now. And my hate for Hikari just increased.
 
Suzumiya Haruhi characters are nominated (directly) several times in each category...

No surprise there. One of most recognisable names in Pokemon voice cast, and seiyuu in general.

I don't see why you should hate a character because her Seiyuu got nominated for an award, sounds like a pretty lame reason for that.
