@Ludwig Beilschmidt; @Raccoon1997; @Miss Mew;

1. Generic forum rules.
2. As long as you don't curse, I don't care what you put.
3. You can control wild battles up until you throw a pokeball
4. Don't hog the spotlight. Let every character share their story.
5. There are only Kanto and Johto pokemon allowed.
6. You can ride larger pokemon to cut time depending on their speed.
7. If I am gone for more than two days, ask a fellow member to generate pokemon for you/start you off.
8. There are no levels, but "Around level #" to know how strong they are.
9. To encounter pokemon you have to put (encounter) at the end of your post and I or another roleplayer will randomly generate a pokemon for you to find. It can't be legendary but it might end up shiny or alternately colored.
10. Pokemon never forget moves unless you want them to, and there is infinite room for attacks
11. TM moves can be learned naturally, as all moves take 1 post to learn. Be fair with moves. A starting trainer will not have a charmander that knows flamethrower. Also try not to learn more than one move per island.
12. Pokeballs are infinite
13. Captures are determined by the other roleplayers, as they will decide if you are fair.
14. If you read these rules, please mention in your sign up how wild pokemon are encountered.

Lily yawned as she stretched and stepped off the boat that was taking her to the Orange Archipelago. She was very excited to be in this region and hopefully conquer the orange league! The girl began to walk towards the large lab that took the center of Valencia island. There were other trainers behind her, each of them would get a starter pokemon. She felt like someone she saw on the boat was missing though... She knocked on the lab and waited for an answer.

Nash followed Lily. Since the day his brother left to go on his journey, he had been kinda lonely. Today that would change. He'd always have his starter pokémon with him. But what pokémon was it gonna be? Nash didn't really care, as long as he could be friends with it.
When Nash arrived at the lab he saw Lily knocking on the door.
"Eeeuhm.. Hi." he said.

Calvin was at the back of the small group of Trainers, deeply focused. He really didn't feel like being with other people; he felt that it would be more people he'd end up being responsible for. Maybe if he got his Pokemon and left quick, he wouldn't have to worry about it. He edged his way to the front of the pack, looking impatient. "Please let our schedules be synced up at this point..." He growled, crossing his arms.

Evie was talking to a passenger about the starter Pokémon she wanted, Squirtle, right as she heard the ship's captain say over the intercom, "Excuse me, any passengers getting off for the Orange Islands, it is your LAST CALL to get off." Evie seemed to linger until the ship made a teeny tiny shift. She then dashed off of the boat. "Wow, this place is amazing! Maybe I should check out the beach a bit. I'm sure the professor would wait for me, after all!"

The professor opened the door and grinned at the new trainers that waited outside the door.
"Come in, come in!" She said, ushering them into her lab. She continued to bore them with talk about responsibility and pokedexes until she handed each trainer a small piece of technology, a Pokedex. Now you wish you had been listening to her, but you understood how it worked. After another 5 minutes of her boring you, she motioned with her hand to a machine with pokeballs in it.
"Choose one~" She clapped her hands happily.

--

Lily put the green pokedex in the bag she was carrying and slung it back over her shoulder. Shortly after she was shown to a machine where she would pick her pokemon.
"Can I choose.... This one?" She asked, grabbing the ball under the picture of a bulbasaur. Most pokemon on the island looked different than normal pokemon, and this Bulbasaur had red markings instead of green ones all over its blue body!

Calvin had paid attention to the Professor's words, believeing in the old proverb 'The advice most needed is the least heeded'. It also helped him be prepared for the journey. The responsibility part he ignored, though, since he knew about that already. Once Liliy had chosen hers, he put his Pokedex away, and stepped forward, clearing his throat.

"Excuse me everyone, I have decided to assist in the difficult decision making process my removing a factor from the equation." He spoke in a loud, authoritative tone. "To wit, the water-type, Squirtle." He grabbed the ball and showed it off. "Is there anyone here who would dispute my claim?"

Nash actually wanted the Squirtle, but he didn't want to have an argument about it. Besides, he didn't really care which pokémon he'd end up with.
"Then I'll go with this one." Nash said, while picking up the only pokéball that was left.
He was hoping he could go out and become friends with the Charmander as soon as possible. But he was waiting for the professor to give them permission to go. Besides, wasn't there another trainer who should be here today?

"Looks like this is it!" The professor exclaimed, putting the rest of the starter pokemon from the lab in a transfer machine that sent them to professor Oak.
"I had extra pokemon in case you wanted the same ones, but if this is it looks like you can go!" She told them and smiled. She mentioned that boat to the next island would leave in a few hours so they could explore the small island while they waited.

Nash was the first one to walk out of the lab. He followed the path until he found a bench.
"Charmander, come out."
Charmander looked around while Nash was studying his new pokémon. It was a little smaller than most Charmander, but other than that, it was just an ordinary pokémon. Yet Nash was very happy with it.
Suddenly Charmander jumped up and ran to a tree. Nash followed him.
"Charmander, what's wrong?"
"Char char!"
Charmander pointed at the tree. Nash looked up. And there it was.

OOC: This was how encountering worked right?

@Raccoon1997:
A wild paras wandered out of some brush and began to pick at the soil looking for mushrooms. It didn't notice Nash or Charmander.

"A Paras. Perfect!" Nash said. "Alright Charmander, get his attention with an ember attack!"
The Paras turned around, but it was too late to dodge the flames.
"Now use a scratch attack!"
The Paras got scared and seemed to try to escape as Charmander was sprinting right in its direction. Nash was smiling until he realized what the Paras was doing. Some sort of powder came out of its mushrooms.
"Charmander, get away from there!" Nash yelled, but Charmander couldn't move a muscle. The Paras had used a stun spore. Now it had a free hand. It hit Charmander with several scratch attacks.
"Return." Nash said. He was disappointed. He was sure they would win. The Paras crawled away. "It's okay, Charmander." Nash said, "I know we'll get there. This is the beginning of something amazing."

Calvin left the lab, holding Squirtle's Poke Ball in hand. He walked a bit, passing by Nash in time to see his Charmander get its tail flame handed to it by a Paras. Shaking his head in disbelief, he kept walking, thinking about how unprepared the boy was. He walked a bit more, and then he let out his Squirtle. He noticed that its shell was a bit more glossy than normal. He was also pleased that Squirtle's color matched his uniform.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Squirtle. I'm your new Trainer and partner." He said, kneeling down so he could talk to it. Squirtle seemed happy, and blew a few bubbles to show this. One hit Calvin's face, which displeased him. "In the future, I'm going to have to ask you to be more serious, especially in a battle." He scolded it. Squirtle looked disappointed, but nodded anyway. Calvin stood up and started walking back. Squirtle tagged along at his heels, matching his pace. He got back to Nash, and stopped in front of him. "You'll need this." He said, handing him a Paralyz Heal from his bag. "In the future, be prepared." He turned and walked off without awaiting a response.

Evie finally walked into the lab and said, "Where is everybody? They must've been late!" She looked at all three of the Pokéballs and said, "Can I have Squirtle?" Professor Ivy shook her head and said, "YOU'RE the late one, Miss Evie. Luckily, I have a very special backup Pokémon because I thought two people would want the same Pokémon-a Pikachu!" Professor Ivy hit a button and suddenly, a Pokéball came out of the center. Evie picked up the Pokéball and clutched it to her chest. She had a POKÉMON! She hugged Proffesor Ivy and ran off into the tall grass to catch a Pokémon with her new friend.

Lily released her Bulbasaur and introduced herself.
"I'm Lily~" She almost sang in a happy voice. Before the Bulbasaur had time to do anything she picked it up and hugged him tight. He was a bit uncomfortable, so he quickly user Vine Whip to grab onto a nearby tree and pull himself away. Lily frowned at him.
"Fine, no more hugs. Let's go!" She said excitedly, rushing out to meet the other trainers.

----

@Miss Mew:
A Sentret crawled out of a burrow and stood up on its tail to look for danger, it squeaked when it saw Evie.

( @Clef; Word of adviced, use a semicolon (;) when mentioning.))

As Calvin and Squirtle walked, they passed by Lily. Calvin gave a quick nod of acknowledgement. Squirtle waved happily to Lily and her Bulbasaur.

"Are you feeling better?" Nash asked Charmander.
"Char char!"
Charmander sounded happy.
"Good. Let's just take it easy until the boat leaves to the next island. There we'll start our training."
Charmander was okay with that. He liked playing as well as fighting.
Nash thought of the guy who gave him the paralyz heal.
"Who does that guy think he is? We've all just started our journey. He's nothing better than the rest of us. If that guy shows his face here again we'll show him, Charmander!"
Charmander nodded dubiously.

@Ludwig Beilschmidt;

"Hi there!" Lily waved and greeted the boy and his squirtle. Her Bulbasaur with the blood-red spots also seemed rather cheerful.
"Would you two mind having a battle?" She asked, "I saw how knowledgeable you are about pokemon back there so I didn't think my type advantage would be a problem..." She continued.

Nash saw the paralyz heal guy across the path. He was talking to one of the other starters. Nash overheard her challenging him for a battle.
"I guess watching battles is training too." he said to Charmander and he walked to the trainers. Charmander enthusiastically followed his trainer.

"Aha! A Sentret!" Evie looked at her Pokéball and threw it. "Go, Pikachu!" She said, "You'd be so much better with a nickname. And since your tail shows that you're a girl... How about Chuchu? I love the adventure stories about Kanto trainers!" Chuchu nodded with a smile. "Okay then... Use Thundershock!" Chuchu followed orders and wound up paralyzing the Sentret. She ordered Chuchu to deliver the final blow, and the Sentret fainted. Evie then noticed the rest of the group and ran over to them. She smiled and said, "Sorry I'm late!!! What did I miss?"

OOC: @Miss Mew; I believe the rules said that you could control wild pokémon battles until you throw a pokéball. @Clef; Maybe you could edit the very first post and put the rules in there.
