Pokemon Origins is a close adaption of the games that focused on Red in his quest to capture all 151 Pokemon, defeat all the gym leaders and Rocket-Dan in the process however he failed to capture Mew.

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl is considered to be the best saga in the main anime, Ash was basically semi-Red in this season, his maturity and skill as a trainer peaked during this saga, however though he came close, he ultimately failed to win the league.

I lost interest in the show after they removed May, although I loved how they made Paul's character as a rival. I hated how they finished up that series with Ash losing to a nub using nothing but Legendary Pokemon who hadn't even been seen once through the whole series. Team Rocket was too much of a joke/pest until they got revved up a bit during the BW series which was a lot more enjoyable than DP I think.

For Origins I've only seen the first episode. I'm kind of disappointed they no longer have that nostalgic voice for characters like Brock and Prof. Oak, but it does give it a fresh start feel.

I'm not sure I can actually pick, but I think I like Origins better so far.
 
Pokemon origins. I wasn't really interested in the Pokemon Diamond and Pearl series at all... to be fair I lost interest in the anime series after Advanced generation ended.

Maybe I should watch DP and see how I like it.
