I dont know if anyone remembers but in Season 1 Episode 13-Mystery at the Lighthouse
Ash catches a Krabby and is immediately teleported out of his hand to professor Oak's place because he had 6 pokemon's already,
But in Black and White the pokeballs just wont open/work till you go to a Pokemon center to deposit it or switch,Was just wondering why did they change this, its far easier to have it teleport then have to walk all the way to a pokemon center. Just want to know people's thought on this.

As much as i believe that it's easier to have it teleported, i do think that having to walk to a centre is much better. You then get to spend time and show that you do really want to keep this new Pokémon because you are willing as a trainer to walk far to deposite it. That's what i think :P

Teleporting out of nowhere is creepy. It makes you think Big Brother is watching you.

I think the depositing thing makes it more similar to the games, where you can deposit or withdraw Pokémon.

That same old episode included mention of doing the Pokemon swapping on the Pokedex itself rather than at a Pokemon Centre, something certainly very quickly changed. If the 6 Pokemon limit is going to exist in the anime, it's slightly more believable to have a locking mechanism than transporting Pokeballs out of nowhere.

Perhaps they redesigned the systems after the Porygon episode showed that it could have led to Pokemon being stolen in transit?

The whole 'teleporting out of nowhere' system seemed a bit weird to me, and also didn't make sense. If Poke Balls could be transported instantly to a regional professor, what's to stop trainers transporting injured Pokemon instantly to a Pokemon Center when injured? I much prefer the new system.

I prefer the teleporting method,I was thinking maybe it was a regional difference but why would that part of the technology be different from the rest and how does it know which/when to lock the pokeball.

I'm betting the writers just forgot about that part of an episode that came out nearly a decade and a half ago.

I agree with this, almost the first part of season 1 has some out of character or had things that are never done again, like ash falling in love with a girl, the charmander trainer that had more than 6 pokeballs and trading pokemon with the pokedex.

Although I think it had something to do with the fact that the show was being developed at the time, and they did'nt have anything solid yet.
