As was rumoured, the September 12th Nintendo Direct has delivered for Pokémon fans, with the announcement of a brand new Pokémon spin-off game developed by Koei Tecmo Games, Pokémon Pokopia, which will release on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

As of writing, only limited details are available about the game. Billed as a life simulation game, the Pokopia trailer features gameplay reminiscent of titles such as Dragon Quest Builders, Minecraft, and Animal Crossing. Players take on the role of a Ditto transformed into a human, who works to cultivate and shape the land into the perfect habitat for Pokémon.
