In the Nintendo Direct video presentation that aired earlier today, fans got their first look at new paid DLC for Pokémon Pokopia, which will release in three waves beginning in August this year alongside a free Version 2.0 update. The Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass is available for pre-purchase now on the Nintendo eShop.

The Version 2.0 update will introduce a brand new move for Ditto to use, Dive, which will allow players to expand their gameplay underwater. To learn Dive, players must have completed the important request Raise the environment level! in Bleak Beach, and have already learnt how to jump and how to use the move Surf.

Dive will be used extensively in the Part 1 of the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, which introduces Bubbly Basin, a new underwater town, together with a variety of new undersea dwelling Pokémon, new furniture items, and new outfits.

Parts 2 and 3 will release in late 2026 and in 2027 respectively. Part 2 will add additional new features and crafting recipes to help players further develop their towns, while Part 3 will add another new town together with more new gameplay features. No further details on the nature of these additions are available at this time.

All players who purchase the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass will be able to redeem a Ditto print recipe in-game which will allow them to craft dynamic Ditto print blocks and wallpaper. To claim this recipe, players should press the + Button while in-game to open the main menu and select Downloadable Content, then select Check Items, and then finally select Receive on the following screen.

Players who purchase the DLC by August 31st, 2027, will also receive a code for 30 rare Pokémetal ingots. This code will be sent to the email address connected to the Nintendo Account used to purchase the expansion, and then can be redeemed in-game using the Mystery Gifts feature. Codes will expire on September 30th, 2027.
