How many times have you pronounced a Pokemon's name wrong when first learning about it upon a new generation. I've done it tons of times, it would be nice to know I'm not alone.

Lugia - Lujia
Milotic - Millottic (like antartic)
Chimecho - Chimachoe
Giratina - Jiratina
Rayquaza - Rayquauza
Deoxys - Deoxies

Those are to name a few and I'm still not sure if I've gotten all 493 down yet. I'm waiting for Arcues.

Arceus= Ak-ree-us to me :)

And probably other Gen IVs, since their names are insane.

oh boy

Milotic - Mill ah tic
Illumise - ee loo meyes
Deoxys - first it was juck sis then it was Deoshis
Arceus - Arsee uhs (I think it's supposed to be Arkee uhs) but who can blaime me since lots of English words with ce have it as a soft ce
Groudon - Groundon
Rayquaza - Ray kwanzaa (and still do half the time although I try to do Rekkuza)
Kyogre - kyo gruh (now I just pronounce it as Kiye gore like my cousin does)

I still think Pigeot should have two pronunciations because the word pigeon isn't said as "pidge eon"

I pretty much had all of these. Mill-ah-tic, Groundon, Ray kwaza (no N. It's even spelled that way! Why would it be Raquayza?) and Kyo gruh. Also, Lu JI uh, and when I was really little, Zub-at.

I say "My-low-tick", cause that's how I heard 'em say it in the anime (I think...), but... that's just my two cents.

I've never figured out any true way to pronounce Probopass.

I pronounce it as "Pro - bo - pass". Pro as in professional, bo as in bowl and pass as in, well, pass. Eh, I'm pretty sure the anime guys pronounced Milotic as "My - low - tik" too.

Chimecho: Chym - choe or Chy - muh - choe?
Breloom: Bray - loom or Brae - loom?
Mesprit: Mi - sprit or Mes - prit?
Uxie: Eyuuk - see, Ook - see or You - see?
Azelf: Aye - zelf or Er - zelf?

I'm surprised you got Kyogre correct the first time. It took me long enough to find out, there were so many horrible variations of that pronunciation.

Kyogre is easy once you notice the word "ogre" in there.

There's a lot of debate about how to pronounce "Rayquaza". I tend to go with the dub pronunciation of "ray-KWAY-za" because it has the sound of "quasar" in there"

One I'm not sure about is Walrein. Is it "wal-RAIN" or "wal-REEN"?

I had a very hard time convincing my friend that Kyogre was not in fact pronounced Ky-o-gree. He still says Ray-kwah-za though. And Milotic? In the anime, I've heard Mile-OWE-tic, MILE-owe-tic, and Mile-OH-tic. The third one is "oh" as in "cough".

It's complicated stuff. My pronunciation is probably awful.

Lugia - Loo gee uh
Milotic - Mill ah tic
Chimecho - Chi (like the beginning of chimp) mek oh
Giratina - Guy ra tee na
Rayquaza - Ray kwah zah
Deoxys - Dee ocks iss
Togepi - Toe geh pee
Breloom - Bray loom
Mesprit - Mess prit
Uxie - uk see
Azelf - as elf
Arceus - are kee us
Illumise - ill ooh mize
Groudon - grow don
Kyogre - kai oh ger
Suicune - swee coon
Bellsprout - maid yew luk

I remember that I was going to watch this long thing advertising the second movie and was surprised and saddened at the hard G in Lugia. I'd been pronouncing it LOO-zhyuh (similar to the sport luge) and didn't want it to be LOO-ghee-uh because it reminded me of spit. D:

Others I used to pronounce incorrectly:
Rayquaza - ray-QWAH-zuh (though seriously, what does it have to do with quasars?)
Chimecho - CHIME-choh

Chimecho: Chym - choe or Chy - muh - choe?
Breloom: Bray - loom or Brae - loom?
Chime + echo.
Breh-LOOM, if I recall correctly.

Azelf: Aye - zelf or Er - zelf?
"Er"?

One I'm not sure about is Walrein. Is it "wal-RAIN" or "wal-REEN"?
WALL-rain.

I always pronounce Walerin "Wal-er-in" (Wal as in "whale"). Lugia- Lu-ji-a.
That was when I was still new to Pokemon, now I can do better (except for Walerin) =/

Lugia - Lu-GEE-uh iirc; emphasis might be on the first syllable
Milotic - MY-low-tick (haha wut)
Chimecho - Chim-EK-o
Giratina - Gir-uh-TIN-uh
Rayquaza - Ray-KWAY-zuh
Deoxys - Dee-OX-is
Breloom - BREH-loom
Mesprit - MEH-sprit
Uxie - YOUK-see
Azelf - A(short A)-zelf
Walrein - WALL-rain
Arceus - AR-see-us

These are all by PBR.

Funny that PBR used "Meh - sprit". I'd always pronounced it as "Mi - sprit", because of its possible name origin.

And wow, I had never noticed the 'echo' in Chimecho until now.
