Is it worth buying Pokemon Ranger? Does it get boring after you have circled just a few Pokemon? I just want to know everyones opinion before I buy the game, oh and is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon worth buying also?

Pokemon Ranger is very fun. It's rather short and linear, but in the end of the day, I couldn't put it down since it was so fun. Making it a point to get all the Pokemon on the Rangerdex gives the game even more value. If everything fails, there's always the promise of a Manaphy egg for your D/P.

Mystery Dungeon is nice too, although the gameplay is kind of frustrating to me.

It's VERY challenging also. It's more then just "drawing" lines.

I also HATE how people act like Manaphy is the only "purpose" of this game. -_-

I got Ranger 2 days ago and I am in love with it. The graphics are great, the gameplay is original, and the story kicks ass. And Habunake is right. While people think the premise of the game is just drawing circles, the actual capturing is much more involved than people think. If you buy Ranger, you will not be disappointed.

Mystery Dungeon is great also. IMO, the story is better, but the graphics suffer a bit, but they are both good games. MD's gameplay gets a bit repetitive, but the fact that, with hard work, you can be any pokemon you like is too good to pass up.

I think MD suffered graphically because they had too put it on GBA also for some reason.

Pokemon Ranger is fun, and was definately worth it last week for $20 at Circuit City last week :p (I think its worth $30 too though)

But my problems with it is that Hal made it too linear (very linear, probably the most yet as it feels like one long cutscene at times), and made you feel like you are in the boy scouts. Seriously Team Go-Go feels less evil than Jessie and James at the begining, doing stupid pranks like little kids. Eventually they get into more villiany things, but it just feels like it was designed for younger kids, and I can't shake the feelling that everything I do feels pointless.

I haven't completed it yet because I just got it, but I like it better than MD right now. (Though it isn't fair to MD because I've only done the first mission since I didn't get it 'till the same time I got Pokemon Diamond (Which sucked up 100% of my game time))

It is pretty fun though.

I have alot of trouble with it due too my clumsy and unsteady hands though.

I can't play ranger too much with my touch screen cracked. The LCD leaks out black blotches and when it does, I have to wait 24hrs before they go down again. -_-

Not really

-Short
-Easy
-Not much of a replay factor

Unless you want Manaphy, don't buy this.

I got MD today for 15 dollars at Target. I've beat the 1st mission but I don't know what to name my team lol.

EDIT: I named it blue.

How do you crack the screen? lol it seems real durable..

Yeah I was going to buy Pokemon Ranger but it was $32.99 so I'm just going to wait till around late January/Febuary to get it because I still have to beat Mystery Dungeon and Pokemon FireRed and I want to buy Emerald when I'm done with FireRed.

Oh, trust me, it is, but it just couldn't withstand small children (can anything?). It was in my pocket and I was knocked over by a swarm of 5-8 year olds (shut up), and I fell on it...hard. An hour later, I opened the DS, and there were 2 great cracks from the bottom left corner to the top, and to the right side of the touch screen. It looks real ugly. I need to get a new one because the L-Button rarely works, the R-Button sometimes works, and the A and B buttons occaisonally stop working. :). But this brings about at least one good thing...I can finally get a jet black DS Lite.

Lol thats funny, depressing. I have the Onyx DS Lite is that the one your talking about? If you have a regular DS its worth getting a Lite anyways. The regular DS is to big to even take anywhere..

Pokemon Ranger is a very good game. It's just kind of..... hard!
It's frustrating, challenging but very rewarding. It makes the traditional Pokemon games look like Yoshi Story. Not only do you have to use your hands instead of buttons, but there are obstacles, like getting burned (stupid Charizard) or falling down pits, and not being able to save everywhere.
I recommend it.... just have a good walkthrough for backup.
