Pokemon Ranger

Also planned for 2006 is another project meant to coincide with Diamond and Pearl, titled "Pokémon Ranger: The Path to Diamond and Pearl." This project will become the title of a new TV anime series and movie, replacing the anime's current title of "Advanced Generation." A short preview of the Pokémon Ranger movie is expected to be aired at the end of the July 16 premiere of the eighth movie, Mew and the Wave-Guiding Hero: Lucario. It is currently unknown whether or not Pokémon Ranger will be a game or simply a title for the anime,
although signs point to it being a game.

I know, but I mean, shouldn't there be a discussion of Ranger, here in the anime forum, since it appears to be the title of the next movie, and mebbie the "Diamond and Pearl" related anime incarnation. Or at least the movie is to have "Pokemon Ranger" in it's title.

So would that mean we'll see the end of Ash's journey before DP's release?

Not necessarily. Did his journey end when the series changed to Advanced Generation? Although I am wondering what a Pokémon Ranger is.

My guess: They'll introduce a new character who is a Pokemon Ranger, similar to how May was introduced as a coordinator.

I don't think they'll drop Ash, especially not this late in the game.

The Jenny in "The Kangaskhan Kid" was called a Pokemon Ranger. I think the Jenny in the OI episode on Pinkan Island was too. It would be great if a Jenny joined the group.

There are too many Jennys in the pokémon world to have one join the main group, IMO.

Lol, why would Jenny join the group? If that's the case, TR would get arrested the first time she sees them try to capture Pikachu.

Unless this is just a random new title in the series, I wonder if they WILL drop Ash? I mean, he's not anything resembling a Pokemon Ranger. If he remained the main character, it would be odd to have the show titled after something the character's not. Even if there's a sidekick character who's a Pokemon Ranger . . .

Well, they both have the same type of hat, at least.

This just struck an idea in my head, though: as extremely unlikely as it may be, Ash becoming a Pokémon Ranger would be really cool. It's not like the Rangers seem to be confined to parks or anything in the games. He could easily both collect badges to compete in the league and stop people from poaching Pokémon (which he, uh, already does *coughTeamRocketcough*). And I could totally see him wearing the Pokémon Ranger uniform...
