Pokémon Red, Green, Blue and Yellow limited editions announced: Mew serial codes and ...

To correspond with the release of the first generation games on the Virtual Console, Japan are getting limited edition Nintendo 2DS bundles. Each bundle contains a transparent Nintendo 2DS's with the corresponding game and theme, Town Map, sticker set and Mew serial card code.

When I heard about the virtual console release for Red, Blue, and Yellow, I was on the verge of buying a used Gameboy Advanced and a copy of the game (since I'm not into emulators), but thank goodness I waited! It'd be awesome if the Mew glitch still worked too in the US - a little retro gaming phenomenon never hurt anybody. XD

Do we know for sure yet if the Mew is going to be available in the non japanese games? I am referring to both the Mew distributed to Gen 6, and the Mew distributed to the Gen 1 VC's.

If not we're gonna have to pray the Mew Glitch is still in effect!

Or 8F, or pretty much any tiny mistake, which by definition is going to remain. I don't think this game will have any trading capability with Gen 6, of course, since it's only on the VC.
Amen to that. If it turns out they've patched any of the old glitches, I'm gonna be pissed. I'm already planning to use a Missingno. on my team in Red.
I'll have an Onix, Pidgey, Tentacool, Meowth, Hitmonlee, and anything with 233 attack :)

I wonder if the Yellow edition will still have the exclusives like the Flying Pikachu and Surfing Pikachu mini games? Iirc you needed an Pikachu with surf in the originals, from Pokemon Stadium, how will they handle it this time? Will it be cut, will they add Surfing Pikachu, will the data be left in the game, but unusable (without cheating

...why people want a game-breaking glitch on their team...I'm planning that my Hall of Fame team will at least include (in Yellow) Pikachu, Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise and Butterfree.

Why not Pidgeot, he's the only one of Ash's your missing? I was thinking of something similar, with the 3 starters and Pikachu, but instead of Butterfree and Pidegot, going for Rhydon and maybe something like Alakazam (although I'd need a friend to trade with :/ )

Actually, I'm told Butterfree would REALLY help against Sabrina. I'm not planning to copy Ash's team (since he never evolved Bulbasaur or Squirtle).

I've already pre-planned which Pokémon I'd like in my parties. In Yellow, for example (the only game in which I'd name my character ASH and my rival GARY for obvious reasons), I intend to train Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Lapras and Snorlax. As for the sixth slot, I still have yet to choose a Pokémon to fill it. If we get the Mew event here, then it could be that.
