I'd might as well apply for a job at Nintendo because I keep getting these Pokémon game ideas.

Anyway, what if for the 20th Anniversary, they would remake Pokémon Red and Blue for the Wii U? Yep, Wii U, not 3DS. But it's compatible with the 3DS for trades and battles with XY and ORAS.

It could be in Wii U HD 3D. Yep. Kanto in HD 3D. From Pallet Town to Indigo Plateau.

Red U would be a remake of Red and FireRed, while Blue U is Blue and LeafGreen. But they also have inspirations from Yellow and the Johto games.

The Sevii Islands return, but this time, there's three new islands that are unlocked with the Omni Pass you get from completing the Network Machine quest. There's Eight/Battle Island, Nine/World Island, and Ten/Legend Island.

Battle Island is the Battle Frontier. It has thirteen facilities: Battle Tower, Battle Factory, Battle Arena, Battle Pike, Battle Palace, Battle Pyramid, Battle Dome, Battle Arcade, Battle Castle, Battle Hall, Battle Chateau, Battle Mason and Battle Town. There are routes between facilities. These facilities are similar to past games, except with different Frontier Brains. For the Battle Town, you fight all the residents to win.

World Island is like a united embassy. It has towns based on Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos. Each one is full of houses where important characters from the region in question live. You can battle Gym Leaders, heroes (other player characters like Ethan, May, Lucas), Elite Four members, Champions, Rivals, etc. It's basically another Pokémon World Tournament. You can also meet Pokémon Professors who give you their regional starter Pokémon and Storage System developers who give you their favorite Pokémon of the region. However, they are there only on certain days.

Legend Island is home to many legendaries. Mew in Unknown Forest, Ho-Oh in the Rainbow Tower, Lugia in the Ocean Den, Celebi in the Time Forest, the Regi Legendaries in the Regi Ruins, the list goes on.

The Kanto Pokédex stays to the classic 151 Pokémon. I know, I could have added cross-gen evolutions or a few Johto Pokémon, but that could make some genwunners rage. Happiness can't reach maximum until the Elite Four is beaten. Move tutors in the Sevii Islands can teach evolutionary moves, the Moss and Ice Rocks are in Pattern Bush and Icefall Cave respectively, the Power Plant needs a Machine Part from the Rocket Warehouse to evolve Magneton to Magnezone. To obtain the National Dex, you must defeat the Elite Four and have seen all 151 Pokémon. Non-Legendary Pokémon not originally seen in trainer battles (like Magmar) will be seen in trainer battles. Mew is registered in the Pokédex once the player reads the journal in Cinnabar Mansion.

Roaming Pokémon return and work the way they did before Gen V. Moltres roams Kanto after seeing it instead of Articuno through the binoculars. Latias and Latios roam the Sevii Islands after you complete the Network Machine

Team Rocket's plot is expanded to plan to capture Mewtwo.

There could be new Mega Evolutions, like Mega Raichu, Mega Machamp and Mega Typhlosion.

There could be voice acting with actors from 4Kids and TPCi.

Red and Leaf could be rivals for the opposite-gendered player alongside the main rival, Blue.

Every Pokémon Center has a Wi-Fi Club and a Global Terminal.

Every gym has it's own remix.

The legendary birds have their own themes.

The legendary beasts are found in certain locations after getting the National Pokédex. Entei at Moltres' former lair at Mt. Ember. Suicune on Route 25 like HGSS and Raikou at Route 10.

The Celadon Game Corner is replaced with an Arcade that let's you play a variety of minigames. The gambling is reduced so that instead of coins, you buy Arcade Tokens to play the games. It's 1,000 Poké Dollars for 10 tokens. Your high scores earn you GP (Game Points) which you can use to purchase prizes next door.

When you visit Bill after getting the National Dex, he gives you a Poké Radar that you can use to catch non-Kanto Pokémon.

You can also get on the S.S. Anne once a year on the date that you first board it.

So, would you be interested in playing this on the Wii U?

Hm, neat idea. A few problems though:
- I don't think that a core series game (even if it is a remake) would be created for anything other than the current Nintendo handheld console.

- Can Wii U's connect with 3DS's in any way? 'Cause if they can't, we won't have a way to transfer Pokemon, which would create some considerable backlash.

- Why would Pokemon Centers need Global Terminals or Wifi Clubs? The system we have right now allows trainers to trade and connect with others at any time, anywhere; restricting such activities to a Center again would be a step back.

- Voice acting would honestly make the whole "silent protagonist" thing even weirder. If this is a matter of giving all Pokemon anime voices... oh god no. I like their normal cries, not them shouting their name over and over. Ugh.

- This sounds like a pretty big game, and as far as I can tell, these sorts of things take a lot longer than a half year to finish. Unless Game Freak somehow was secretly working on this years in advance, there's no way it could be released in time for a 20th anniversary. Of course, this wouldn't be a problem if they didn't care about the anniversary... and I'm inclined to believe that they don't really care.

Otherwise, sounds appealing. If done right, a game like that could appease just about everyone, except for genwunners and Kanto-haters.

You... really are on a roll with these speculative ideas, aren't you?

I'm not saying your ideas are bad (on the contrary, they're fantastic), but it makes me sad knowing that these ideas are more than likely never going to be implimented. Other than a Colosseum/XD-esque spinoff game where the number of Pokemon would be limited to, say, 200-400 instead of all 720+, I really don't see Game Freak being bothered to make something like this. I don't think it's because they can't, but simply won't. The main games are traditionally played on a handheld, and I can see why they are. One of the classic objectives is to trade with your friends, and you can't exactly take a bulky console hooked to a television with you to your friend's house or school. It's neat in theory, but actually having something like this would be detrimental to the trading side of Pokemon games. That's just the only thing I don't see working.

Or, maybe no voice acting. That'll be complicated with the Player's name and for nicknames. Textboxes from the handhelds are good. And I like the Pokémon video game cries too.

And yes, 3DS can connect to Wii U. We saw that happen with Super Smash Bros.

I guess PSS can return in Red U and Blue U.

It doesn't have to be released on the anniversary. In fact I doubt they would even release it at all because the last time I sent them an idea for a Pokémon game, they rejected it.

And they are trying to figure out how to get people together before releasing a console game? Um, they can just go to eachother's houses, can't they? And they can write down their friend codes. The only disadvantage I find with consoles is that you can't take them outside.

That's exactly what they're saying though, they think Pokemon is a game that you take with you in public and communicate with people in.

I don't think restricting the variety of Pokemon available in the game just for a group of people who very likely will not buy it is a good idea.

Also good to hear from you again Sean.

The 3DS can communicate with the Wii U fine (it can even be used as a controller in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U).

Sevii Islands need to be expanded on, yes, but there already is an eight and nine island, they were even visitable from Hoenn, I'm talking about Navel Rock and Birth Island, yes, those are eight and nine island. I don't think we need more because then it's not really the Sevii Islands (8 and 9 were and should remain event only).

Also, main series doesn't belong on console, it'll be for the 3DS or maybe even the new 3DS.

I'd be happy just to have the originals on the virtual console with some sort of way to trade and battle implemented.

Honestly, I wouldn't even mind if Generations 1-3 on VC didn't have the ability to battle and trade with other people. I pretty much can't do that with the originals of these games. All having them on VC would do would make it so that I can buy them digitally for low prices. (I'd imagine that DPPt, HGSS, BW & B2W2 on VC wouldn't have this connectivity probably at least.)

This could happen but that means people have to buy a whole new console to get these games. Game Freak hasn't put a pair of main series games on consoles like wii but there is a first time for anything. I would remain open to the idea but my preference is the handheld consoles to be honest.

Do this with a nostalgia spin, single player only. eShop title, HD graphics, but inthe style of the old games, top/down perspective in other words. Offer overworld enconters, a full time dexnav vut without the bottom screen features, have battles as detialed full representations of the locale, something like xy beefed up. And instead of being small scale ow with big scale dungeons/landmarks like the games proper, go for full scale that is cohsive. Proper 10 story tall skyskcrapers in Saffron, a towering Pokemon tower, the works. If you're wondering, this works because the character odels are proper models, a little less chbi then XY. Cutscenes could use origins, and expand on that by offering origins' style cutscenes for every major event.

See everyone loves to think about a HD pokemon game or a Pokemmo or a pokemon game with all the regions in it as being a fantastic idea but all 3 won't happen at least for a VERY long time because it's not feasible at all. Gamefreak is a business, with that in mind, why would they go from the huge install base of the 3ds to the comparatively slim wii u? Why would they spend ridiculous amounts of money on making a HD pokemon game when they could just release a gen 1 remake using the gen 6 engine? And why make a game for a console that's on its way out? Why would they go and make an effective Pokemon World Tournament and battle frontier and voice acting alongside having to effectively make the graphics from scratch, especially since inflating a 3ds screen onto a television will not end well? To summarise, why would they even think of making such a game when there are more red flags popping up than you can count? I don't mean to be rude or mean, but ideas like this only serve to give false hope to people that someday they'll come true when they won't. Just envision yourself from the business's point of view and look at the idea again.

While it doesn!t seem feasible, or a pipe dream,a Pokemon Wii U game or even a console game after the 3DS will be moot. Locked to tge NX or not, the games will likely be on a platform that has PS3 graphics minimum, somewhere around the Wii U. So even speculating for the Wii U will perhaps yield results soober or later.

"I'd might as well apply for a job at Nintendo because I keep getting these Pokémon game ideas."

Doesn't mean they're good ideas.

Just let gen 1 die.

Game companies don't need "idea guys," so to speak. Anyone can come up with a neat game concept, so their knowledge in game design is what counts. Some of the ideas in the OP are pretty neat, but you have to consider what you would have to change in the design of Pokémon itself in order to make those ideas successful/necessary.

NO. Give Kanto a rest for once, please. I'm sick of it. The only remakes we get anytime soon should be gen 4 remakes. Nothing else.

@Kelleo; five years is a long ass time.
I guess you are forgetting the mass Kanto pandering in XY: Santalune Forest being a carbon copy of Viridian Forest, half of the megas being from Kanto mons, Sycamore gives a second set of starters and they are the Kanto starters, only legendaries catchable that weren't from Kalos were the Kanto legends (Mewtwo and the legendary birds) and some other stuff i'm forgetting at the moment.

While Kanto itself wasn't there, this disgusting aumont of Kanto pandering in XY made me sick of Kanto for a bunch of years. So yeah i agree with Kelleo, no remakes (again) of Gen 1 please.
