This my story, feel free to contact me and criticize it, as well as make suggestions for it.

Disclaimer: I do not own pokemon, I wish I did, but alas, I don't, so all charecters, except for oc, are the property of Nintendo and Gamefreak

Prologue

There was a small chirp as a white and blue rounded duck like creature emerged from a computer into a dimly lit room. The creature levitated over to a lab table, on which a computer was being used, as well as a microscope, into which a man with long greasy hair wearing a lab coat was staring intently into. He adjusted the microscope, then turned to the computer and typed something out. He then returned back to the microscope, adjusted something, then turned back to the keyboard and typed, apparently satisfied with the result. He grunted when he noticed the creature, and mumbled something under his breath, then adjusted his glasses and pushed his hair out of his eyes. He then walked over to a workbench on the other side of the room, where there were various vials and beakers, all filled with a curiously colored liquid, in which there was some odd material suspended within. He selected one of the vials, , examined it, then proceeded to walk out the door with the vial clutched in his hand. The shape on the table made a small motion, then chirped again.

The man walked into a large room, about the size of a gymnasium, with a large pool in the middle. In the pool there were several large fish, all red with golden barbels near their mouth. Inside there were three other people in the room. One of them, a young man, also dressed in a lab coat, looked up as the man entered, and said, “Over here sir, we have the subject sedated.”

“Very good,” he replied. “Hopefully this time it works...Apollo is getting irritated with the lack of progress so far.”

“It worked on the Rattata,” his assistant replied.

“True, but there is a difference between a Rattata and a Magikarp,” he said. “Frankly, I could care about a Raticate. However, Gyarados is much more valuable, and means more toward the Boss than a common rat.”

“At least the serum doesn't kill the subjects now,” the assistant responded

The man walked over to his assistant, who was finishing strapping down one of the red fish. The Magikarp sleepily struggled, but to no avail. The man bent down and pulled a syringe out of his lab coat. He took the vial and sucked up the liquid inside with the syringe. He then looked around, apparently checking to make sure everything was in place, then asked the other two men, both wearing black clothes with a red R stitched into their shirts, if they had their stun guns ready. The men both nodded, then took positions flanking the man. The man then swiftly injected the liquid into the Magikarp's head. The Magikarp shuddered, then glowed white, at the same time rapidly increasing in size. After several seconds the glow faded, and in the Magikarp's place was a very awake red sea serpent. It easily tore through the straps holding it down and reared back and roared.

Both of the men carrying the guns looked at each other then in unison fired their guns at it. The serpent screeched in pain then lunged at one of the men, who quickly jumped out of the way, then stunned it again, causing it to collapse heavily onto the floor. The man in the lab coat quickly got up, then walked over to it. He quickly examined it, then said to no one in particular, “Interesting, it appears that it retained the colors it had as a Magikarp...hmm.” The man pulled out a black ball out of his coat, then pressed a button on it. The ball opened up, then sucked up the unconscious Gyarados in a beam of red light. He held the ball up to the light, apparently examining it, then strode over to the door and back into the dim room. He took a phone off of its cradle, then dialed a number quickly.

“Yes, this is Apollo,” a voice drawled out of the receiver.

“Sir, this is Wesley-”

“Who?” the voice lazily asked

“Wesley Smith, the scientist, in our Tohjo Falls facility?”

“Ah, okay, continue.”

“Sir, the experiment was a success. The Magikarp was forced to evolve,” the man named Wesley babbled out in his excitement. “I'm leaving right now, I'll be at the HQ in a hour to present this to the Boss.”

“Very good, very good, I will meet you there. You will probably be promoted to commander for this, you know that?”, the man named Apollo stated, then he apparently hung up

Wesley smiled, then said to the Porygon2 on the desk, “Come now, we have a lot to do, this is a very important day,” then he laughed. “Maybe I'll be able to get that dubious disc now, and I can evolve you. What do you think of that, eh? Then maybe I can get the time off to actually train you. Speaking of which, I have a TM for you when we get back,” as his blue and white Porygon2 chirped excitedly.

Wesley then bustled out of the room, his Porygon2 perched on his shoulder. He quickly strode down the hall, and out the door into the parking lot, where a black van rested, the two men from earlier sat in the front seats of the van. He hurriedly crossed the distance to the van, then climbed into the back of the van. Inside the van the van there was a long seat going down the inside of the van and opposite that was a long counter. Wesley sat down then grinned at his Porygon2, which chirped back. The man in the drivers seat looked back to make sure he was seated, then started the van.

Wesley closed his eyes as the van sped along the little Pallet river, imagining how the conversation with the boss would go. Meanwhile the van slowed down and went around a corner, onto the bridge spanning the river, allowing passage from the Pallet Town side to Viridian City. Suddenly the van screeched to a halt and swerved dangerously, then screeched to a halt.

Wesley opened his eyes and shouted, “ What the fuck? Are you trying to kill us?” Then he realized why the driver had stopped. On the middle of the bridge was a large green bipedal dinosaur shaped animal, covered with spikes and blue rhombus shapes on various parts of its body. “What the hell? Tyranitar's don't live in the Kanto,” he said as the Tyranitar turned and glared at the van. “Drive slowly back,” Wesley said as the animal slowly started coming towards the van.

“Shit. The van won't start,” the driver said nervously, quickly trying to start the van.

Meanwhile the Tyranitar started running, lowering its head to smash into the van. “Shit, that things going to hit us.” the driver cried out as the Tyranitar smashed into the side of the van. The van flipped over into the air, Wesley's Porygon2 flying off his shoulder and smashing off the counter, knocking it unconscious, the driver and the other grunt going through the now broken front windshield, and Wesley flying into the roof. The black pokeball rolled from his still form, and onto the floor where it opened. The Gyarados burst out, apparently still very angry about earlier. It burst through the van's side like it was paper and onto the bridge, where it quickly rose and saw the Tyranitar. Apparently thinking the Tyranitar was responsible for its forced evolution earlier, it quickly shot blue flames out at it, causing the Tyranitar to roar in pain then attack the Gyarados. Meanwhile, inside the van, Wesley woke up, and grabbed his Porygon, blood streaming from his face, and then crawled out of the now flaming van.

On the bridge, the Gyarados' anger was very palpable, as blue flames streamed out of its mouth at the Tyranitar, which roared in pain and fell back, crushing the two grunts and falling though the bridge into the river below. The Gyarados quickly dove after it and dragged it under the surface of the river. Wesley crawled to the edge of the hold in the bridge and watched the struggling Tyranitar slowly drown under the Gyarados. The red Gyarados roared triumphantly, then attacked the bridge. Wesley stumbled back as the bridge started collapsing. He wasn't quick enough however and he fell through into the river. He floundered at the surface, until the burning van came down on top of him, where he slowly sank down, pinned underneath of the wrecked van. The Gyarados roared again, then dove under the surface of the river as it started to rain, and swam off, leaving the wrecked bridge behind.

Several hours later as emergency vehicles crowded around the remains of the bridge, looking for survivors, they failed to notice a small blue and white creature bob to the surface. The Porygon2 struggled around on the surface, flailing around, looking for Wesley, before it's small body succumbed to the current and was swept away down the river.

Meanwhile in Viridian City, a tall man with blue-green hair dressed in white, with a small red R emblazoned over his left breast, quickly walked down a street, and quietly entered a tall building labeled Rocket Corporation. He strode in through the doors then stopped as a woman with red hair came up to him.

“I heard about the, uh fiasco your charge caused,” she said smiling in a triumphant way. The woman was fairly tall, and was wearing a white dress trimmed with black, which also had a red R emblazoned on her left breast.

“I don't see how that concerns you Athena,” Apollo stated. “If it were any of your business, you would be the one reporting to the Boss right now, not me.”He then walked around her and started towards the elevators on the other side of the room.

“It is my business, though,” the woman named Athena shot back. “The boss summoned me here to report with you.”

Apollo froze for a second, then continued towards the elevator, Athena following him in. Once inside Apollo pressed the button for the top-most floor of the building. When the elevator reached the top floor, the two quickly strode down the corridor, which was lined with expensive paintings and carpeted with a very expensive carpet, and knocked on the ballroom doors at the end of the hall. A quiet voice told them to enter

“Sir, the specima-”

“Yes I know,” the man replied. He was dressed in a expensive, flamboyant orange suit, with a large cat sitting next to him. He had a receding hair line lightly streaked with gray and piercing dark eyes. He turned and stared out of the huge windows lining the massive room, giving a spectacular view of the city, then turned around “You must be wondering why I asked Athena to be here, though, are you not? You see, this whole project is getting on my nerves, first the failure to force the evolution, and now when, finally working, the specimen escaping. Your subject's incompetence has becoming very irksome Apollo,” he continued. “In Team Rocket, I have no use for people that consistently fail their missions, do you understand?”

“Yes sir,” Apollo said, his head bowed, not meeting the other man's eyes.

“Very good. As of now however, I am assigning you and Athena to work together to recapture the specimen. But first I want you and Athena to go to laboratory and collect anything of use, then destroy the building. It won't take long for the police to connect your scientist to that building. Now follow me.”

The man walked out the door, his Persian closely following him and into the elevator. As they waited for the doors to close, he opened a secret panel in the elevator and inserted a key into it, then he pressed a button next to the keyhole. When the doors opened back up, they were looking out over the roof of the building. The man quickly strode out of the elevator, his Persian following him. Both Apollo and Athena exchanged looks with each other, then followed him. They stood next to the helipad as a helicopter came into view, and then touched down on the roof. The side door of the helicopter opened, and a tall man with green hair jumped out.

“Sir, everything you requested is on the helicopter, and we have two other helicopters on standby at the edge of town.” The new man, dressed in black, but with white gloves, boots and belt, looked around then saw Apollo and Athena standing together. He smirked, then said, “ Seeing you two like that brings back so many memo-”

“That's enough Lance.” the orange suited man said. “Apollo, Athena, you know your mission, now get started.”

The man and woman both climbed into the helicopter, which then promptly took off and disappeared from sight in the darkening sky. Lance and the Boss both watched it, then turned and headed back to the elevator, with the Persian trailing behind.

“Lance your mission is to re-acquire the Porygon2 that this man Wesley had. It is blue and white and will most likely have most if not all the data that he was working on, including the effect of radio waves on evolution. I particularly want that. I am assuming that its floated downriver from the accident and will be around lake Pallet. I won't except failure.”

Here Is Chapter 1:

Rain splashed down on a rundown road covered in trash and mud, forming numerous puddles. In the distance, forks of lightning flashed and disappeared, as well as the loud cracks that accompanied them. Through the sheets of rain, a lone figure was walking up the road, dressed in a very large black sweatshirt and cargo shorts and had converse on for shoes. The figure's long soaking black black hair hid their face, although judging by the form, it was a girl in her mid teens. The girl stopped and pushed her sodden hair out of her face, looking around. The girl was attractive, with vivid green eyes, lined in black, several freckles splashed across the bridge of her nose, with pale skin. She was tall with narrow shoulders and was rather thin, with a small chest, on which a necklace rested. Her left hand was bandaged and her fingernails where painted black. The girl looked around again, then continued to trudge up the road, looking rather dejected.

The girl was Danielle Dionne, a sixteen year old girl who had just been told she would have to wait another month to get her first Pokémon. She had arrived just a minute to late at Professor Oak's lab, and as a result, there weren't any Pokémon left for her. She paused again, then put her hand in her pocket, and pulled out a pokéball. Oak had told her that if she was able to find a Pokémon and catch it, then she could start her journey then, instead of having to wait for more Pokémon to arrive from the Sevii Island breeding center. She stared at the ball in her hand for a moment, then put it in her pocket again. Danielle then continued walking up the road, eventually stopping before a rundown house. She stopped at the mailbox and looked inside, then continued into the house. Inside it was rather shabby, with paint peeling off the walls, and several holes present in it. She walked into down the hall and into her room, which was much cleaner than the rest of the house, although there were several more holes in the wall, and the window appeared to be smashed out, which seemed to coincide with the bandages on the back of her hand. She sat down on her worn bed, which groaned loudly then laid down, staring at the ceiling. Several minutes later, there was a loud slam, then the sound of someone stomping up stairs. She sighed. It was her mom, probably back with more booze. Her mother had been drinking since Danielle was a little girl, as a result of her father being killed in a traffic accident. She frowned, a thoughtful look on her face. She remembered how after her mom started drinking, she used to sneak out to her friend Gary's house, and play over there, with her other friend Lucian, since her older brother was being a dick, and would just lock himself in his room, and blast heavy metal music. She sighed, remembering how her and Gary used to play all the time and were best friends then. Now she barely knew him at all, he being incredibly popular with the girls and becoming much more withdrawn and sullen. Now that he had gotten his Squirtle, he would probably be even more withdrawn. She then wondered what her other best friend was doing. She got out a notebook and started writing in it.

Lucian Stone walked into the Poké Center of Viridian City, water dripping from his silvery hair. The storm had picked a very inconvenient time to form, just as he was walking across the newly repaired bridge linking Pallet and Viridian. He shrugged out of his shirt and squeezed out the water directly onto the floor, much to the chagrin of Nurse Joy, who scowled at him. He sniggered then walked into the cafe part of the Center. He ate, then decided to call his best friend Danielle.

“Hey Danni, how's it going,” he laughed into the phone, sensing her scowl.

“It's pretty fucking shitty, not being able to go with you guys. Now I have to wait another goddamn month, or find some other Pokémon and catch it.” She snapped. “The only fucking wild Pokémon are goddamn Magikarp's, and those are so goddamn weak not even a beginning trainer would want one.”

“Hey, hey, calm down. I'm sure you can get something. Tell you what, I'll wait here in Viridian for a week and if you can find a Pokémon by then, then we can travel together. How does that sound?”

“...okay...I guess I can try to do that...”she said, smiling slightly. That was one of the reasons why she liked Lucian so much. He was very patient, and didn't mind waiting for something to happen. Plus he was one of the few people able to calm here down when she got pissed, which had admittedly been happening more and more frequently. “I'll try and see you then I guess. Bye.”

“Bye and good luck.” He hung up, then walked back into the main room of the center and asked for a room. Joy scowled at him, but proceeded to give him a room key, then instructed him to go up to the second floor, room 112. The room was a decent size, with the main room being the bedroom, which had twin beds and one recliner as well as a t.v. , and the bathroom. He sighed, set down his bag and then let out his starter, a Charmander. His Charmander looked around then waddled over to the window, staring out of it. Matt sighed, lit a cigarette, smoked it, then went into the bathroom and showered. After his shower, he went back into the main room and found the recliner on fire, with his Charmander sheepishly looking at him. He laughed despite himself, then went into the hall and grabbed the fire extinguisher and put out the fire. “Maybe you should sleep in your pokéball tonight.”
-----------------
Danielle groaned inwardly at the stale cereal with possibly expired milk. She groaned again, then flung it away from her and strode out the door. She walked out to the road, getting drenched in the process, then ran to the lake. She ran down onto the dock and sat down. She looked around, then tried to remember what Pokémon were able to be caught in Lake Pallet. She knew that one could find Magikarp and Psyduck, as well as occasional Shellder and Goldeen. She remembered the fisherman that said he found a Feebas here. She groaned again, not wanting any of those, then stood to get up. As she stood up she slipped and fell backwards into the lake.

“Graceful,” a voice said. “I guess since you didn't get a Pokémon, your going to try water acrobats, no?”

Danni floundered under the surface for a second, then emerged. “Shut up Gary. Why are you such a asshole now anyway? And no, I was planning on getting a Pokémon.”

“Oh? So your less than graceful fall into the water was a attempt to get a Pokémon?” Gary laughed. “Your going to have to try harder than that to find a Pokemon” Gary crouched down and offered a hand to her, who promptly pulled him into the water. Gary spluttered, “ What the hell was that for?”

“That was for laughing at me. Now help me find a Pokémon,” she demanded. She then felt something bump against her leg. Diving down, she scooped up a blue and white duck like creature, then set it down on the dock and pulled herself up.

“That's a Porygon2. As if you'd be lucky enough to find one in a lake,” said Gary in disbelief as he pulled himself up onto the dock. “It seems to be unconscious. Here, give it this revive,” as he handed Danielle a diamond shaped object.

Danni held the revive up to Porygon's face who was revived from the smell of it. It blinked twice then chirped and looked around.

“<Where am I?>” The Porygon asked, causing both Gary and Danni to fall back into the lake again. “<I'm sorry, did I scare you?>”

“Yes of course you fucking scared us. Pokémon aren't supposed to talk. How the hell can you talk anyway?” Danni practically screamed at it, with Gary wincing at her loud voice.

“<All Pokémon can talk, most just choose not to...anyway most humans can't understand poke speech. Will one of you be my trainer? My poor Wesley drowned and I don't know how to live in the wild....poor Wesley. Porygon misses him so much,>” the Porygon sniffled.

“Uh, sure I'll be your trainer,” Gary said. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a pokéball. Just as he was about to press the button to capture the Porygon Danni grabbed him and threw him in the lake again, then pulled out her own pokéball and pressed the button in the center. The Porygon was sucked up in a beam of red light, then the ball shook three times, then clicked shut.

“What the fuck? I was going to capture it.” Gary shouted as he pulled himself out of the lake for the third time.

“You already have a Pokemon. Now I can go on my own Pokémon journey.” Danni smiled, then sent out the Porygon. Porygon blinked then squealed as she grabbed it in her hands then shouted at Gary. “Last one to your Gramp's lab has to pay the other one 50 bucks!”
-----------------
Across the lake a pair of binoculars disappeared into a bush. “Hmm...never expected her to find it. How to get it without her finding out it was me? What do you think Cerberus?”

“<I don't know. It's your sister, not mine.>” the Houndoom said lazily, just cracking a eye to look up at his trainer. “<Maybe you should have rethought joining Team Rocket, hmm?” The large dog yawned widely, then got up and pounced into the bush. It emerged with a Pidgey clenched between it's canines, blood running down his chin. He settled down then started on his meal. “<Yum. Nothing like a fat Pidgey for a snack. Anyway, you should tell Giovanni that it may take longer to...ah...obtain now that it has a new trainer. And can you scratch my neck? It itches.>”

“Hmm, I'm not sure what to do. She has grown up, that's for sure.” the green haired man said as he scratched his Houndoom's neck.
-----------------
Danni ran through the doors into Oak's lab, closely shadowed by Gary. She ran into the back room, which was by far the largest, and had various computers and lab machines placed in it, with book shelves filling the remaining open space. Slowing to a halt, Danni looked around, breathing heavily. A moment later Gary joined her, also breathing heavily.

“Give me my $50. I beat you,” she exclaimed breathlessly to a scowling Gary, who pulled out his wallet and gave her a crisp $50 dollar bill.

“Did you even have $50?” Gary asked.

“Nope, good thing I didn't lose, isn't it? Where's Oak?” she laughed.

“Right here. What can I do for you two? I'm surprised you haven't started your journey yet Gary.” Oak said. Oak was a tall man with graying hair, with warm brown eyes, in contrast to his grandson's cold brown eyes. He had a book clutched in his hand labeled “Guide To Competitive Pokémon Battling,” “Did you get a Pokémon Miss Dionne?”

“Yeah I did. I found this Porygon2 in the lake.” she beamed. She held out the Porygon for Oak, who gently took it, then brought it over to his table. He carefully looked it over with his experienced eye, then pronounced it as being in good condition. “Can I get my Pokédex now? I got my Pokémon.”

“Certainly. I've got one right here.” as he handed the red rectangle to her. “All you have to do is hold it up to the Pokémon you want to see and it'll tell you its move as well as the species information. Now hold on while I fill out your trainer registration for you.”

“Okay...god I can't wait to go catch all kinds of Pokémon and become the champion,” Danni bubbled out happily.

“All right when you get to Viridian call me, and I'll tell you where to go from there. Gary, you may as well go up with her, it won't kill you to do something with someone else for a change,” ignoring Gary's glare directed at him. “Oh, and Miss Dionne, here are 5 pokeballs to help you catch your own Pokémon. Here is your Porygon by the way.” as he handed Danni her blue and white Porygon.

-----------------
A hour later, after waiting for her to get her stuff and write a perfunctory goodbye letter to her mother, Gary and Danielle left for Viridian. They were walking along the grass lined route with Gary barely paying attention to her talking until she punched him in the arm.

“Ow, what the hell was that for?” Gary exclaimed.

“I asked you if you wanted to battle? Three times.”

“No, I Don't feel like wasting my time battling you. I have other things to do.”

“Like what? All your doing is walking up the path with me. That's not doing anything.” Danni said, slightly put off.

“I'm looking for the abandoned house that's here. There are supposed to be ghosts and I wanna to go see if that's true or not. Unless your to much of a chicken?”

“Hell no! I'm more worried about you. Don't want you pissing your pants. That would be embarrassing as hell for you, with your little pride problem you have.”

“Ha. What pride problem is this?”

“You can't stand losing, or being second best, you always have to win or be the best at everything.”

“Yeah, whatever.”

They continued walking for about a hour, until a small, overgrown path appeared on the side of the road. Looking down the path, it was dark with trees overhanging covering it with shadows and the path itself was covered in grass. They both stopped and looked at each other than walked down the path. At the end of the path was a rusted metal gate. They both climbed over the fence, then fell lightly to the ground. The lawn was completely overrun with weeds and long grass and it appeared that a colony of Diglett had made themselves at home. There where several Murkrow's in nearby trees, with one Honchkrow mixed in. There was a path with grass that was overrun with grass like the rest of the estate, but seemed as though someone had walked on it recently, with the grass beat down. They both looked at each other agin, then made their way down the path. When the Honchkrow saw them, it uttered a deep guttural cry and it and the Murkrow flew off, all screeching loudly. When they got to the door, Gary tested it. It was locked.

“Great how are we supp-”

Danni kicked open the door, which flew off the hinges and crashed onto the floor beyond. “There, I always wanted to try that,” she laughed. Gary sighed and then walked in, Danni following him. “Someone has definitely been in here recently. Look at the footprints in the dust.” The entryway was covered in dust, bar the footprints. The entryway split into a hall going further into the house and a stairway next to it rising into the next floor. They both walked into down hall which opened in the living room, with the kitchen off to the right and a den to the left. Danni walked into the den and rummaged through the desk. “Hey, there are some blank tms here. I wonder why they were left here?”
She put them into her bag, then followed Gary into the kitchen. He was looking in the drawers as well, throwing stuff over his shoulder, making a racket. Danni looked over to the counter where there were several knives. She looked over at Gary, who was completely oblivious to the fact that she was even in the room, then she slipped a particularly large knife into her bag. She walked back into the living room and looked around. There was a piano in the corner, to which Danni walked over and sat down. She pressed a few keys and then started playing a song.

“I didn't know you could play the piano,” Gary said as she jumped.

“Ha ha, yeah it was something my mom taught me before my dad died.” Danni replied, looking down. “Anyway, shall we look upstairs?” she said, then without waiting for a response, walked back down the hall. She paused and looked at the portrait in the hall, unnoticed before. She examined it. In the portrait, there was a tall dark haired man with a serious face and blue eyes dressed in a black suit, with a pretty smiling blond woman with brilliant green eyes by his side, wearing a black dress, and in front with curly blond hair, was young girl with blue eyes like her father and a amused smile on her face. On the girls lap was a small black and grey dog-like creature with yellow eyes, a Poochyena. Danni smiled sadly and said “I wondered what happened to them?” She looked at the picture one more time, then started up the stairs. Halfway up, she gagged. “What it that smell?”

“What smell?” Gary asked. He followed her up the stairs then blanched as he inhaled the smell. “That smells like shit.”

They both cautiously walked up the stairs, both with their noses covered. They both paused at the top of the stairs, letting their eyes adjust to the dim light. The hall led to several bedrooms, with a bathroom and the master bathroom of to the sides. Danielle cautiously opened the door to the first bedroom, and then walked in, with Gary following. The bedroom had been made into a office apparently, with a desk on one wall, a old computer on top of it. There were several filing cabinets next to the desk, and opposite that were several bookcases, all filled with books. Gary walked over to a bookcase and examined the books, then selected one and opened it. Danielle walked over to the computer and switched the on switch. Surprisingly it turned on and started loading. She waited impatiently, tapping her foot. When the computer finally loaded, she clicked on one of the folders and opened the documents within it.

“This is all just documents related to their taxes and stuff like to that,” she said. “There isn't anything about the family itself.” She turned and looked at Gary. “What are you reading anyway?”

“It's a book on various myth's in the Kanto and Johto. It's actually fairly interesting. I think I will keep it.” He opened his bag and slipped it in. He then looked at the other books on the shelfs. He pulled out another one.“This one is about the evolutionary lines of Pokémon. Nothing else looks very interesting.”He put the other book in his bag then walked over to the filing cabinets and started rummaging in them.

“Well, okay. I guess we'll go look in the other rooms then.” Danni got up and walked to the doorway. “Are you coming?” she asked of Gary who had crossed to the window.

“Yeah, just a second. I thought I saw something move outside the window.” he said slowly as Danni walked over to his side. “Must of imagined it.” he continued, though by the sound of his voice he didn't think so.
-----------------
“<They are in the house. I saw them moving around through a window.>” said a bat like creature with a huge gaping mouth. The Golbat fluttered for several more moments until it was recalled into it's pokéball

“Hmm, okay. I'll wait for them to come out and then I will get the Porygon2 from the Danielle,” the green haired man said. His Houndoom sniffed something in the air, then growled slightly.

“<There is someone coming. They're probably ten miles to the east. It smells like a Pokémon and a human.>”

“Hmm, hopefully they hurry up inside the chateau.”

-----------------
Danielle and Gary continued to the master bedroom, having looked in all the other rooms. The both gagged as the smell got stronger with every step. They both looked at each other nervously, then Danielle hesitantly stepped forward and pushed the door open. There on the floor was a dead man, dressed in black encrusted with his blood, with a red R emblazoned on, surrounded by a lake of his own blood. He had a bullet hole in his forehead, and several more in his chest. He face was very badly beaten and he had a very obvious broken nose, and several of his teeth were knocked out. There where maggots crawling out of his mouth, which was slightly agape and flies buzzed around. Next to him was his Pokémon, also slaughtered. The Hypno was face up over his legs, its front slashed open, with its intestines spilling out over it's carcass, and its pendulum several feet from it. Danni doubled over and puked all over the carpet. Gary patted her back, himself struggling to keep his own lunch in. Danni finished puking, and looked at the body.

“That man was in Team Rocket,” she croaked. She staggered slightly as she got up, then edged around the bodies to get a closer look. Danielle leaned in close, her hand pinching her nose shut against the smell emanating from the bodies. She looked around, then noticed a black pokéball, underneath the shower curtain. She hopped over several small puddles of blood and picked it up. She looked at Gary. “There's a Pokemon in here.”

“Open it.”

“Hopefully it's not dead.” She opened it. A small green dinosaur-shaped animal with a horn-like projection off it head popped out. “What is it, I've never seen this Pokémon before.”

“Tha-thats a Larvitar. They are incredibly rare.” Gary uttered, sounding stunned.

“<Wh-who are y-you? Are you going to sh-shoot me too?>” the Larvitar stuttered out. He looked around then appeared to notice the dead man. “<That's the human who shot my mommy! He captured me!>” it cried out.

“I'm guessing Larvitar didn't want to go with him,” Danni said to Gary. She crouched down. “Hey little guy. Do you want to come with us? I promise I will treat you as well as your mommy did.”

“<O-okay...>” it said, sounding like it was about to cry. Danni gently picked it up and hugged it close to her.

“What are we going to do about this?”

“Gramp's said that our Pokédex have built in phones, so we should call the police. Come on, lets get out of here.” He turned and with one last look at the body he shuddered and then walked down the hall. Danni glanced down at the Larvitar, then recalled it and then walked out the door.

Danni walked out the main door. She froze when she saw the man blocking their path. “Hello Danielle,” he said smirking slightly

“Danni, who is he?”

“I'm her brother.” Gary's eyes widened then he looked at Danielle, whose looked like she was about to start crying. “I'm guessing she never told you that she had a brother, right?”

“What do you want?” Gary snarled at the Rocket, who grinned, barring his teeth slightly.

“I want her Porygon. My boss needs it.”

“Who's you boss?”

“Like I'd tell you kid. Just give me the Porygon and no one will get hurt.”

“Shut the fuck up. Your not my brother. The brother I knew wouldn't have ran away, and he wouldn't be trying to steal my Pokémon” Danni cried out. “Leave me alone.”

Lance opened his mouth to say something, but stopped as a gust of wind blew through the clearing. A large orange dragon circled overhead, then floated down. On it's back was a tall, young man with red eyes and red spiked hair, dressed in black. He jumped off his Dragonite, his cape billowing behind him as he did, and landed on the ground. “Humph, Lance Blackthorn. What terrible timing.” He turned to the two grunts in front of him. “We're leaving. Come on.” There was a hiss, then a large gray haze engulfed the clearing. When the haze disappeared, the Lance were gone.

“Are you two kids alright? Team Rocket has been really active recently, and we don't know why. But anyway, are you to okay? Did they hurt you?” Lance looked anxiously at them, then stepped over to Danielle as started to cry. He wrapped his arms around her in a hug and patted her back until she stopped.

“They didn't hurt us. They were trying to steal her Porygon from her. She's a little shook up because the green haired man is her brother.” he said, giving Danielle a sympathetic look. “And also she's shook up because there was a dead man in the house.”

“Oh...you kids stay right here. Where is it?”

“The top floor, in the master bedroom.” Lance quickly disappeared into the house. “Are you okay?” Gary had put his hands on her shoulders, and was looking at her. She nodded yes, then sniffled, and then embraced Gary. He hesitantly wrapped his arms around her, seeming unsure of what to do.

“Ha ha, look at you, unsure of what to do.” Danni stepped away, sniffled again, then laughed weakly. Just then Lance walked back out the door.

“I called Officer Jenny. She said that she will be here in a couple minutes. Let's go wait by the road.” They all walked to the road, Lance's Dragonite flying behind them. A couple minutes later several cop cars pulled up, with Officer Jenny stepping out of lead cruiser, and several other men stepping out of the other one. Officer Jenny came up to Lance, Danielle and Gary as the other men ran down the path with their guns drawn.

“Are you two okay? Lance called and said that you two were the ones that discovered the body and that after that Team Rocket confronted you and tried to steal your Pokémon.” she quoted.

“We're fine, and yeah we discovered the body.” Danni said tiredly. “They were after my Porygon2.” With that she pulled out Porygon's pokéball and sent it out.

“Well I can see why they'd be after it. Porygon2 are rare and yours is a alternate color to boot. Would you two like to be accompanied to Viridian so they don't try and ambush you further along?”

“Yes, that'd be great.” Gary said without asking Danni what she wanted.

“Okay, than we'll call the coroner and have him pick up the body, and then you can get a ride with me.”

-----------------
In small clearing, where two helicopters, both with a red R painted on the sides. One of the choppers was military-type helicopter, much more angular and also larger, with open cargo doors. The other was a much more rounded chopper, with a man and woman sitting in the cockpit

“Are the charges all in place?” a red haired woman asked.

There was a crackle of static, then “Yes ma'am. Awaiting orders to detonate.”

“Very well. Detonate.” Looking over at Apollo, “See that wasn't hard now was it. All you have to do is keep your subjects on a tighter leash. When they realize there is no wiggle room, then they will obey you. Simple as that. Oh, wow, that was nice explosion. I haven't seen one that big since back at the old HQ, when we testing different types of munitions.”

“Don't get cocky. Just because part one of the mission went smoothly, doesn't mean this next part will. Do you realize how hard it is going to be to find specific Gyarados in the miles of rivers and lakes we have to search. For all we, know, it could have gone into the sea, and then we won't ever find it there.”

“Its a freaking red Gyarados. It sticks out like a sore thumb.”

“Thats your problem right there. You think everything is as easy as it sounds.”

“Whatever Apollo.” Turning back to the radio, she pressed the button. “Is the area clear?”

“Yes Ma'am. We are heading back to the choppers right now.”

“Very good.” Dropping the radio, she looked over at Apollo. “I think you are to focused on what could happen. If you tried to be optimistic, you'll find yourself less stressed out and as a result you wouldn't have me cleaning up your messes.” Apollo opened his mouth to say something, but she reached over and put a finger on his mouth. “Shh”

A hour later, both of the choppers were cruising above the Pallet River, just high enough so the choppers landing skid's skimmed over the waves. In the first one, the military looking one, a Rocket grunt sat at a desk with a display on it, over his ears were a pair of headphones, he was listening to sonar being beamed from the choppers nose.

“Sir, there is something ahead.” He said to one of the men sitting in the front of the chopper. The man was a admin, wearing white clothes that were otherwise identical to the grunts. “About a mile ahead.” The admin leaned forward and grabbed the radio in front of him.

“Sir, there is apparently something about a mile ahead of us, we are slowing down to check it out.”

“Very good.” Apollo replied, at the same time slowing down his chopper. Ahead of them, the military chopper slowed and started circling around a spot.
-----------------

Inside the building labeled Rocket Corporation, the tall man, now dressed in a black suit, sat down at his desk and swiveled his chair around to face a video conference call from his most trusted underling.

“Domino, how are you doing? You look lovely as always. Have you found my son yet?” The man asked.

“Thank you very much Giovanni,” the blond women giggled. “My contact apparently forgot where he had last seen Silver, so I was just about to go have a little chat and see if I can….ah...refresh his memory. I might just remind him how important his daughter is to him and how tragic it would be if she...disappeared.”

“Ha ha, very good.” He glanced down as his Persian leapt in his lap and curled up. He smiled slightly and pet its head, then continued. “At least you have made some more progress than my other commanders. I suppose thats one of the best things about you. My previous offer still stands if you would like it.” He looked at the woman, than disconnected from the call. He sighed then opened a drawer in his desk. He grabbed something out of it, then got up and walked out a side door into a massive bedroom. He set the item down on his desk, then looked into his closet. He withdrew a different suit, this one a dark gray, then quickly took off his previous suit and put the new one on. He walked into the bathroom, and checked his appearance in the mirror. Apparently satisfied with his appearance, he walked out back into the bedroom, grabbed the object, then walked out to the elevator. Once at the bottom, he swiftly walked across the lobby. In front of the building there was a black limo waiting for him. A man dressed in a black suit got out of the drivers seat and walked to the back door and held it open for him. Giovanni quietly slid into the back seat, then waited as the driver got in. “You know where to go,” He said.

-----------------
A black squad car pulled into the parking lot in front of the police department. Officer Jenny got out of the front seat, then opened the back door for Danielle and Gary.

“Thank you so much for the ride,” Danni said to Jenny. “Now we can get the Viridian gym that much quicker.”

“My pleasure, although you should know that the Viridian Gym hasn't been open recently. That means the next gym you should go to would be the gym in Pewter City. The leader is a cutie named Brock and he specializes in rock-types. Good luck,” she said cheerfully, winking at Danielle.

Gary watched as she walked into the building, then shook his head. “Should we go try to find the Pokémon Center?”

“Yeah, that would be a good idea. I'm starving.”

As they walked down the road, they suddenly heard, “ARE YOU FROM PALLET TOWN?” They both looked at each other, then crossed the street into the Pokémart. As soon as the doors slid open, the shopkeeper yelled at them. “ARE YOU FROM PALLET TOWN?”

“Yeah...why?”

“DO YOU KNOW PROFFESER OAK?”

“Yes?”

“CAN YOU GIVE THIS TO HIM?” the shopkeeper bellowed at them, spit flying across the room. All around the store dumbfounded customers were staring at him, with their mouth hanging slightly open.

Danni leaned back to avoid the flying spit.“I guess, although I don't know why you don't just send it to him through the PC.”

The doors opened again and Oak walked in. He looked over at the counter and said, “Ah, that must be order.” He walked over to the counter and grabbed then he looked over and saw Danni and Gary. “Ah, you two made it to Viridian. Why don't you come with me,” and with that he swept out of the building. Danni cast one more slightly concerned look at the shopkeeper, then quickly followed him out, with Gary right behind her. They all froze as they heard a explosion, then they all started running toward the sound.

-----------------
“T-to strong. Can't beat him,” said the black dressed man, as his Golbat crashed into a tree behind him.

“Ha. Your weak, and you honestly thought you could beat me?” The tall teen said. He was thin, with ink black hair and blue eyes, and was fairly tan. He looked down as his Staryu, which levitating slightly off the ground. “C'mon Ice Gem. Let's go.”

“<Certainly Kieran, but can we go somewhere there is water next time? I don't like not being in the water.>”

“Ha ha don't worry Ice Gem. We're outside of Cerulean, a town that is well known for having a lot of water. We're going to go see Bill and get a Pokémon from him, then we can go to the beach and you can swim around.”

“<Alright, that works for me.>” his Staryu said contentedly as the teen, Kieran laughed.

A little while later, they had made it to the huge mansion at the end of the Cerulean Cape. Not a 100 yards to their right was the ocean, with the sun setting and turning the water orange. Kieran smiled, then went to the front door of the mansion. He pressed the doorbell, then waited a few moments. The door opened, revealing a pretty girl in her late teens, with her red-orange hair pulled into a eccentric ponytail. She was wearing a mini-skirt and a tank top, and looked like she was going to go out for a photo shoot.

“Your the gym leader, Misty, right?” Kieran asked her.

“Yeah I am. Are you Kieran? Bill said that his younger brother would be showing up soon.”

“Yes I am,” as Misty moved to the side and let the younger teen in. He walked in, looking around. He looked back as a young man with glasses and light brown hair sticking up. His white shirt was untucked and slightly rumpled. His blue eyes looked over at Kieran.

“Kieran!” as he grabbed the younger boy into a bear hug. “I didn't expect you until tomorrow. Did you have any trouble getting here?”

“No not really. A couple Rocket's tried to steal my Ice Gem, but I beat them easily. Anyway look what I found here on the way,” as he pulled out a pokéball, and opened it, revealing a silvery-white fox shaped animal. “I found a shiny Eevee.”

“You should evolve it into Vaporeon,” Misty said. “Water types are amazing.”

“Actually I was thinking about evolving it into Espeon. I've always wanted a Espeon.”

“It's ironic you found a Eevee, because that's what the Pokémon I'm going to give you is.” Bill laughed then pulled out a pokéball. He handed it to Kieran, who opened it. A brown and white Eevee came out, who immediately walked over to the other Eevee as started smelling it. “I know that you will be a good trainer for those Eevee's.”

“Anyway, Kieran, are you taking the gym challenge? I would like to battle Bill's younger brother in a battle,” Misty asked him.

“No, I'm going to do the Colosseum challenge in the Johto. I'm not really all that interested in gym battles, no offense, but I will battle you if you want?”

“Ok...sounds like fun,” She said. She turned around and hugged Bill, and kissed him on the cheek. “ Meet me in the Cerulean gym at 10:00 tomorrow morning, Ok kid?” With that she walked out the door.

“Bill, are you going out with Misty?” Kieran asked incredulously.

“No...she needed help with her PC connection from her pokeballs...That's how she always is. She's a incredible flirt.”

-----------------

Back in Viridian, Oak led the two teens back to the Pokémon Center. They stopped as several officers taped off the area surrounding the Center. The Center was completely burned, with flames still spewing out, and a huge hole in the roof and part of the wall. There was large chunks off debris scattered around the area, and there where several badly charred bodies being removed. Several firefighters directing their Blastoise to use hydro pump on the fire.

Danni gasped her hands over her mouth. “What about Lucian? He was staying here.”

“I don't know. He told me earlier he was going to go train over on route 22, so hopefully that's where he is.” Oak said worriedly as a black limo pulled up. A tall man in his late 40's got out and walked over.

“What the hell happened here?” he asked to no one in particular. “Professor Oak. Do you know what happened?”

“I just got here, Mayor. I was bringing my young charges here to the Center when we heard the explosion and rushed here as fast as we could. What about you, Mayor Gaea, what are you doing here?”

“Same as you. I was driving to the gym leaders conference when we heard the explosion. I ordered the driver to come here. Who would bomb a Pokémon Center though?”

“How do you know it was a bomb? It could have been a gas leak,” Oak asked, giving the Mayor a odd look.

“I don't. I just thought because the Pokémon Center's pride themselves for being very safe, that it was more likely.”

“...Right.” Oak turned back to the wreckage, frowning slightly. The mayor smirked. He pulled out a phone and quietly texted a message to someone. He folded the phone back up, then nodded to his driver. The driver pulled out a remote and pressed a button on it.

-----------------

“Sir, the Pokémon Center in Viridian has had some sort of explosion. Giovanni just called and explained that as mayor, he was going to stay in the town until he figured out what happened there” a assistant said.

“Very well. Hmm...I wonder...” Lance said.

“You wonder what, sir?”

“Never mind, it's nothing.”

-----------------

“Boss said that no one knows how the explosion happened, Sir.”

“Very well. Put the kid in the cell.”

-----------------

Lucian woke up. He blinked several times. It was completely dark wherever he was. As he waited for his eyes to adjust he tried to move his hand to scratch his nose. He moved his hand about a inch before it was stopped. He tried again just to have the same results. His breathing quickly increased as he struggled some more. He looked and saw that his hands where chained. He tried to move his feet but to no avail. He quickly started hyperventilating, thrashing about in the chains, yelling at the top of his lungs. A door slammed open, filling the room with light, blinding Lucian. He felt someone smash their knee into his chest, then he felt a needle prick him in the neck. Whoever was on him got up and walked back to the door, shutting it again. He breathed heavily, then realized he was getting very sleepy. His last conscious thought before he fell asleep again was that he had to get out of there.

The End

Pokemon Revolution:Kanto Chapter 2

Chapter 2

“They didn't find any bodies matching Lucian's height and weight. I guess that means he wasn't in the Center at the time of the explosion. I'm going to have Officer Jenny fly a helicopter around the area and see if she can find him.” Oak said, with a distressed look on his face, nervously wringing his hands.
-----------------

Lucian coughed as he was roughly thrown into a chair. He blinked several times, and then saw a green haired man sitting across from him. “Who are you? Why am I being held prisoner?”

“I am, unfortunately unable to answer either of your questions. However I have a couple of my own questions, and I expect you to answer them or else your little Charmander will get bit by my Houndoom every time you refuse to answer one of my questions, or lie about one of my questions,” as a panel slid open behind him, showing Lucian's Charmander chained to a stake in the floor, with a huge Houndoom standing over it, bearing it's teeth. “Ready to start?”

Lucian just shook his head in disbelief.

“Fine. Question 1. How do you know Danielle Dionne?”

“W-we've been friends since elementary school. Her dad died, and I comforted her and we've been friends since,” He said, shaking his head. “What does this have to do with anything? You captured me just to ask questions about Danni?”

“Kid, shut up. Question 2. How much do you know about her Porygon2?”

“Her what? I don't know anything about her Porygon2. I didn't even know she had a pokemo-”

“Don't lie to me. Cerberus, use crunch on his Charmander.” His Charmander screamed out in pain. When the Houndoom let go, there was blood dripping from it's chin, and the Charmander's arm was mangled and bloody. The Charmander whimpered and cowered, with tears of pain forming in his eyes.

“Scorch, are you alright!?” Lucian shouted out. “You motherfucker, I don't know anything about Danni getting a Pokemon. I talked to her once after I left and that was just to see if she would be able to come up and come along with me.”

“One last question for now. What do you know about people born in the Viridian Forest?”

“Wh-what are you talking about?”

“Never mind. Throw the kid back in the cell.” Scorch cried out again as the Houndoom moved.

“<Sorry, kid, but orders are orders. Maybe your trainer should smarten up and tell the truth->”

“That's enough Cerberus. Come along.” With that Lance got up and walked out the door.
-----------------

Giovanni sat in his office. He stared down at the incident report for the Center. As far as he could tell, no one had seen his two grunts when they had grabbed the kid and and the one other grunt who has put the bomb under the oil tank in the basement. He smiled slightly, then got up and stretched. He walked over to the window and stared out at the sun rising above the city. His face was thoughtful as he considered something, then he went back to his desk and asked his secretary to call Professor Oak. He waited a moment for the call to go through.

“Professor Oak. I have some good news about your missing kid. Apparently a resident near the northern part of the city saw a teen matching his description leaving about the time of the explosion, and she said that he seemed to be in a hurry. So that means he wasn't anywhere near the Center when it blew up. However, the police would like to question him to know if he was in anyway involved or he knew who had placed the explosives. I don't personally think he was involved, but regardless, the police want to be able to clear him as a suspect.”

“Oh thank you so much Mayor,” Oak sighed in a relieved fashion. “I'll be sure to personally inform his family and let them know that he is okay. Thank you again for letting me know, and also good luck with your run for President. It would be nice if someone could get rid of these goddamned Team Rocket people.”

Giovanni smiled again as he hung up. He had told major news centers that he was going to run for President and get rid of the so-called Team Rocket that was plaguing the Kanto and Johto. This of course was all a lie, but anyway it helped his campaign out immensely and he was very comfortably in the lead, but regardless he continued to tell the citizens what they wanted to hear.
-----------------

“Oak just said that someone saw Lucian leaving Viridian yesterday. He said that he was probably heading up to Pewter City.” Gary said as Danielle very visibly relaxed and let out a relieved sigh. “Shall we head up to Pewter City and try to meet up with him?”

“Yeah, definitely. Thank god he's alive,” she said, now smiling. “Lets get our shit together then leave.

“Yeah.” Gary said, smiling slightly despite himself.

-----------------

“Clear the landing bay. Make sure that everyone has a stun gun ready. This thing isn't in a very good mood.”

The military chopper lumbered into view, with a large cage hanging below, with a very ticked red Gyarados inside, which was thrashing about, make the helicopter's speed very slow. The chopper settled down the cage into a corner of the helipad, then settled down in one of the two landing zones. A minute later a second, sleeker helicopter followed it's path and touched down. The Gyarados thrashed around, then suddenly flipped its cage over, making it roar in pain as its body slammed into the side.
“Stun it now.”

A split second after the order came, twelve rocket grunts all holding stun guns fired the beams at the Gyarados, causing it to collapse heavily onto the bars below it. Apollo jumped out of the sleek chopper, followed a moment later by Athena. They both walked over to the Gyarados, which was barely breathing, and then Apollo held out a black pokeball with a red R emblazoned onto the top half. He depressed the button in the center, and a red beam of light shot out and sucked the Gyarados in. He pocketed the pokeball, then looked at Athena, and then they both walked down the stairs at the other end of the helipad.

“I'm rather impressed with how fast you two recaptured it.” said a man sitting in the shadows at the opposite end of the room. He got up and slowly walked over to them, his Persian following him. Giovanni held his hand out for the pokeball, which Apollo wordlessly handed to him, then he frowned slightly, then continued. “I have a new assignment for you two. I want you to oversee the opening of the game corner in Celadon. And I also want one of you to have a grunt or two breakdown the magnet train. And make sure that it is known that Team Rocket did it.” They both saluted, then they both walked back up the stairs.

-----------------

Kieran and Bill walked into the Cerulean gym. Inside Misty was waiting, wearing just a bikini. She smiled at both of them, then motioned for them to follow her into the gym. Inside the main room, there was a huge pool, and on both sides there were bleachers. Currently they were empty, except Bill, who had gone and sat down in the front row. The only other person in the room was the referee, wearing a green shirt.

“This will be a one on one battle between the gym leader, Misty, and the challenger, Kieran. First Pokemon to faint will be the loser, with standard battling rules. Three, Two, One, go!” He shouted.

“Go Starmie,” Misty cried out hurling a white pokeball out, revealing a star shaped Pokemon which almost looked like two Staryu glued together. It spun around, then flashed its core, which was octagonal in shape.

“Oh, crap, that's a Starmie,” Kieran mumbled to himself. In a louder voice, he cried out, “Go Ice Gem!”

His Staryu came out and spun around several times before disappearing into the pool.

“Heh, this will be a interesting battle, won't it?” Misty said smirking slightly. “Starmie, start off with signal beam.”

“Ice Gem, jump out of the water to dodge.”

“Follow it Starmie.” as her Starmie spun out of the water a few feet away from Ice Gem, spraying Bill in the process.

“Now Ice Gem, use icy wind on it.”

“Shit...” Misty exclaimed, as her Starmie was lightly coated with a layer of ice. “Retaliate with water pulse.” Ice Gem crashed back into the water as it was hit by a jet of water.

“Damn...Ice Gem, you use signal beam on it.”

“Dodge it to- what the hell?”

“Icy Wind slows your Pokemon down, so now my Staryu is faster than your Starmie.” Kieran said, grinning. “Did you forget?”

“Damn...hmm, alright, Starmie use rapid spin on the wall to break the ice off of you.”

“What? Dammit, alright Ice Gem use another signal beam on it, fast while its still slower than you.” Ice Gem shot a beam of reddish-purple light out at the Starmie, causing it to smash much harder than intended into the wall. Starmie crashed down into water, where it floated motionlessly.

“Starmie is unable to m-” the referee started to say, but then stopped as Starmie spun slightly, flashed its core, then dove back under. “Continue the battle then.”

“Quick Starmie come up under Staryu, then use psychic on it.” Starmie shot out under Ice Gem, sending it flying into the air, then it used psychic and threw it into the wall, where it crashed down in the water completely motionless, it's core light barely visible. Kieran sighed then recalled his Ice Gem.

“Good match,” he said, frowning slightly

“Hey cheer up,” Misty said. “You did really good, considering you where up against a evolved Pokemon, and you were facing the same type.” They walked back over to the front room, and then she held her hand out. “Here I want you to have it. I insist,” as Kieran made to refuse it. “You deserve it. You were damn near close to knocking Starmie out.”

-----------------

It was humid out, with thunderclouds forming off towards the distance as Gary and Danielle headed out of Viridian. There were quite a few Butterfree flying about, collecting pollen from the various garden spread along the road. In one of the gardens, a pair of Machoke where helping plant some sort of crop, along with a pair of humans.
Danielle wiped some sweat off her forehead, then paused and got a drink of water, while Gary impatiently waited for her.

“C'mon, I want to get a Pidgey,” he said. “There where rumors of a Pidgey with different colors then normal, and I want to see if I can at least see it, if not catch it.”

“Alternate colors? You mean like my Porygon2?”

“Yeah, except in this case it's a yellowish-gold instead of the normal brown and white.”

“Oh, cool. Good luck finding it then, I guess,” she laughed. “Anyway, let's hurry up and get to the Viridian Forest. It'll be a lot cooler in there, plus I wanna see the shrine dedicated to Mew.”

They both resumed walking back up the road, both pausing occasionally to get a drink of water. About a mile ahead of them, a huge flock of Spearow scattered into the air, obviously scared by something. A animal with pure white fur, with the exception of its face, which a had black fur, as well as sickle protruding from its face, and it's black tail, which looked similar to a knife blade. It observed the surrounding area from a low cliff, then growled slightly and then muttered something.

“<The girl is in danger, and she is danger...but from what and why?>” It seemed to ponder the issue for a moment, then it leaped down cliff and hurtled into the forest. Meanwhile the flock of Spearow screeched overhead, all wheeling around the spot where the Absol had disappeared from sight.

“Look. See that flock of Spearow? I wonder what spooked them?” Gary asked aloud.

“Maybe there is a Pidgeot nearby? Remember Oak said that Pidgeot will feed on Spearow if there aren't any other types of prey nearby.”

“Hmm, maybe.” Gary didn't sound very convinced.

-----------------

The Absol hurtled through the forest, moving at a incredible pace, scaring many of the local Pokemon. Finally it burst into a clearing, and slid to a halt. At the other end of the clearing was another Absol. This one was more slender and was smaller than the other. She looked at him and spoke.

“<Shadow, you sensed it to?>” she asked in a soft voice.

“<Yeah I did. I sensed it almost two nights ago, and I've been running here since then. What about you Hayley, when did you feel it?” Shadow asked, his voice much deeper in comparison to Hayley's.

“<Yesterday. It isn't going to happen for another two months though, and you obviously know that, so why did you come down here?>”

“<I was curious, same as you. I might follow the girl around and see what danger she may be in. You?>”

“<Yeah...I wonder if it has anything to do with this Team Rocket.>”

“<Team Rocket? What's that?>”

“< Their a criminal group of Humans that captures Pokemon and extorts them for money or performs unspeakable deed's of evil on them. They've been incredibly active recently apparently, according to the hikers I listened to yesterday. They said that Team Rocket was tied into the human hierarchy they call a government. They hope that this man Giovanni, who is running for leadership of the hierarchy will be able to get rid of them, although they don't know that he is in fact involved with Team Rocket himself, and him being leader will make it ten times worse.>” Shadow closed his eyes for several seconds, apparently thinking, then he spoke.

“<Should we warn the humans?>”

“<No. They flee at the very sight of just one of our species, and two of us they would probably try to kill us. Remember, they think that we cause the natural disasters we try to warn them about.>”

“<Hmm, I suppose. Maybe I should stay closer to humans like you. It's been almost twenty years since I've come anywhere close to humans. At any rate, I think I will follow this girl around and keep a eye out for her. Are you going to come along?>”

“<Yes, I guess I will,>” she paused and then let out a short bark of laughter. “<I've always wanted to travel around.>”

Shadow laughed as well. “<What happened to Shade?>” he asked, remembering the male Absol who had been almost inseparable from Hayley. “<Where is he?>”

Hayley looked down and the muttered quietly, “< He wasn't as great as I though he was, so I ran away from him.>”

“<...I'm sorry.>

<Why? It wasn't your fault.” she laughed again, sadly this time. “<You've always been nice to me, though,>” smiling slightly at him.

Shadow studied her for a moment, then, “<I suppose.>”

-----------------

Danielle shivered slightly as she looked at the entrance to the Viridian Forest. The ancient trees towered above them as they stood there. It seemed that there was a cold breeze coming out of the woods. Danielle shuddered again. She didn't feel so good now, and she felt cold, despite the sun beating down on her.

“Are you okay? You don't look so good,” Gary asked, giving her a concerned look.

“I don't know...I just sort of get the feeling that I don't wanna go in there. And I feel a little queasy.”

Gary gave her a piercing look. “This is the only way to get to Pewter City without cut or a car. Besides, I thought you wanted to see the shrine for Mew?”

“Yeah...your right, it's probably nothing.” She smiled again, although it didn't quite reach her eyes, and Gary could see she wasn't all that thrilled about going in.

“Tell you what. We can rest out here for a bit, and I'll train my Pidgey, and you can rest up and maybe you'll feel better in a hour or so. How does that sound?”

“Okay...”

-----------------

“<What's up with the girl?>” Hayley asked. “<Most humans don't have a problem with going in to there. It's not really very big or scary, well at least the part the humans travel through.>”

“<Hmm...maybe, nah, I doubt it,>” Shadow replied. He studied the girl with his keen eyes. She was curled up, with her knees under her chin, watching her companion help his pet Pidgey fly better.

“<What?>”

“<Well, it seems as if she has some sort of connection with the forest. Look at way she looks at the forest. It's fairly obvious that she is feeling something about the forest at the moment, and judging by the way she is looking at it, it isn't something she want to face, confront if you will, so she is biding her time, trying to take as long as possible to go into the forest.>”

“<Really? No shit,>” she paused, a annoyed look on her face. “<Are you saying she might be resonating with the forest or something like that? I just couldn't come to that conclusion myself. Yes, thank you for explaining that to me,>” she snapped, sarcasm dripping from her words.

“<Mm, yes, but also don't forget that this is Mew's forest, and she, she has done many things to it, any Pokemon with any sense can feel the power coming out of the forest. It's not surprising that a human or two would be able to pick up on it if they really concentrated on it. Plus it doesn't help that that Celebi from the Ilex Forest in the Johto comes out here all the time to play with Mew. Celebi's presence in a forest makes it that power emanating from it that much more powerful.>” He studied Hayley. “<Regardless, it's apparent that she has some sort of connection with the forest. What it is, I don't know, but I'm definitely going to try and figure it out. It's not to often that we Absol sense a disaster revolving around a human's decision and that human can feel the power of Pokemon as well.>”

“<Hmm, she'll definitely be interesting to observe, to say the least.>”

“<Hayley?>”

“<Yes?>”

“<Do you know about that old castle ruin on the meteor mountain?>”

“<I've heard of it, I've never actually seen it myself. Why do you ask?>” she asked, curiosity visible in her eyes.

“<Those Team Rocket people, how do they dress?>”

“<They dress in black, with a red symbol on their front. Why?>”

“<They've been moving things around that castle. I had a vision of it, and in the vision there was a explosion, then it moved away to a near by cliff, showing Mewtwo, with the girl, there, and another, looking at it, watching it burn. What do you think it means?>”

“<Hmm, we'll find out, I would say.>”

“<I suppose so.>” They continued to watch as Gary trained his Pidgey. The Pidgey was soaring around, and it looked very happy as Gary had it do fancy maneuvers around the sky. Across the clearing, a Sneasel slid to a halt and hissed at the pair of Absol.

“<What do you want?>” Shadow asked the Sneasel warily. The Sneasel could be a threat, despite being outnumbered.

“<You two are in my territory.>” the Sneasel growled, flexing his claws. The movement didn't go unnoticed by Shadow, who stood up and bared his teeth.

“<Both of you cut it out,>”Hayley said, jumping between them. “<My apologies. We were unaware we were in someone's territory. We won't be here long, we are just observing this human,>” she said to the Sneasel, who narrowed his eyes, but retracted his claws somewhat.

“<Why would you watch a human?>” the Sneasel asked, taking a step forward to see what she was talking about. “<Is something going to happen to her? Is that why a pair of disaster-watchers like yourself are interested in her?>”

“<Something like that,>” Shadow replied, relaxing. The Sneasel seemed interested despite himself, and was unlikely to attack.

“<Am I right in presuming that you two are going to follow her around, and see what happens to her?>”

“<Yes, that was our intention. Why?>”

“<I was wondering if I might be able to tag along?>” He asked, looking down at his paws as he asked. He raised his head and asked, “Well?”

Shadow frowned slightly, then looked at Hayley, who shrugged. “<I suppose you could, but if I may ask, why do you want to come along?>”

The Sneasel looked at Danielle again then, then said, “<My intuition says there is something different about that girl, and I'm curious as to what it is. Add in the fact that not one but two disaster-watchers are watching her, and I think I'm right in assuming that this girl is different from other humans.>”

Shadow paused for a moment, and then said, “<Well you can come, but first, what is your name?>”

“<My name is Flash...for well you know, being faster than any other Sneasel in my litter.>” Flash said, looking down at his feet.

“<Ah...nice to meet you then. I am Hayley, and this is Shadow,>” who inclined his head.

“<I'll be back in a few minutes...I'm going to get my lunch,>” He said, grinning crookedly. He jumped forward and vanished from sight.

Hayley shook her head slightly. “<Well, he isn't lying about being fast, although I feel bad for whichever Pokémon he steals a egg from.>” Shadow merely chuckled, and sat back down.

-----------------

“There, Pidgey is doing great,” Gary said, as he threw himself down on the ground next to Danielle. “Hey are you alright? You haven't talked at all for a hour and a half.”

“Yeah, I was just thinking.”

“You feeling better?”

“I guess so. I'm feeling as good as I will I guess. How about we have something to eat before going in?”

“Sure.” Gary dug around in his bag, and then pulled out a map, and two slightly squashed sandwich's and two cans of mandarins. “Here.”

Danielle took them from him and opened the can first. “Thanks. What are you doing with the map?,” after she ate the can of mandarins.

“I was going to plan out out route, so we don't get lost somewhere.” He laughed, then bent down to study the map. “Hmm, well, Mt. Moon is apparently the best way to get to Cerulean after Pewter. In Cerulean, the gym leader is Misty, and she specializes in water types, so you won't really be able to use Larvitar. So you're going to have to do some training with Porygon. Speaking of which, what does it know for moves?”

Danielle dug in her pocket for a moment, then pulled out both of her pokeballs. She released both of them and watched as they stood blinking in the sun. She pulled out her pokedex and examined it. She was silent for a couple seconds then she spoke. “Larvitar knows bite, sandstorm, leer, and dig. Porygon knows psybeam, conversion, conversion2, trick room, icy wind and shock wave. So Porygon is all set to take out water types...although I suppose I should train them both, although, I'm not as worried about Porygon. It's had some training, plus it is evolved.” she paused and scratched her nose, thinking. “Larvitar is part rock...and he is ground, so he'll have a advantage over Brock, plus I can train him in the Viridian Forest. Larvitar learns rock slide fairly early, so I can use that to my advantage.”

“Don't forget that Larvitar grows slower than Pokemon like Porygon though,” Gary cautioned her. “My advice is to battle as many trainer's as you can from here to Pewter, so he is stronger than Porygon, because Porygon can catch up faster.”

“Mm, okay. I suppose we should get moving...it's almost one.” She said, casting a doubtful look towards the Viridian Forest. “At least the path goes through the smallest part of the woods.”

“Yeah, don't worry, we'll be through before you can even think about it. It's only like a mile on the path.”

“Okay then, let's go.”

Danni got up and recalled Porygon, then picked up Larvitar and carried him in her arms. She waited patiently for Gary to refold the map, and to put the empty cans back in his bag. She looked out at the edge of the field, then froze as she saw something white flash out of sight. She stood there staring at it, until Gary tugged at her sleeve to get her to follow. She frowned then followed.

-----------------

Inside the forest, it was about ten degrees cooler, with the sky just being visible above the canopy of trees about 100 feet over their head. The grass was fairly long to the sides of the path, and there was several bug Pokemon warily staring at them. In the middle of the path, it was dirt and fairly wide, with no grass in it. There was a a forest ranger marking a tree to their left. He looked over and nodded at them, then returned to the tree. Danielle swayed slightly, and her head started pounding, but she didn't say anything. Gary didn't seem to notice. He quickly strode forward after taking note of his surroundings.

“Come on, the path leads this way.” he said, confidently moving along.

“Yeah, okay,” Danni replied quietly, following him.

Neither of them noticed the Sneasel soundlessly jump from branch to branch after them, or the pair of Absol following just out of sight in the gloom behind the trees.

-----------------
“I challenge you to a battle,” a tall teen about fifteen said to Gary. He was wearing a straw hat, with long sandy hair under it. He had a undershirt on and cargo shorts, similar, but larger than the one's Danielle was wearing. His bare feet where slightly dirty, but he didn't seem to bothered by this. “My name is Ken, and I've never lost a battle before. Go Metapod,” he bellowed, sending out a bug encased in a hard shell.

“Ha, that's it? Go, Pidgey, oh and by the way my name is Gary. When you lose to me, you can tell all your friends you lot to Gary Oak,” he said, sending out the small bird. “Pidgey start off with a quick attack, then use gust.” He laughed as the Metapod was sent flying into a tree and knocked out. “I hope your other Pokemon is stronger than that.”

Ken grumbled something, glaring at Gary. “Go Beedrill,” he said, revealing a back and yellow striped bee, with six inch stingers on its front legs and and stinger about the same length on it's rear end. “Use Fury Attack on that retarded bird.”

The Beedrill quickly zoomed in front of Pidgey, then jabbed it several times before Pidgey fluttered back.

“Use twister Pidgey.” Gary shouted. Neither Gary or Ken noticed as Danni staggered, then slumped against a tree, breathing heavily. The Beedrill was caught in the twister, and spun around several times then flung into a tree. The Beedrill caught itself before it fell in the ground, but it seemed worn out. Sensing his advantage, Gary shouted “Quick attack.” Beedrill tried to flutter out of the way, but wasn't fast enough and was clipped by Pidgey's wing. It fell down on the ground heavily, and tried to get up, but wasn't able to.

“You did good Beedrill,” Ken said as he picked up the bug and carried it in his arms. “Haha that was a good match for my Pokemon. They were getting kind of cocky from winning so much.”

“<What are you talking about Kenny?>” his Beedrill said tiredly, and then it fell asleep. Ken pet it on its head then returned it to it's ball.

Gary laughed and was about to say something, but was interrupted by Larvitar tugging on his pant leg. “<Master Gary, something is wrong with Master Danielle>” He pointed at Danni, who was convulsing on the ground.

“OH SHIT.” Gary ran over to her and recalled Larvitar, then picked her up. “Can you help me?” he asked Ken. “Oh, fuck, she's bleeding.” He said as he saw the back of her t-shirt, which had ripped open from the left shoulder down about halfway down her back. “She must of cut herself when she fell or when she was thrashing around.”

“Yeah, come on my great Gramp's house is just down this path,” He said, running over to help Gary carry her. He grabbed her legs, then they both started running down a small dark path off to the side of the main path.

-----------------

Danielle opened her eyes. She looked around, then realized she was in a bed, completely naked under the blanket. She frowned then realized her head and the left side of her back were burning as if they had been dipped into lava. She started to contemplate why that was, but then slipped back into unconsciousness.

-----------------

“<What happened?>” Flash exclaimed. “<Is she alright?>”

“Yes, for the tenth time, she is fine. She merely passed out.” Shadow said wearily. He had endured the Sneasel's questions ever since she had passed out. They were standing outside the small log cabin in which she was inside.

“<Hey, no one is inside right now except her.>”

“<So?>”

“<So, I was thinking that we could sneak inside and see what's up with her.>” Flash explained this like it was blindingly obvious. Shadow sighed and was about to say something, but was interrupted by Hayley.

“<Actually that isn't a half bad idea. Shadow you keep watch outside and Flash and I will go inside and see what we can find out. Okay? Good.>” With that she and Flash slipped around the corner and into the house. Shadow sighed, then paced back and forth.

Inside, in the main room, the walls where lined with books and there was a pair of chairs, and a table, which had some rolls on it. Flash walked up and grabbed one and ate it, then offered another to Hayley, who accepted it and slowly ate it.

“<Mm, these are good,>” She said, then she reared up and put her front paws on the table and grabbed another one. Flash laughed and then started examining the room some more. Behind the main room, divided by a counter, was the kitchen. Of to the left where a pair of bedrooms, and to the right was the bathroom. Flash opened the door to the first bedroom. Inside was Danielle, who's bare back was facing them, a large cut visible from her left shoulder down her shoulder blade. Flash jumped up easily onto the table beside the bed and peered at her. He crouched down and hissed slightly as she rolled over in her sleep.

“<Do you feel that?.>” Hayley asked, frowning, her head cocked slightly

“<What?>”

“<It's like a heavy blanket being pressed down over my senses. I can barely see anything from the future at all.>”

“Uh, sure...you'll have to explain this to me later, okay?>” With that he walked over to her bag and pulled out her trainer license. He studied it for a few moments.

“<What does it say?>” Hayley asked, peering over his shoulder. Flash looked at her, then shook his head and started to read.

“<Her name is Danielle Dionne, she is sixteen years old, her birthday is July 31, and she is from Pallet Town.>”

“<Danielle...Danielle...hmm, I like that name.>”

Flash rolled his eyes, then put the license back in her bag. They walked out of the room, with Hayley inspecting the kitchen, leaving Flash to look around the living room. He climbed up the side of one of the bookcases, leaving behind long claw marks. On top, there was a great deal of dust, as well as a sharply hooked claw. He looked over his shoulder at Hayley, who was busy sniffing the wood stove. He quickly reached out and grabbed it, then jumped lightly down.

“<Come on Hayley, let's go.>”

“<Okay.>” As she walked by Flash looked the claw. He smiled slightly then followed her out. He didn't know why, but he liked the feeling of this claw in his paw, and the way it conformed perfectly to his paw, almost as if it was a third claw custom tailored just for him. It gave him the feeling of immense power, and somehow made him feel rather lucky.
-----------------

Danielle groaned then pushed herself up. To her surprise, she was wearing a black dress, one of the tight, frame conforming dresses with spaghetti straps. She frowned, then sat with her legs hanging over the edge of the bed. She remembered her back hurting, but it felt fine right now. She reached back and felt her back. She was surprised when she felt a slight bump on each of her shoulder blades. She looked around the room, then spotted a wall length mirror behind her. She looked over her shoulder and saw the long scab on her back. She froze, then quickly checked the rest of her body. She found nothing, just the cut on her back.

“What the fuck...where did this come from?”she asked herself, her hand unconsciously wandering back over it and rubbing it. She sat back down, rubbing her back. Just then the door opened. Standing in the doorway was a ancient man, who appeared fairly tall despite his obvious age. His face was adorned with a long, braided white beard and a bald head. He had bloodshot gray eyes and a hooked nose, and his stooped form was resting on a carved cane. He was wearing a white tunic of some sort. On his shoulder was a tiny green bird, with a small yellow beak and beady black eyes.

“<Ah, she is awake, right on schedule,>” the Natu said in a soft voice. It was apparently a girl, judging by it's voice.

“Hello child. My name is Carter, and this is my Natu, Carla, she likes to predict things like that for the heck of it. By the way, the cut on your back was from when your were convulsing on the ground.” The wizened old man leaned against the doorway, staring at her.

“Uh...hello Carter...my name i-”

“Your name is Danielle, yes I know. Your young friend Gary was quite worried about you. He thought you had a seizure or something like that.”

“...Do you know what happened and where did this dress come from?”

“Yes I know what happened, but first you should eat. The dress was my great-granddaughter's. She doesn't need it anymore, so I figured you could use it better than her.”

“What do you mean she doesn't need it anymore?” Danielle asked, her eyes narrowed slightly.

“She passed away two years ago, from leukemia.”

“Oh...I'm sorry, that was rude of me.”

“No matter, she is in a better place now.”

He walked over and held out his hand for Danni, who grasped it. Again, despite his age, his grip was very firm, and he didn't have any problem pulling Danielle up. She thanked him then followed him into the main room. On the table was bowl of steaming onion soup, with a plate of biscuits next to it. Carter held out one of the chairs for her, then pushed it in for her. She thanked him again, then started eating. “Here, eat up. It's not much, but someone took some of the biscuits earlier,” he said in a loud voice. Outside, Flash and Hayley both flinched somewhat. Shadow stared at them for a moment, then shook his head.

-----------------

Lucian groaned as he pushed himself up. He looked around at the now dimly lit room, which was due to the wavering flame on Scorch, who was curled up tightly in a ball next to him. He stretched his arms out and groaned again as his bruised body stretched out. He then shook his Charmander awake, then quietly checked it, taking note of its injured arm. He ripped his grimy shirt up and bandaged the arm up.

“<Thank you master,>”Scorch said, seemingly surprised.

Lucian smiled. “It's nothing. Now, anyway, we need to start training.” He looked around, taking note of the fairly large cell. “I don't know how long we are going to be in here, so we might as well make the most out of it. Uh...well, I'm not sure how to proceed. I've taken karate, but I don't know if you want to learn any?”

“<Very well master. If karate is what you can teach, then teach me as you see fit.>”

Lucian smiled again, then pushed his long hair out his face. “Just call me Lucian, okay?”
-----------------

“So how long are we going to stay here?” Gary asked Kenny as he stumbled over a fallen branch on the path.

“Not sure...all I know is My great-gramps wants to teach that girl how to do something. I figured that in the mean time, we can train our Pokemon, and maybe you can help my Beedrill fly better.” he asked, looking down at his feet as he asked.

Gary studied him for a minute. “I like the way you think Kenny. And sure, I'll try and help your Beedrill fly better.” They walked down the dark path for a couple more minutes, then they emerged into a open clearing. Kenny walked over to the center, where there was a stump. He placed the bag against the stump then bent down and pulled something out. “What is that?” Gary asked curiously.

“This? This is a Pokemon egg. I found it in the main path a couple weeks ago, and I've been carrying it around since.”

“May I hold it?”

“Sure, just don't drop it.” He laughed, then handed the egg to Gary. The egg was about 8 or 9 inches tall, and was a deep purple color. Gary examined it for a couple more seconds, then carefully handed it back to Kenny. Kenny carefully accepted it, then gently set it down against the stump.

“Go Pidgey and Squirtle!” Gary cried out as he tossed their respective balls into the air. Kenny followed his lead and sent out his Pokemon. “What Pokemon is that?” Gary asked, pointing to a third Pokemon Kenny had sent out.

“It's a Heracross. I just caught it yesterday.”

“Hmm, wow it looks pretty strong.” Gary held out his pokedex and read it's description. They both stood for a couple minutes, discussing how they could maximize the training for both of their teams. Finally, they both walked over to opposite ends of the clearing, and had a Pokemon battle.

-----------------

“<I still don't see why you don't quit?>”

“It's not that easy. As soon as I leave, I become a hunted man. Every team will be looking for me. It's not as easy as it sounds.”

“<Hide then. You and I both know you excel at surviving in the wilderness. We could go over by Mt. Moon. I hear there is a nice ruined castle somewhere near the top, very isolated from the rest of the world.>”

“Hmm, maybe. I dunno at the moment. I don't want to have to take her Pokemon from her, and I definitely don't want to hurt her. I feel bad enough about having her friend held prisoner.”Lance sighed, then sent out his Golbat, which screeched loudly upon being sent out in the bright sun.

“<Argh, I told you I don't like the sun,>” the Golbat said, quickly flying over underneath a tree into the shade there. “<What?>”

“Vampire, can you fly over to Mt. Moon and check out the old castle their? Tell me if there is anyone living there.”

“<...Fine. But you owe me one. You know I hate the sun.>”

Lance chuckled, then watched as his Golbat flew off, making sure to stay under trees. He then bent down to his small bag he had set by his feet, and pulled out a can of ravioli. He opened the can, then took a fork out of his bag, then sat down and started eating.

“<You should check the Team Rocket archives>”

“Why?” Lance asked, seemingly surprised by the Houndoom's suggestion.

“<Giovanni seems way to interested in your sister to have it just be about the Porygon she has. Knowing him, he could probably care less about it. There's something else he wants.>”

Lance studied the sky, his brow furrowed in thought. “Okay, but I don't know what your expecting to find. As far as I know, until she got her Porygon, she had no connection at all to Team Rocket.” He scraped the sides of the can, then put it into a bag, and put the now empty bag back in his bag.

“<Why don't you send Raven out? I bet she would like to fly around for awhile, since you haven't done anything at all with her since you caught her.>” Cerberus frowned at Lance. “< Most Pokemon don't like being cooped up in a pokeball for two weeks, especially right after they were caught.>”

“Okay.” With the click of a button, a jet black crow-like bird came out of the pokeball. It hopped on the ground, stretching its wings.

“<Finally. I thought you had forgotten about me.>” She said, while glaring at Lance.

“I'm sorry, I haven't had a chance to let you out.”

“Bullshit. You let that Houndoom out of it's pokeball all the time.” Lance sighed then leaned back and ignored the Murkrow.

-----------------

“So...do you know why I collapsed?”

“No I don't but there is something different about you,” Carter replied. He was hunched over, with his elbows resting on the table and providing support for his head. He had a thoughtful expression on his wrinkled face as he contemplated the issue. “Your on a journey to become the Champion, am I right?”

“Yeah, why?”

“I suggest that when you get to Saffron, seek out Sabrina. She'll be able to help you understand what is so different about you.”

“How do you know Sabrina?”

“She is one of my great-granddaughters. She is the most powerful human psychic that there has been for several centuries. Don't worry, she is a lot kinder then she used to be.”

“Haha, okay. So why do you live out here, in the middle of the Viridian Forest?” She asked, looking around once more at the trees outside. “It seems very peaceful, if not remote.”

“I live out here because this is where my family has always lived. Their once used to be a village out here, but in one of the past wars, it was destroyed and no one bothered rebuilding it. IF you want I can show it to you?”

“Ah, I would like that,” she responded, smiling. “How far away is it?”

“There is a trail behind my house, and it leads to the former village. The trail itself is about 4 or 5 miles long. I used to walk it every day, but alas, in my old age it's much harder to walk that distance. You might want to change into something that is more comfortable for walking some distance,” he said, waving at her dress she was wearing. “Your clothes are on the clothesline out back.”

-----------------

Hayley slowly slid behind the bush that concealed her from her prey, A young Pidgey. She hesitated for a moment, then leapt out on to it and snapped its neck quickly by shaking it. As she tore into the Pidgey, her mind wandered back to that moment in the house, where her ability to see the future had been practically nullified. She paused for a moment, thinking it over.

-----------------

“Thank you carter for letting us stay here and train.” Danielle waved at the old man as Gary and her walked away from the house. The old man smiled as he leaned on his walking stick.

“Wait up!” They both stopped as Kenny ran up to them, with his Egg clutched under his arm. “Here I want you to have this,” he said to Gary, who looked surprised as he accepted the purple egg from Kenny. “I think it will be better off with you guys. Make sure you guys don't lose to anyone.”

“Will do,” Danni said, saluting him.

They walked back to the main path, with Danni turning and waving one more time before the house disappeared from sight. On the way, Danni was unusually quiet, keeping her head down as she walked.

“I challenge you to a battle!” A scrawny boy of about 12 was looking expectantly at Danielle. “Well, I challenged you, send out your Pokemon.”

“Fine.” She casually pulled out Larvitar's pokéball and tossed it up, releasing it in a burst of light. The boy frowned then sent out his own Pokemon, a Kakuna. “Thats all? Fine Larvitar, use rock slide on it.” The boy cried out as Larvitar pulled a rock out of nowhere and threw it on top of the Kakuna, pinning it below, and knocking it out. “Return.” She said as Gary stared at her, his eyebrows raised.

-----------------

Gary Blinked as they strode out of the Viridian Forest. They were instantly engulfed in blinding sunlight and the overwhelming humidity. Gary blinked several more time, allowing his eyes to adjust. He looked around, taking the surroundings in. On the left of path was a pond several hundred feet across, and probably 2000 feet long, with a small beach next to it. Several Children where playing in the water with a Marill and a Psyduck. “Want to take a break?”

“Sure, we can have lunch.” Danielle sighed, then walked down on embankment next to the beach and sat down.

Gary raised his eyebrows again, then followed her. He took of his bag, and pulled out several sandwich's and two water bottles, and gave her her share.
-----------------

Gary jolted awake as someone shook his shoulder. He looked up and saw one of the little children worriedly looking at him. “Mister, there is a storm coming.” He looked up into the sky at the clouds getting steadily darker.

“Ok, thanks.” With that the kid ran off with his friends. Gary watched him for a moment, then leaned over and shook Danni slightly.

“What?”

“We need to get going. There's a storm coming.” With that he put his stuff back in his bag, then got up, Danni following his lead. They both ran up the embankment, then started quickly walking down the road as the first raindrops started coming down. A couple minutes later, they were running as rain sheeted down almost horizontally. They both gave a sigh of relief as they rounded a bend and saw Pewter City ahead, with the Pokemon center right in front of the city.

“Wow, you two are wet.” Nurse Joy smiled warmly as they ran into the Center. She gave them a room key without being prompted and told them what room number it was.

“I call shower first.” Danni said as soon as they were out of earshot from the nurse. Gary groaned, then continued up the stairs to their room. The room, room 412, was comfortably warm, with twin beds, a small kitchen area, and a bathroom off the entryway. Both of the windows were rattling slightly as the rain pounded into them. Danni immediately headed into the bathroom, leaving Gary to set his stuff down. He then fell backwards onto the bed, stretched out. He waited almost a hour for Danni to get out of the shower, then another 20 minutes as she fixed her hair up.

-----------------

“<Jesus I hate this rain,>” Hayley snapped, trying to conform her body to the contour of a tree, and failing miserably. “<I just washed my fur like two hours ago, and now look at. Shut up.>” she snapped as Flash and Shadow both looked away, trying not to laugh.

“<You know, we're lucky there is this park here. Otherwise we wouldn't know when they left this city,>” Shadow said. They had been closely shadowing Gary and Danielle since they had left Carter's house. When the had entered pewter, they had walked down the street towards the dumpster behind the Poke Center, but unfortunate a pair of Officers walking down the street has found them and chased them off with their Growlithes. So now they where huddled under a cluster of trees, shivering as the cold rain beat down on them.

“<Yeah we're real lucky. We're out hear in the shitty rain, while they are about a mile away, in a nice warm building. Yeah, we obviously got the better end of the deal.>”Hayley snapped.

“<I'm going to steal some food? Would you two like any?>”

“<No thanks.>” The pair of Absol answered simultaneously.

“Suit yourself, but when you two are hungry don't whine to me.” With that Flash rocketed out of sight.

And I think I'm going to end this chapter here.
