Hot on the heals of the Holiday 2025 — Double Candy Research event that's launching next week in Pokémon Sleep, the New Year 2026 event will begin starting Monday December 29th. Pokémon that made their debut in the game in 2025 will be more likely to appear during this event, with some species making special appearances on Greengrass Isle.

New Years 2025
The event will allow Researchers to participate and gain bonuses regardless of where they conduct their sleep research, with the following bonuses active throughout the event period:
  • Researchers can encounter a few Pokémon of different sleep types regardless of their own sleep type for the day.
The following additional bonuses will also be available during specified periods:
  • 1st Week of the Event (December 29th through January 4th)
    • Researchers will receive ×1.5 more Pokémon Candy from their first sleep research session each day
    • Helper Pokémon's main skills are ×1.25 more likely to be triggered
    • Main skill levels of helper Pokémon will be boosted by 1 level
    • January 1st only: Drowsy Power will receive a ×3 bonus multiplier
  • 2nd Week of the Event (January 4th through 11th)
    • ×1.5 Dream Shards will be received for all sleep research conducted.
    • Strength gains from dishes will be multiplied by ×1.25.
      • This bonus is multiplicative, so Extra Tasty dishes will receive a ×2.5 total bonus through most of the week, and a 3.75× total bonus on Sunday January 11th)
    • The Candy Cram-o-Matic will be available up to four times per day
      • This event-limited function allows Researchers to effectively gamble with their unwanted Pokémon Candy, allowing them to spend an amount of Dream Shards plus 40 Pokémon Candy to get one M-sized candy of a random type. Rarely, Researchers will get a Great Success and receive two M-size candies of a random type instead.
      • Researchers will have only a limited ability to influence the type of Type Candy they receive, with the type being slightly biased towards the types associated with the Pokémon Candy consumed, however there is no guarantee that the type received will correspond to these types.
      • The amount of Dream Shards increases for each use, resetting at the end of each day.
Researchers will also have access to a special Event Exchange to acquire a variety of valuable items, including (but not limited to) Main Skill Seeds, Poké and Great Biscuits, and Handy Candy S. Dream Coins that can be spent in the Event Exchange will be obtained primarily through Sleep Research, with the number of Dream Coins obtained depending on the species of Pokémon and sleep styles that Researchers encounter each time. Researchers will also be able to collect Dream Coins from completing a set of special limited-time missions that will be added on top of the standard weekly missions, and as a rare reward from the Research Community. Researchers in countries where they are unable to access the Research Community screen will receive limited-time special gifts of 70 Dream Coins at the beginning of each week of this event, on December 29th and January 4th.

These Pokémon will only appear for Sleep Research on Greengrass Isle during these specified periods, or until January 19th at 3:59am (UTC) if the appropriate Incense is used. As with the New Years 2025 event, it's likely that researchers who already hold Incense for any of these Pokémon will be able to make them appear for Sleep Research on Greengrass Isle ahead of the formal beginning of the event, though this exact date will of course not be formally announced.

Researchers should also note the following for this event:
  • The daily rollover for the New Year 2026 event is at 4:00am local time.
  • Event bonuses for this event apply regardless of which site players conduct their sleep research in.
  • Event bonuses apply only for sleep tracking that begins within the event period, and do not apply to sleep tracking during the tutorial, or to sleep data tracked before the event, even if the researcher waits to review their sleep research after the event has started.
  • Sleep data tracked during the event will receive event bonuses, regardless of if the researcher waits to review their sleep research until after the event has concluded.
  • The Candy Cram-o-Matic function will only be available during this event. While Candy Cram-o-Matic may be unlocked in another event in future, the amount of Candy produced and consumed, the multiplier for Dream Shards consumed, the function can be used in one day, and other details may be different in future events.
