To mark the festive season, Pokémon Sleep will be running a special Holiday 2025 — Double Candy Research event later this month, starting the Monday before Christmas, December 22nd, at 4:00am local time, and running through to Monday December 29th at 4:00am local time. Spheal wearing a holiday wreath, Togedemaru, Cetoddle, and Cetiitan will all be making their Pokemon Sleep debuts alongside this event, while Santa Hat Pikachu and Eevee also makes their returns.

To participate and gain bonuses from this event, players will need to conduct their sleep research for this week on Greengrass Isle or Greengrass Isle (Expert), with the following bonuses active throughout the event period:
  • Main skill Dream Shard Magnet S will be twice as effective.
  • Snorlax on Greengrass Isle or Greengrass Isle (Expert) will have Rawst Berries and Belue Berries, found on Ice-type and Steel-type Pokémon respectively, set as their favorite Berries (other favorite berry types will be selected at random).
    • On Greengrass Isle (Expert), Snowlax's main favorite berry will be set to Rawst Berries, with Belue Berries set as one of its sub-favorites.
  • Each time when Ice-type or Steel-type helper Pokémon bring ingredients, they will bring one extra ingredient
  • Ice-type and Steel-type helper Pokémon's main skills are ×1.25 more likely to be triggered
  • Main skill levels of Ice-type and Steel-type helper Pokémon will be boosted by 3 levels
  • Researchers can encounter a few Pokémon of different sleep types regardless of their own sleep type for the day.
  • Researchers will have access to the limited-time Candy Boost Function
    • This event-limited function will give Pokémon 2× the effect from candies, at a cost of using 5× times the amount of Dream Shards per candy.
    • Candy Boost can be used with up to 500 candies per day.
The following additional bonuses will also be available during specified periods
  • December 24th:
    • Researchers will receive a limited-time Dream Gift.
    • ×2 Dream Shards will be received for all sleep research conducted.
  • December 25th:
    • Researchers will receive a limited-time Dream Gift.
    • ×3 Dream Shards will be received for all sleep research conducted.
    • Researchers will receive 1,225 bonus Sleep Points.
  • December 28th:
    • ×3 Dream Shards will be received for all sleep research conducted.
  • All other event days:
    • ×2 Dream Shards will be received for all sleep research conducted.
The two Dream Gifts are a series of once-per-day gifts that players will be able to claim in-game each day by logging in and tapping a gift that appears next to Snorlax each morning. Players who miss logging-in on a day for whatever reason will not be able to receive their gift for that day. Players who do log-in but who fail to immediately claim the gifts will still be able to receive them from their Gift Box however. Additionally, new players will not be able to receive these gifts while they complete the tutorial. These gifts are the same for all players, but the order in which players receive them will be random.

Spheal (Holiday), Togedemaru, Cetoddle, and Cetitan will all be making their Pokemon Sleep debuts alongside this event, from Monday December 22nd at 3:00pm local time. As with other recent Pokémon debuts, players who are in the middle of Sleep Research at the time these Pokémon debut should have a chance of seeing it when they complete their sleep research.

Spheal (Holiday), a Spheal wearing a holiday wreath, is the game's latest event-exclusive Pokémon. Spheal (Holiday) collects Rawst Berries. As with Pikachu (Holiday) and Eevee (Holiday) before it, Spheal (Holiday) will only appear after the event if players use a Spheal (Holiday) Incense item.

As with other Ice-type Pokémon, Cettoddle and Cetitan collect Rawst Berries, and have the Slumbering sleep type, corresponding to non-rapid eye movement sleep (NREM sleep), also known as deep sleep. Cettoddle will appear at Greengrass Isle, Snowdrop Tundra, and Greengrass Isle (Expert). Following the Holiday 2025 event, Cetian will only appear at Snowdrop Tundra and Greengrass Isle (Expert). As of writing, no details have been released on these Pokémon's Main Skills, or on which ingredients they will typically collect.

Togedemaru meanwhile collects Belue Berries, and has the Snoozing sleep type. Togedemaru will appear on Greengrass Isle, Snowdrop Tundra, Old Gold Power Plant, Amber Canyon, and Greengrass Isle (Expert). As of writing, no details have been released on which ingredients Togedemaru will typically collect. The main skill is Nuzzle (Energizing Cheer S), which restores energy to one random Pokémon, and may occasionally grant that Pokémon a main skill activation bonus allowing it to trigger its main skill one additional time on top of its regular activations. The probability of this bonus depends on the target Pokémon's normal chances of triggering their main skill. Pokémon who already have the main skill activation bonus cannot receive the bonus again, and the main skill activation bonus will be removed if you conduct sleep research or when you move to another site.

As with previous Pokémon debuts, it's likely that Incense for each of these new Pokémon will become available in special bundles available for purchase in-game from shortly before the event, as well as from special missions for the event on top of the standard weekly missions.

Additionally, the following Pokémon will appear more frequently during sleep research on Greengrass Isle and Greengrass Isle (Expert) throughout the event:
  • Much Greater Encounter Chance
    • Spheal (Holiday), Togedemaru, Cetoddle, Cetitan.
  • Greater Encounter Chance
    • Pikachu (Holiday), and Eevee (Holiday).
  • Slightly Greater Appearance Rate
    • Vulpix (Alolan Form), Ninetales (Alolan Form), Delibird, Spheal, Sealeo, Walrein, Snover, Abomasnow, Glaceon, Pawmi, Pawmo, and Pawmot.
Vulpix (Alolan Form), Ninetales (Alolan Form), Sealeo, Walrein, Snover, Abomasnow, Pawmo, Pawmot, and the newly debuting Cetitan all do not normally appear for research on Greengrass Isle, but will be appearing exclusively for this event. After the event has concluded, they will temporarily remain available on Greengrass Isle until January 5th at 3:59pm for Researchers who use their Incense. The Holiday attired Pokémon similarly will cease appearing naturally after the event, but will continue to be available through Incense, and will almost certainly reappear in next year's event.

Researchers should also note the following for this event:
  • The daily rollover for the Holiday 2025 — Double Candy Research event is at 4:00am local time.
  • Event bonuses for this event apply only for sleep data tracked in Greengrass Isle.
  • Event bonuses apply only for sleep tracking that begins within the event period, and do not apply to sleep tracking during the tutorial, or to sleep data tracked before the event, even if the researcher waits to review their sleep research after the event has started.
  • Sleep data tracked during the event will receive event bonuses, regardless of if the researcher waits to review their sleep research until after the event has concluded.
  • Event bonuses cannot raise main skill levels beyond the max main skill level. For Pokémon already on a player's team at the start of the event, if their main skill had procced but had not yet been triggered prior to the start of the event, the trigger of the main skill may not include the bonus effect.
  • The Candy Boost function will only be available during this event. While Candy Boost may be unlocked in another event in future, the amount of EXP gained and/or the Dream Shard consumption of Candy Boost may be different in future events.
Though not explicitly noted in the event information, it is likely that, as with the similar bonus in the Halloween 2024 event, the bonus that raises Ice-type helper Pokémon's main skills is capped at the normal maximum level and cannot surpass it. In some circumstances with the bonus for Ghost Pokémon in the Halloween 2023 event, Pokémon already on the team before the commencement of the event would not always trigger this bonus the very first time their main skill was triggered during the event. It's not clear if this is still the case with this event, or if that was perhaps silently changed in recent game updates.
