Because the magazine where it was being published ended its own run at the beginning of this year or something like that.

We still hope it won't be dropped, and that we'll see more of it in another 'zine.

well hold on that makes me more confused, how does HGSS have a chapter then?
I saw Platinum had three and then HGSS started

HGSS is published in another magazine; it's not the same, and it never was.

Which is unfortunate, because instead of having the Gold plot and the Silver plot running side by side, we could have the Platinum and HGSS plots developing together instead, for an awesome crash towards the end...

so the same manga is running in two different magazines??

Yeah! Isn't that amusingly abusive? :XD2:

I mean, the other manga is yet without conclusion, and this new chapter is getting the spotlight in such manner!

...not that I'm complaining. I love HGSS. But I'm usually able to acknowledge this kind of things anyways.

I wonder how its going to interrupt the story flow
like what if there is enough chapters for a HGSS volume before there is enough for a platinum volume

Ugh, yeah, I know! I was thinking about that some days ago, when I began counting the chapters of DP to see how many volumes it'd be until HGSS... and then I realized Platinum wasn't even half-started... I'm so worried...

I'm assuming Platinum will be released in volumes only... Is HGSS still running at the moment? I thought both of the arcs were stopped. So, it's Gold and Silver's stories running in two different magazines, yes?

Yup, HGSS is still running; it's the only arc running, actually. The August preview is out by now, too...

...and I dunno about Platinum, sorry. That's all I know.

i was wondering this too. also wondering about how finished platinum is - like, did they finish platinum already or are they making platinum and hgss at the same time?? :S

well from what I know about the manga world, usually mangaka only write a chapter at a time, rarely do you see two different series running at the same time, let alone two different stories of the same manga...

so I'm thinking probably platinum ended, and just no one realizes it?

I'm positive they have the storyboards for the Platinum arc finished, it's just that they didn't actually draw any of it yet. I can see why, they probably don't want another MATO incident that would make it hard for Satoshi-sensei to use his hands.

it shouldn't be a problem if they're putting out a chapter a week, the whole MATO thing was a medical problem, I don't think it had much to do with the amount of work...

has anyone actually been reading thins manga weekly that can clear up all this confusion??

... You realize that manga-ka get medical issues from work overloads all the time, right?

yes, but from what I heard it didn't sound like a work overload thing...
especially because MATO only had to draw it, no story to think about either

So? Drawing takes it's toll, especially if she was the only one doing it and had no assistants. To be honest, if I had to draw in her style and with those tones for 9 volumes straight, I'd have pains too. It actually hurts me just thinking about it, I can't deal with the whole "detailed chibi" thing she does :/. I'd have to use a tightened grip to draw all the characters, and if she drew this way then it's no wonder she got ill.

well I'd say if you look at mangaka like Takeshi Obata or even Tite Kubo, they have much more detail than MATO usually had, and the're still alive and kickin...

I think MATO's disease was not related to manga
