I bought this Japanese Pokemon game last week from a second hand store for $2 and it comes with a video tape and I am sure it's a trading card game because it came with some pieces, trading cards and a paper board. I had seen it in the store window the week before I bought it and it was never opened. I bought Pokemon Blue at the same place for $10 in perfect condition and it was only played once.

Also on the same day, I bought a Pokemon thermos with Pikachu and the words Pocket Monsters on it from a garage sale near the store

Ohhhhh, are the cards seperated into two decks, marked with a Bulbasaur or a Squirtle? Because if so that's quite a rare item you have.

You hit the nail on the head! That is the exact item I have!

The game box has Japanese Katakana written on it and in the corner is the Pocket Monsters logo

That's awesome. And you got it for two bucks?

Would you mind if I made this into a "rare finds" thread and moved it to the Collectibles forum?

Yeah, I don't mind

I did get it for $2

I originally thought it was 2 videos with episodes on it until I looked at it when I bought it

Awesome!

Well, now that it's in here, I can share my own story. I was at Japan Fest at Uwajimaya once (it's an Asian grocery store that hosts a bunch of festivals for various cultures throughout the year), and there was a Japanese video store that was having a sale. I can't read Japanese, but I can make out the logo for Pokémon, so I asked what these two videos were...and they were Raikou: Legend of Thunder.
This was back before the dub, and even before the fansub was readily available, so it was extremely awesome. Expecially since they were two bucks each.

I also have a Cantonese translation of Gen-Denki Pikachu with the original art still intact
