Better description: Am I the only one who has caught or raised a Pokémon to learn a move purely because they saw the Pokémon in the anime with that move?

I have one example: It took me forever but I managed to get a Charizard that has Mega Punch as a move purely base upon Pokémon Origin and watching Mega Charizard X knock the hell out of Mewtwo with a Mega Punch.

Let me know if I'm not the only one.... I hope I'm not haha

You're not, I spent forever trying to get a Pikachu with Iron Tail, thank Arceus for Move Tutors in ORAS :p I was gonna give my Mega Charizard X Red's Origins moveset (Fire Blast, Swift, Mega Punch, Slash), but I decided to just do my own.

I did that one too but I did that one very early, when Iron Tail was still a TM. And I pretty much did Reds Charizard except I didn't like the idea of having Charizard only really having one STAB move so I gave him Dragon Claw instead of Slash. I had to give him Swift through HG

I am a figure-conscious person. Therefore, even though the move is so cool in the anime, but if the damage, accuracy and type is not that good in the game, I will not use it.

With the exception of Zekrom. I really find Fusion Bolt to be so cool in the movie that I have to choose Pokemon White version just to use Fusion Bolt. And I was not disappointed. With 100 damage and 100 accuracy, I think it is coolest move of a Legendary Pokemon.

In Pearl I didn't evolve my Chimchar (didn't like its evos then) and kept Flame Wheel on it nearly forever simply because I loved how it looked when Ash's (Paul's at the time) Chimchar used it.

I also kept Razor Shell on my Samurott because I like the way the anime shows it and because I tend to let Pokemon keep their signature/special moves anyway.

Oh, and Hyper Beam on any big fully evolved Pokemon like Dragonite, Flygon, Salamence, and Aurorus.
