Is there a thread anywhere people can request or share free codes for Pokemon TCG Online?

Nope. Each code works only once, on a first-come first-serve basis, so posting one publically means that only one person will be able to use it, and not only do you have no guarantee who it'll be, they have no guarantee that somebody else (including the OP) didn't redeem the code ahead of them.
