Pokémon TCG Pocket at Outernet, with new Mega Rising packs
To celebrate the Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket app reaching its first anniversary, The Pokémon Company International is hosting a pop-up event at Outernet, an events complex in central London that features screens covering its walls. The event will be held over two days, on November 8th and 9th, and will feature in-game prizes, game demos, and other digital experiences and festivities.

Events will take place throughout rooms in the complex’s Now Building, putting it on a slightly larger scale than last year’s launch event. In the Now Trending room, the giant screens will offer visitors the opportunity to open extra large booster packs from TCG Pocket’s new Mega Rising set. Visitors will also use motion controls to open other packs that have been available in-app from the game’s first year.

In the Now Pop 1 room, DJ Pikachu will be on stage, and more costumed Pikachu will make their appearances for photo opportunities as the event goes on. TCG Pocket players who visit this room can also pull from an exclusive Wonder Pick, where they can receive cards and in-game items, and also a code redeemable for between 12 and 120 Pack Hourglasses. This Wonder Pick is limited to one per TCG Pocket account.

The Now Pop 2 room will be set up as a gaming lounge, where visitors are invited to trade and battle with other players. This room also features a game demo of the newly released Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

The final digital experience is housed in the Now Arcade, and it has a cooperative digital binder for visitors to add to. Unique QR codes are hidden throughout the event, and attendees can scan them to add cards to the special collection. Visitors are encouraged to work together to progressively add to and complete the binder during the two-day event.

There will be an on-site QR code to take visitors to the event’s online hub, where they can keep track of all the festivities. Last year’s launch event at Outernet was free and open to the public, and this year’s anniversary event does not specify if tickets or registration of any kind is required.
