Pokémon TCG Pocket announces new Share feature, plus improvements to Trading, Wonder Picks, and Flair — Mega Evolution set to arrive late this month

Ahead of Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket's first anniversary on October 30th, the game's developers have posted an announcement detailing a range of updates that will be coming to the game in the near future, as well as formally announcing a new expansion featuring Mega Evolution Pokémon that is scheduled to release at the end of this month.

Three major updates are planned, all of which focus on making it simpler for players to complete their collections. These include the implementation of a brand new Share feature, an expansion in the sets and rarities allowed for Trading, and adjustments to Wonder Picks so that players will be more likely to encounter cards not already in their collections. As of writing, no specific date has been given for when these updates will actually arrive in-game, though it seems likely that at least some of these will come alongside the first anniversary

The Share feature, while arguably the simplest of these updates, may also end up being the most impactful, given that this essentially gives players communicating outside the game the ability to arrange unequal trades, by independently Sharing cards of different rarities with each other. While the once-per-day limit should reduce the amount of potential damage this could do to younger players who might get ripped off, many players will undoubtedly find this helpful in obtaining :PRD::PRD::PRD: and :PRD::PRD::PRD::PRD: cards that they may have otherwise struggled to do so before of lacking tradable cards of the same rarity. Those seeking :PRD: and :PRD::PRD: cards to complete their collections will likely also have more luck obtaining these sorts of cards through this feature.

The addition of :PRS::PRS: and Shiny Pokémon cards to the pool of tradable cards should also greatly assist players in filling out their collections over the long term, though given the rarity of these cards we expect non-whale players may not get all that much use out of this.

In addition to the three major updates mentioned in the initial announcement, the trailer posted for this announcement also mentions an upcoming change for how players will acquire Flair. After this update is introduced, players will obtain Flair automatically simply by meeting certain requirements in-game, with no consumption of Shinedust required.
