Pokemon that a main character befriended, which ones did you want to see captured?

There are a lot of eps in the show where a character be-friends a Pokemon but doesn't capture it. If it happened in an episode, which character did you want to capture the Pokemon they befriended?

Ash: Houndour and Larvitar. Remember how Ash helped that Houndour back in early Johto? I would have loved to see that on his team. Larvitar also would have made a good Pokemon for Ash, even though its understandable why he didn't capture it.

Brock: Stantler. Again, Brock befriends a young Stantler in early Johto. I remember when I watched that ep for the first time, I would have loved to see him keep it.

May: Swablu. While I liked the fact that she let it go, it would have also been interesting if she reunited with it later on.

Dawn: Grimer from the Trainers school arc. It seemed like Grimer worked really well with Dawn, too bad it was for only 1 ep.

I cried during that ep; it was SO cute.
 
Ash: I too would have liked to see houndour, but more than that, I would have really enjoyed him with Haunter. At the time both were extremely immature, so I think they would have been extremely compatible. Not to mention, it would have made his team much more powerful.

Brock: I would have liked for him to get the sharpedo from AG.

As for the rest, I could honestly care less.
 
Ash:

Houndour: as mentioned, and also...

Riolu: That Riolu got along extremely well with Ash. I understand why he didn't get it, especially since it was commited to a trainer, but still, just saying.

Brock:

Stantler: For the reasons mentioned, and also...

Nuzleaf: I didn't understand why they didn't give this to him, it made perfect sense. He took it in, took care of it, and it quickly became best friends with his Sudowoodo. It was set up for him to get it, but whatever.

I also originally thought Brock should've gotten Charmander. I mean he was deserving of it. Of course I can EASILY understand why he didn't, as of what became of Charmander and all in it's evolution. Just saying, originally, it irritated me that he was robbed of it.
 
I just want Max to get together with his Ralts and catch it and train it into an awesome Gallade. I loved that episode and out of all of Max's friendships with Pokemon, his friendship with Ralts was the sweetest.
 
Musashi should have captured that Muchul in that AG episode. They seemed to get along pretty well, and it could have been her Manene. The writers just teased us with that even more in the recent summer school arc. She's wanted that thing ever since Jouto, so just give her the damn pokemon already!
 
Definitely the Haunter. It had an awesome personality that would have made a colourful addition to Ash's roster. And like Snake Bandage said, Max eventually getting Ralts should be a no-brainer.

Oddly enough, I really didn't think much about May losing Swablu at the time, because it was done in the most heartfelt way possible, until I realized that this would mean that a main character would actually have a Dragon. I do hope at least that it comes back as a passing reference, though.
 
I wanted Ash to get Haunter and Hippopotas. (A) Ralts should have gone to Brock instead of him keeping Foretress the whole damn AG.

Didn't Dawn befriend a Pachirisu in an early episode? She would have gone well with that cute little squrill.

But Dawn caught that Pachirisu. I don't think Pachirisu showed up before the episode where she caught it.

Ash: Houndour. I loved that Johto episode and I thought that it would have been completely awesome for Ash to have his own fire puppy Pokemon. Plus, it would have been pretty cool to see someone getting a part Dark type Pokemon.

Brock: Stantler. I did like how Brock was more concerned with getting it back to its family, but I thought that they connected so well with each other. It also would have been nice to see Brock get a new Pokemon since he hadn't got one since Vulpix at the time.

May: Swablu. I also liked how May was more concerned about returning it back to its flock, but I was so touched by how much she cared about Swablu. It also would have worked really well on her team as being a cute Flying type, even though she already had Beautifly.

Max: Ralts. Definitely. I absolutely loved that episode. One of my personal favorites from Advance Battle. It would have been so awesome for Max to catch it right then and there since they both wanted to be with each other. I'm still hoping that someday he'll be able to be with Ralts as its trainer at last.

Dawn does have a Pachirisu.....

I'm insulted that you think I don't know the main cast! I have spend hours, nay, DAYS getting to know the Pokemon anime, only for people to assume that I don't know Dawn has Pachirisu. EGREGIOUS!
 
Oh yeah, and Togepi should've gone to anyone BUT Misty. However, since it ended up becoming so obnoxious, this ended up being no real disappointment to me at all.
 
I'd just like to see Swablu and Ralts stay but there is nothing I can do.

Would have been funny if Meowth kept Togepi. It might have ended up more interesting than the way that egg became more of an item than a Pokemon.
 
I wished Togepi went to Ash. I did feel sorry for him when it didn't hatch with him. Larvitar I was meh about, but the Hippopotas I wish he captured.

Just everything about that was bad. She was the least deserving of it. She in fact had like 0 percent to do with raising it. Ash found it, Brock bred it, and Meowth the same. It didn't help that with her, as you said, it became an accessory for her chest.

Togepi + current Mime Jr under Team Rocket would've been awesome.
 
The Grimer is a school Pokémon so there's no chance. Otherwise, we got to see James with Pikachu, Ivysaur and Charizard. She could get a wild one though.
I'd certainly like Ash to take care of Larvitar if Tyranitar die and evolve it to be a strong Tyranitar.
