This thread is for you to ask questions about Pokemon that evolve by trading or what item they may need by trading, or mainly just anything to do about what happens when you trade this Pokemon or that Pokemon.

Yeah but i mean't its like a forum for you to think outside of the box. To ask questions like why do pokemon evolve by trading. I mean is there some mystical power in the trade system that triggers a chain reaction in the pokemon's dna process that causes it to suddenly evolve for some reason...oh thats the question of the week, everyone post your answers here and just remember that there are no wrong answers. =]

I think that the environment of the trade causes a metamorphosis of the Pokémon; I don't think its DNA actually changes.

lol Kevin you finaly made a forum for this huh? well i think scince they have to hold an item or just without 1 its probaly a DNA change i mean cause machoke to Mechamp was a very good thing with the 4 arms and maybe Magmar to Magmortar was a big change as well... the great mystery of change

I'll go with DNA change caused by trade environment. Imagine Scyther being traded with the Metal Coat fusing with it, givimg Scizor.

Oh yeah I forgot about that. My brother makes jokes that they eat it when they're being traded and that's what causes it.

heh eating it thats funny heheh but it is hard but what about the Pokemon who dont have held items? thats a good question

I know i have asked the question before but i never gave my answer but i think that it has to do with the genetics of pokemon. I never realy thought of it that way until they introduced in DP that boy and girl pokemon could look diffrent in small details though and boys and girls are made diffrent by their...you guessed it genetics. So maybe its just built in some Pokemons genetics to evolve while trading.

well thats a good reasoning but y cant pikachu do it i mean sortoff like the arguement y cant legendaries evolve

Hmmmm that's a good one Seth but i can't think of an answer right now as of why Legendaries don't evolve I'll have to think on that one.

hmm its a very good arguement up against it even though most of us thought that mew was a preeveolution to mewtwo and onwards maybe because the cant? like they already evolved sortoff like a charzard happenes to fall into a volcano and becomes Moltres ya know? and even so that would be ridiculuas hmm i wonder how Mew, Celebi, and Jirachi came to be...

Omg!! I never even thought of the possible solution of a mutation to cause a Legendary because haven't you noticed that Fearow kind of looks like Ho-Oh what if one somehow mutated into Ho-Oh. OH new question for the hour what Pokemon do you think looks like a legendary one...state the Pokemon and then the legendary it looks like.

Actualy if I remember correctly Mewtwo came from Mew. It was in the beginning of the first movie when they explained it all. Mewtwo came from one of Mews eyelashes.

I make jokes about it too. I've always wondered where the item went. For example: with Porygon, wouldn't it just download the data and you would still have the Upgrade?

My view of trade evolution is that the evolution occurs when a pokemon gains the experience of being owned by a second trainer.

I think the reason Ho-oh looks like Fearow is that it was meant to appear so during episode 1 of the anime. During that episode, Ash and Pikachu were attacked by Spearows and then in the morning they saw a mysterious pokemon. That pokemon might have been intended as some unknown evolved form of Fearow, but then the design was later re-used and retconned into a legendary, Ho-oh as we all know it today.

Wow I never thought of it that way then again I never watch the series anymore even though I remember when I was seven I would wake up evey Saturday morning just to watch Pokemon. I loved when it would always go "Whos that Pokemon?" during the commercial and I would usualy get it right but I mean I was only seven.

Now to get back on the subject of trading...well I did a little bit of research and found out that before the first Pokemon games came out the link cable was very underused in fact there was so little use for it that they might have gotten rid of it if not for one hero for te game system and that was Pokemon. After Pokemon Red and Blue came out the income of link cables quadrupled which i think is crazy but thats just you're random info for the day. =]

Gold/Silver were already in production, Ho-Oh was never intended to be a Fearow evolution.

Notice it was glowing gold, and if I recall, flying into a Rainbow. It was already established as something special, not an unknown Fearow evolution. Its even been stated in an interview with one of the show's staff members that Ho-Oh appeared to designate that Ash was special.

The Anime would not be able to get a hold of an official Pokemon without its concept and design being complete. If anything, that Ho-Oh appearance was yet another way of advertising the games--atleast to the Japanese who have had Pokemon for awhile and know of Gold and Silver's production.

Its similarities are purely coincidental, as Ho-Oh is meant to ressemble the Fenghuang.
