This isn't necessarily a pro thread for making evolutions, but since we will inevitably get some 5th gen, which Pokemon need it most? There are certain Pokemon that stand fine on their own, but others that feel off balance. I mean, nearly a third of 4th gen Pokemon were evolutions, and it completely salvagedall the Gen II Pokemon fading into obscurity. I'm just hoping th gen can tie up all the loose ends we have left.

I'd like your opinions on the following;
Pokemon that need them-

Assuming we get several next gen, these are the candidates I think are most deserving.

Pinsir- All his RBY counterparts (Scyther, Electabuzz, Magmar, Jynx, Mr. Mime) got one, so why not? I think it would be very suitable to give him a evolution just to boost his stats a little but, The typing wouldn't need to be changed, but I think Bug/Fighting could be plausible. I'm just thinking cool Beetle Pokemon. I'd say he is about my top pic for a needed evolution.

Corsola- I was honestly anticipating this last gen, but I guess not. After the rehaul of Gen II Pokemon it's a shame it got left out. The typing screws it over for any competitive use but it's definitely deserving of a stronger evolution, Just give it big defense and power boost while keeping low speed and HP. Swift Swim would do it a lot more justice than Hustle but it already has two abilities.

Torkoal- He just seems a little off standing on his own, and I see nothing wrong with an excuse for another Fire type. Just a bulkier, more powerful version, possibly slower, no need for type change. He's not in depserate need for one, it would just
suit him better than many other Pokemon.

Qwilfish- The other Gen II Pokemon that got shafted. It's not strong enough to fare on its own, and not a Pokemon that has a particular reason to stay a singular evolution. I say crank up the Qwilfish love and give us a stronger, faster glass canon sweeper.

Mawile- He has a nice movepool, he's pretty much forgotten about, I think he is one of the more plausible candidates for an evolution. Nothing drastic, just boosted like the others.

Girafarig- A cool Pokemon, unique typing, slightly obscure, why not? To me he just sticks out as a better match for one than the others.

Maybe Pokemon-

I'm undecided, what do you guys think?

Farfetch'd- I know he's weird and just himself, but I sort of think it would be ridiculously awesome to get a Farfetch'd evolution.

Luvdisc- It functioned as a method to get heart scales in Gen III, now it is 100% useless. If they're going to make evolutions, I don't see the harm in giving Luvdisc a boost so it's not dead forever. Actually, with enough of a power boost it could become a standard on a Rain Dance team.

Stantler- I don't know, just looking for opinions.

And then, if Gamefreak sets their heart on making more, I'd say just about any other Pokemon from Gen II and even a few
from Gen I and III. Mainly those 2 Pokemon evolution lines that aren't really that powerful and are kind of destined to
be UU or NU forever. Lanturn, Seaking, Quagsire, Sunflora, Furrett, etc come to mind. Not all of them necessarily need it, but then again, Dusclops, Porygon 2, Magneton, sure in the hell
didn't, so we can bypass that. Though in all I'd rather have new Pokemon entirely.

I'm sort of thinking that Kangaskhan, Dunsparce, Tauros, Miltank, Shuckle, Skarmory, Delibird, Relicanth, Volbeat, Illumise, Lunatone, Solrock, Pachirisu, Rotom and Chatot do their own thing. Dunsparce and Shuckle are gimmicky, Relicanth, Miltank, Lunatone, Solrock, Skarmory, Rotom and Tauros are fine, Pachirisu is cute,Delibird is like Santa Claus. Not even considering Ditto, Smeargle, Unown and the like.

I think that Jynx should get one. Why did Magmar and Electabuzz get one and not the female-only Jynx? She has potential, her SP. attack stat is high but her Def. is horrible and her speed is good. Maybe somehow she could receive a Defensive Evo to be a counterpart of PhyAttk!Electivire and SpAttk!Magmortar? Or maybe she could just be the Speedy one (Since Magmortar and Electivire's Speed goes down when they evolve)

But I do agree with Pinsir and maybe Farfetch'd needing one. Poor guys got left out. Lapras too, but not sure if it needs one...

Pinsir probably does deserve one, especially how he was shafted when he was created. He gets so many Fighting Type moves, yet being part Fighting is denied to him and instead handed on to Heracross? No, no, there's something wrong about that indeed.

On the case of Skarmory, I don't think giving it a pre-evolution would work, since it might break canon, considering that a few Pokèdex entries mention baby Skarmories.

Any forgotten Water-type, Luvdisc, Qwilfish and Corsole included, and even Wailord.
Jynx needs one like Magmar and Electabuzz.
Delibird needs a good evo to ever be usable, like Murkrow got. Same for Farfetch'd.
Pinsir should seriously get a Bug/Fighting evo so it would stop looking like a forgotten Heracross.
Medicham needs to retain it's former glory, like Piloswine did with an evo.
Banette needs a Ghost/Dark evo, no weaknesses but not many resistances...it also has an extensive Dark-type movepool, not to mention it's counterpart Dusclops getting an evolution already.
Girafarig-one of the worst Psychic-types in the game? Good idea to evolve.

One that does come in mind like many have said is Pinsir.
I think Skarmory would be alright to have one.
Those are the only ones for I think need to evolve

I'd like to see a Pinsir evolution, that might be nice. Especially if they designed it to be opposite to Scizor's design...

Another Eeveelution or two would be nice.

And I'd like to see a Dunsparce evolution. Seriously, it was Johto's Magikarp, without the Gyrados.

Eevee needs MOAR Evos. I made a huge list of Eevee evos that should be made if anyone wants to take a look.

Ditto needs a evolution. Imagine a even BIGGER lump of pink love!

Seriously though. Kanghaskhan needs a baby evo. I want a baby kanghaskhan =(

^ Argh...your font color hurts my eyes..... >.<

Pinsir and Jynx have already been mentioned...

Mightyena could probably use an evolution stat-wise, but really, what else could it evolve into aesthetically? Houndoom's in roughly the same category (except I love Houndoom).

Altaria...possibly. It's a great take on the Dragon-type, but it's stats just aren't quite on par with the other dragons in the game.

Dunsparce, Girafarig, Granbull, Qwilfish, Sunflora, etc. could all use evos.

He doesn't need an evolution. At all. For quite a number of reasons:

1. His base stat total is 500. Just like all these Pokémon. The only one on the list who does evolve is Scyther. Who doesn't gain a boost in stats. It just gets reshuffled when it evolves into Scizor.

Also, Pinsir has or never had a problem with it's base stat allocations. Does this look like a Pokémon that needs to get stronger?

HP: 65
Attack: 125
Defense: 100
Sp.Attack: 55
Sp.Defense: 70
Speed: 85

Making it become another Bug/Fighting type would only make it a Heracross clone. Which would only serve to make both Pokémon less unique.

However, if you're adamant about a Pinsir evolution, getting a Bug/Ground typing wouldn't be out of the question. It's a typing that isn't used in competitive play (unless Nincada is now used), plus it now gains a STAB on Earthquake and immunity to Sandstorm, something that it's other Bug compadres don't have.

This wouldn't be a bad idea... Perhaps upon evolution, one of it's abilities becomes a new one. Kinda like what happened with Ambipom and Rhyperior.

Torkoal- He just seems a little off standing on his own, and I see nothing wrong with an excuse for another Fire type. Just a bulkier, more powerful version, possibly slower, no need for type change. He's not in depserate need for one, it would just
suit him better than many other Pokemon.

Technically, the type is kind of a problem with Torkoal. It's got the stats, but Fire is a shitty type for defensive purposes, since everyone and their mother carries a ground, rock or water attack.

I'd like to see it evolve into a part steel-type, but it might end up being a mini-Heatran of sorts.

Qwilfish- The other Gen II Pokemon that got shafted. It's not strong enough to fare on its own, and not a Pokemon that has a particular reason to stay a singular evolution. I say crank up the Qwilfish love and give us a stronger, faster glass canon sweeper.

Personally I'd like to see it as more of a physical tank, but whatever floats your boat.

Mawile- He has a nice movepool, he's pretty much forgotten about, I think he is one of the more plausible candidates for an evolution. Nothing drastic, just boosted like the others.

As long as it keeps it's typing (there really aren't many pure steel types) and it's persona of "an adorable thing that can kill you", I will approve of this.

Girafarig- A cool Pokemon, unique typing, slightly obscure, why not? To me he just sticks out as a better match for one than the others.

He was good when Shadow Ball was Physical, but now that most physical sweepers have moved on to Crunch, I'm not sure.

Farfetch'd- I know he's weird and just himself, but I sort of think it would be ridiculously awesome to get a Farfetch'd evolution.

Yes. Yes. A thousand times yes.

Also yes. Have you seen who else has the same base stat total? All of these Pokémon (aside from Luvdisc and Delibird), evolve.

Of these Pokémon, the only Pokémon that needs an evolution is Pachirisu. It's an electric type but it's base stats are wierd. (high defenses and speed, but shit attack and special attack? How the hell can that work in the competitive circut?)

sableye. He could be awesome with an evo. Also Glalie.

Torkoal could also use one, name him Torkruel. Spinda too.

And how could I forget Banette? He also really needs one.

I'd like to see one for Tropius. It'd probably be a pre-evo, though.

Also, speaking of pre-evos, Kangaskhan really needs one, especially since it already has a baby form. I always thought it was odd that it always has a baby with it.
I'd also like to see a baby form of Tauros. Isn't it kinda odd for a baby to be born with fully grown horns??

I can't belive I forgot an Ice/Dark Glalie evo...yet another Weavile?
I'm not sure if this fits in "forgotten Water-types", but I really want to see a Dewgong evo :<...

I don't really want this to happen but I've always wondered what a Starmie evo would look like.

But here are the Pokemon that I feel could use an evo:

Luvdisc.

Yep. That's it. I don't think every single Pokemon needs to be connected to an evolution. I'm hoping Gen V isn't as evolution heavy as Gen II and Gen IV were.

Frankly, I hate the fact all these already known pokemon are getting evos that apparently impossible anywhere else on earth. So I say we need to focus on newer pokemon. Preferably Fire Types.

I'm not really that much for evolutions if you have to keep trading them..I do not see a point in having to trade some 20 pokemon just to have 'em evolve. But it would be nice if they made MORE pokemon or some different dual pokemon like a evolution of Tauros thats Ground/Normal or Pinsir one thats Bug/Ground..or w/e. I'm all for evolutions just as long you don't have to trade them all. Also I think Plusle and Minun could use an evolution stage.

Yeah, I hated that, well mostly for Gen IV. Because excluding the 15 or so new evolutions, Gen IV has less than 100 original evo lines.

Well there's really no way it can be. Gen IV cleared up just about every Pokemon needing an evo. Any additiona ones will just be to fill the 100+ quota

Pinsir and Heracross don't have an evolution. They're the ones really intended to be counterparts.

Anyways:
Chatot
Corsola
Delibird
Farfetch'd
Girafarig
Kecleon
Luvdisc
Mawile
Sableye
Pachirisu
Qwilfish

Are the most needed, in terms of being underpowered/boring right now.
