What Pokemon look like objects from the real world? I'm not talking about Pidgeot looking like a hawk, or Magcargo looking like a snail, but actual real world objects.

Like this one. I'd have to say that this new plane looks an awful lot like Togekiss!

Eh, bit pointless thread.

Wobbs is a punching bag, porygon2 is a drinking bird, donphan's a tire, xatu's a totem pole, wailord's a blimp, etc.

I'm pretty sure Wailor is a whale.

How about some of the new pokemon - Domirror and its evolution (whatever its name is) based on mirrors and bells. Also Chimeco and windchimes.

Lol one of my friends described Jibacoil absolutely PERFECTLY!
"That looks like a Digital Camera crossed with a Frisbee."
Erm...METAGROSS! I've always thought it looks like an Oil Rig...0.o I know.
Cacturne = Scarecrow (DOI)
Unown = Heiroglyphs
Ditto = Some sort of gelatin-based dessert?
The Regis = Robots/Behemoths
Koffing/Wheezing = They look like Sea-Mines (but float in the air?)

Yeah yeah, xatu ain't a wooden pole either. But wailord I think was designed to look like a blimp. The proportions, the fact that it is the "Float Whale" pokemon, also there was this guy in XD who claimed he saw a flying waillord (yeah it wasn't but still sort of an interesting thing to stick in). Am I the only one who notices these things?

Oh yeah, remoraid and octillery are both based on firepower. Remoraid is designed to resemble a revolver while octillery is to look like a tank or a cannon.

I guess that explains the "tillery" part of it, it must be short for artillery.

My old Pokemon Page-A-Day calendar mentioned something about them being "blobs of pink clay". Makes sense.

Is Diglett supposed to look like the moles that pop up in Whac-A-Mole?

Yes. That is for sure. Why else would their evolved form be three of them? And they have been shown to be hit by hammers in some media. Also, dugtrio is constantly moving up and down.

And yes, that is why octillery has the "tillery" part in its name. Their entire moveset is based on shooting.

Sudopolo

Sudowoodo looks almost as a stripped down close to nothing tree that looks ready to use as a utility pole.

Actually Numel is a Camel crossed with a volcano. Though this is a lot more evident in Camerupt (Camel, Erupt.)

Oh and about Ditto being clay, that makes sense. I mean it's a lot easier to make a copy of something using clay than it is using Jelly.

Ditto's actually more like Silly Putty. Y'know, how you press it on ink and stuff and it copies the image?

As for Numel, you say Tamato, I say "HOT! HOT! HOT!"

What about the other questionable pokemon. One would be Hitmonchan mainly because he is wearing boxing gloves and a dress. Second would be Smeargle because of his tail.

Also, anyone know where Voltorb came from?

I have always thought that Latios and Latias looked a lot like space planes or some kind of rocket plane, especially with their arms folded in.

Electrode of course, is a big Beach Ball!

Celebi's head sorta looks like celery (the curly part)

I believe one pokedex entry said that Voltorb came about when a pokeball was exposed to a powerful electrical current.

And Celebi's head is not meant to resemble celery, considering in all images, it is shaped like a water drop. Celery is leafy.

It's true. It's the Sapphire Entry.
"VOLTORB is extremely sensitive - it explodes at the slightest of shocks. It is rumored that it was first created when a POKÉ BALL was exposed to a powerful pulse of energy."
