We've all been there.

It's your first time discovering a new generation of Pokémon; you pop in the cartridge, play through the game, and get to know each new Pokémon you encounter. Your first Pokémon evolves--that familiar tune plays, and your beloved creature becomes shrouded in light and mystery alike...what will it become? Your brain races to imagine the next stage in its growth. You mill through a thousand ideas, until, at last, the moment comes...

"what the...?"

For me, it was Dragonite; and I'm sure I'm not the first person to think so. Dratini, Dragonair, and then...how...?
I'd like to see Dragonair get another evolution, in a similar vein to Poliwag/Poliwhirl/Poliwrath OR Politoed. Perhaps make it so females can evolve into another form, similar to the evolution of Gallade. I like Dragonite, but...I want to see something that continues in the same fashion as the first two.

(Don't even get me started on Pokemon that are ludicrously similar but not actually related; such as Luvdisc/Alomamola...)

What Pokémon do you think should have an additional/alternate evolution?

I always thought there should be alternative evolutions for those who can't evolve by trading. A six year old me still is saddened by the fact she didn't have any friends at school, and thus couldn't trade to get the final evolution Pokémon.

I always liked the idea of Kangaskhan having a branched evolution family. So Kangaskhid would evolve into Kangaskhan if she were female and happy, and Kangascruel if he were male and angry, or whatever. (I'm sure there's compliance issues with treating Pokémon badly to level them up. It's an example!) I fear Mega Kangaskhan's added some squiffiness to that idea, but it's what I'd have done if they put me in charge of a generation. One of the few evolutions where I go, "Yes, bring it on."

I love the Dragonair into Dragoness idea. That feels like a snugger fit than Gallade or Froslass ever did. Who else? I think Jynx could do with an evolution, just to keep her pegging with Magmar and Electabuzz. I know Magmortar and Electivire split opinions a little, but of the three... whatever-they-ares, Jynx is the one who was always least fondly regarded at her Gen I stage. If any one of the three may have benefited from a redesign, it was her, so it's baffling that she's the one where they went, "Yeah, I think that's pretty much finished."

Oh! And there's that excellent picture floating about, the one with all the eeveelutions. You know the one. All those designs are utterly beautiful, put them in the game. Eevees are about halfway through the types, now, might as well go the full distance.

Include mega evolutions, and I'd give Solrock and Lunatone a go. Solrock bursts into flames and becomes Fire and Fairy, Lunatone starts to glow and becomes Psychic and Fairy. Or Rock/Fire, Rock/Fairy - I want to see a Solrock burst into flame, is what I'm saying. I'd also like to see rivalries get a bit mega, I love the idea of a Durant switching its Steel type for a Ground and demolishing Heatmor. Bug/Ground is wasted on Nincada.

When the picture Noivern was first revealed I had thought it would have been the final form of Wubat and Swoobat. Also, back when Gold/Silver previews were released there was that Azumarill / Pikachu thing. You think it's a coincidence shiny Maril/Azumarill are yellow?

mega kangaskhan didn't make a branced pre evolution any less likely.
reason:gardevoir mega evolves, but gallade doesn't

The problem with a Mega Kangaskhan is that it means taking the kid out of Kangaskhan's pouch is no longer an option - so a little baby Kangaskhan evolves... and already has another baby! That said, it's not much weirder than Kangaskhan being born with child, which is what already happens. Maybe the little baby abandons its pouch, cocoons itself in an egg, and hatches when it's ready to join your team? Uphill battle, I don't think Kangaskhan's life cycle's ever going to make sense.

Speaking of Kangaskhan, back in Generation 1 it was theorized that Cubone was the same species. Certain items cause pokemon to evolve differently. So, what if that item was the mother Kangaskhans skull? The baby Kangaskhan wore the skull, but rather than people calling it a Kangaskhan they called it Cubone because instead of growing/evolving into a Kangaskhan the skull fused with it, creating Marowak instead.

I would like Onix to have a branched evolution that instead focuses on Speed. That dramatic speed drop when it evolves into Steelix always bugged me, and I would love to see a more streamlined metal snake.

I agree wholeheartedly on the Dragonite front. Dragonair deserved an evolution that's just as graceful and beautiful as he is. Instead, we get some ugly, fat, yellow Barney dragon with a dopey face. Seriously, WHAT the hell were they thinking, designing a beautiful Pokemon and having it evolve into an ugly, completely unrelated (design-wise) dragon?

There's tons of Pokemon that should get evolutions, I think:

Farfetch'd- Becomes a samurai duck and changes its type to Fighting/Flying.
Tauros/Miltank shared baby form- a calf Pokemon that evolves into either Tauros or Miltank based on gender.
Sudowoodo- Becomes a giant sequoia and gains more defense
Dunsparce- IDK what they do with this, just give this guy some love. I could also see them changing its type to Normal/Dragon or Normal/Fairy or something.
Delibird- needs to be more than just a gimmick Pokemon
Volbeat/Illumise- Give them new evolutions with split type changes, making one Bug/Fire and one Bug/Electric.
Castform- Now when it changes forms, it also changes type. It becomes Fire type in Sunny Form, Water type in Rainy Form, and Ice type in Snowy Form. There's also a new form for Sandstorm which is Rock type.
Tropius baby
Tropius evolution
Luvdisc evolution- I imagine it to look somewhat like Alomomola. Would probably serve a status/support role.
Druddigon baby- Could be a nice to allow players access to an early game Dragon type

Also Mega Evolutions:

Mega Rapidash- Grows wings and becomes a fiery alicorn. Gains a boost in Special Attack and Speed and its ability changes to Aerialate.
Mega Meganium- Changes type to Grass/Fairy. Not sure what role it would fill.
Mega Noctowl- Changes type to Psychic/Flying and gains a significant Special Attack boost.
Mega Skarmory- Design wise, it'd probably be something similar to what they did with Scizor. Battle wise, increase its Defense and Speed.
Mega Torkoal- Its shell hardens into hot iron and changes to Fire/Steel. Its ability changes to Sturdy.
Mega Huntail- Becomes Water/Dark type when it Mega Evolves (why it wasn't this in the first place is beyond me) and gains an Attack boost
Mega Gorebyss- Becomes Water/Psychic and gains a Special Attack boost
Mega Mismagius- Becomes Ghost/Fairy and gains a Special Attack boost
Mega Togekiss- More angelic with increased Speed and Special Attack, I guess? This needs to happen more for balance reasons, so that we can have a more viable counter to Dragon.
Mega Serperior- Becomes Grass/Dragon and gains a boost in Attack and Special Attack.
Mega Samurott- Becomes Water/Fighting and gains a boost in Attack and Defense.

Scyther should get an evo more focused on the original premise. Pikachu should get a badass white or gray alternate evo that's all edgy and shit. It can ice, dark or fighting. I just want it to be mean looking.

Three Pokemons on top of my list that I think would be the perfect candidates for alternate evolutions.

First is Combee. A male combee should evolve in to a bee warrior. I know there isn't a "warrior" or "soldier" bee
among the bee caste which mainly just consists of the Queen and the Worker. But it would be very interesting to
have a warrior Combee evolution to compliment the Queen Vespiquen.

Second is Pawniard. Pawniard has the most potential of having several evolutions granted it evolves in to a Bishop already.
At first my impression was, it was kind of random for Pawniard to evolve in to a Bishop (Bisharp). I mean they could have started
with the King and Queen. So anyway, Pawniard can evolve in to a Knight that would make him Steel-Fighting. A Queen that would make
a female Pawniard Steel-Fairy. And finally a King that would make it pure Steel (or other better typing suggestion).

Lastly is Gothorita. It still freaks me out to know there's a male Gothitelle. I know there's the male Gardevoir which to be fair they made a Gallade for
a male Kirlia evolution. But Gothitelle, I mean its based on a gothic lolita in an astral body. Lolita which suggests its a female. I think it would be a really
neat addition to have a male Gothorita evolution. They did it with Kirlia, why not with Goth. It could be a Psychic-Dark type opposite of Gallade.

That's all ^,^

Mega Smeargle
Ability: All for One
The ability activated at the beginning of each turn based on the type of move chosen. The ability transforms Smeargle into one of 3 different pokemon within a specific type. The change alters its stats and typing, but it retains its ability to change again. For example, if the move chosen was ghost type the forms chosen (random or based on move useage, offence/defence) could be Gengar, Dusknoir or Mismagius. The forms have their base stats, but use Mega Smeargles IVs, EVs, Nature and Ability.

Bonus: As an added bonus, sinse Transform becomes essentially useless (maybe not, depending on the oponent) the type Mega Smeargle transforms into with this move will always be shiny. That, or Transform copies the stats/ability/moves of the target, but remains Normal and uses Mega Smeargles appearance.

Pawniard (or bisharp) should get an evolution involving King's rock and gender, making it King/Queen. it sure would make more sense than politoed, to me

I always thought Maractus should evolve from female Cacnea and I would like to see an alternative evolution for male Buneary.

Mega forms for the legendary birds...they can't just recycle them for no reason :p

I'd like to see an alternate evolution for Munchlax, so it doesn't always have to slow down and become fat.
