So, which legendary Pokemon do you think shouldn't have been legendary and why?

I'm going to go with:

-Latias
-Latios
-Deoxys
-Heatran
-Darkrai
-Cresselia
-Phione
-Manaphy

Basically, I think that GF should have stuck with their formula for legendaries. One regular legendary trio (birds, beasts, golems, pixies), one more "superpower" legendary than the previous generation (Gen I had Mewtwo, Gen II had Ho-Oh and Lugia, Gen III had Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza and Gen IV has Dialga, Palkia, Giratina and Arceus) and one "cutsey", hard to find legend (Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Shaymin). That's it. Regigigas gets a special pass for expanding the underdeveloped Regi myth but the rest don't.

Note, I like most of these Pokemon (except Heatran) and I don't wish they weren't created, I just think they should have been regular Pokemon, not legendary ones

Bolded the ones I agree with. Underlined the ones I disagree with.
Also...

- Regigigas and the Golems (Underpowered) We needed a Better Trio and Master for Gen III (IV)!

I think there's way too many legendaries right now. I think that they should just have the trio, duo, and one or two that's really rare. Generation 4 really went overboard. I mean they are supposed to be legendary, having so many kinda takes away from that in my opinion.

As for ones that shouldn't be legendary... I'd say Heatran, Cresselia, Darkrai, and the Regis or the Eons, take your pick.

I'd say Mewtwo, it's not really legendary if it was created by humans, no more so than Porygon.

id say deoxys, its not even a pokemon so it shouldnt be a legendary pokemon aswell.

I agree, it's just an alien, there may be a planet with over 60 million Deoxys, in fact, they could be common pidgey on this other planet.

darkrai, cresselia, heatran, and shaymin should not be legendary(I don't hate them, I just think they should not be legendaries)

I'd say the mere fact it's an alien already makes it legendary.

I myself am just against Heatran, Regigigas, Phione, and the lake trio. The lake trio is just too unoriginal.

I really don't care if there's a crapload of legendaries. And what's with all the heatran hate? I love that spidery type thing!

I agree only with the Heatran and Manaphy line removal. The rest I see as legends.

Well, it was made by humans, but there is still logically only one of them in the Pokemon World. Porygons have been made and modified by humans. Castforms are used for weather by humans. Mewtwo destroyed its lab/the mansion theoretically can't be made again and if so, the new pokemon would not be the same.

I think I see where you're going. Heatran is the only thing that isn't really associated to a story or myth. Pretty much the only thing that makes it a legend is that it's more powerful than other pokemon. True, Mewtwo and Deoxys don't really have a myth, either, but they're also as powerful as the legends. To me, if anything doesn't deserve to be a legend, it's Phione. It's only one by association to Manaphy. (Well, and it's at the end of the dex, but I digress) It has no special powers, no story, and even in the anime, they let Buneary of all things defeat it. It's the weakest thing still called a legend. In comparison to this, Heatran seems normal amongst the pile of legends.

Plus there were three of them. I'm pretty sure Deoxys is the only other Legendary to have multiples show up at the same time, right?

I totally agree. I also think that phione, manaphy, darkrai and cresselia shouldn't be legendary. I'm in two minds about regirock, regice and registeel i think they're more rare than legendary to be honest.

that's why the people of acient times went for so many trouble to seal them away and why they feared them (it's written in braille)? The regi's are legendaries for sure.

A Pokemon that should definetly be un-legenderied is Phione. I mean in all honesty,Buneary beat it!

Why do we feel this way about Darkrai and Cresselia? To me they are the only ones of their kind, locked eternally in a sort of tragic dual/dance, a sad and beautiful game of cat and also cat. Theirs is a connection that blurs the line between longing and loathing. They are... THE CHASE.

Of the existing Legendary Pokémon, the only ones who do not seem like Legendary Pokémon to me are Mewtwo, (Rotom,) Manaphy & Phione. All the other Legendaries are... mythical and somewhat mysterious. *nods*

...Seriously, Manaphy are just rare, but still completely regular Pokémon (except for the whole breeding thing, but that's hardly worth a Legendary status)...

Then again, what do I know; I'm just a researcher! *laughs*

Why?

Super why?

Really?

Alright, I'm just gonna stop quoting the individual pokes and basically I disagree in entirety.

Legendary Pokémon are the most fun to catch and are just really awesome. With so much of people wanting Game Freak to change the formula of the Pokémon games, you'd think they'd be excited by breaking away from this one too, especially since it made a lot more enjoyable captures.
