So, what do you think of the new anime intro that basically is an remix of the original? Personally, I think it's pretty awesome that they brought the old version back and it brought back memories.

I think it's okay. I mean, it is eons better than all of the Best Wishes openings they gave us, and the latter half of DP. But I just don't get why it's so short. I mean, they originally had the full opening in the first season. If you're going to remix it, why does it have to be shorter? That just bugs me. I wish they would go back to the openings from the old days. The openings for the first seasons of Johto and Hoenn, as well as the Battle Frontier, were all great, substantial, long and sounded really nice. Not this short shit the dub spams on the drop of a dime.

Basically it's because the channels n America are money hungry so there are longer ads which means the openings have to be shorted to fit in the time slot.

Oh okay. Well gee, I wish they would go back to the money hungering of the past when the openings could be afforded to be longer.

I agree. Still the remix they did do came out pretty good so I'm not bothered too much. And I'm guessing we'll hear the full version in the first movie so there's that to look forward to.

I don't get why CN (Cartoon Network) can't just allow TPCI (The Pokémon Company International) to make longer openings. It's not like they'll lose TONS of money by letting them add another 30 secs to TPCI's intros.

Larger time slot is what I'm getting at.

MMM-MMM-MMMM!

Taste dat nostalgia! :-D

Though I wish they'd kept those GL silhouettes

Tell me about it. Not just Pokémon, but TV shows all together :-(

It might not seem like they'd lose a lot of money in your mind but those extra 30 seconds would add up over time. And honestly, the opening isn't the big of a deal. We'll probably be getting a full version in the movie anyways.

Also, even if TPCi managed to air a 60 second opening, that would probably result in 60 seconds of cuts in the episodes.

I hated the opening. Some of the lyrics are different (i.e. the backing vocals), and the "POKEMON!" shouted (not sung, unlike the original version) at the end is...ugh.

BTW I could not see Lucario Mega Evolving in the opening. So I did a trivia on the page on Bulbapedia. If you like, you can edit it so it makes more sense, because my grammar sucks. Also, could the Lucario (if it IS in the opening) be related to a future XY episode? Or could it be related to the upcoming Pokemon film with Mega Evolutions (oh, and two legendaries. BUT WHO CARES. MEGA EVOLUTION!!!), aka M17?

I will travel across the land
Searching far and wide
Teach Pokémon to understand
The power that's inside
This is the missing part, right guys?

Yep. Not only that, I was trying to explain about that the word Pokemon is used a couple of more times in the new opening's chorus, compared to the first half of the original opening's chorus. Plus, the last lines have THREE Gotta Catch Em All's, not two.

Anyone still found Lucario yet?

Correct me if I'm wrong, my memory isn't that good, but I think after Pikachu uses Electro Ball, there's a silhouette of something that does something that sort of looks like how something evolves and an key stone or something like that appears.

I think that the opening is pretty decent. It provides a bit of nostalgia and the remix itself is pretty nice. It's just a bit too short after the first few lines. It's too bad, but I'd take a slightly rushed nostalgic fueled opening over another lackluster one full of generic lyrics about friendship and being in this together.

I was actually pleasantly surprised with how the remix turned out. While it is a bit on the short side, it isn't like we haven't had short openings in the past (Pokemon World for example). I look forward to hearing the full version in the movie when it comes out.

I like the actual song, not bad for a remix that had to be shorter, but the footage it plays over is slapped together pretty badly. I'll take this over anything they made after Galactic Battles though.
