Decided to crank out another Pokemon RP before finishing up Agents of Fate II. This one’s a Persona 3-inspired Pokemon RP; hopefully the different elements mesh well. Let's see if this one actually gets off the ground:

POKEMON:

The Tournament of the Abyss

Introduction:

Northwest of the Unova region, Knyte City is the city of dreams, a thriving metropolis of the future. Home to just under a million people, it is the envy of people the world over, with thousands of tourists coming from every region to admire it. Barely half a century old, it was designed to be the most beautiful city in the world. Though originally an independent settlement founded by Unova emigrants, after decades of relative isolation, Knyte City has thrown its gates open to the world. Day by day, the city grows larger, with all sorts of people hoping to build a bright new future in the city of dreams.

More importantly, the influx of Trainers has placed Knyte City on the map. Already, the Pokemon League looks to open up a new regional League there; three Gyms have already been established. With the Pokemon League comes a new branch of the Battle Frontier, offering a more difficult and intense challenge to the people of Knyte City. And within the past five years the prestigious Centra Academy has opened its doors in the heart of the city, offering a top notch education for Trainers of all kinds, isolated from the hustle and bustle of a larger region.

Yet, though Knyte City aspires to achieving utopia, becoming a shining example for the world, a hint of something darker lurks beneath. Though the tourists have no hope of seeing it, and even watchful Trainers hear only the barest scraps of rumors, Knyte City hosts the most secretive challenge of all, beyond even the Battle Frontier: the Noctis League. Open only to residents of the city, and then only by invitation, the Noctis League is an underground league, disposing of the formalities adopted by the Pokemon League, unleashing the raw, visceral experience of true combat. More than a Trainer’s skill and strategy is at stake; for the competitors, a battle in the Noctis League places everything on the line.

Of course, even in the darkest depths of the Noctis League goodwill and the spirit of honest sportsmanship remain. Even here, most Trainers battle out of a true desire to test their limits, not out of cruelty. But by its secretive, clandestine nature, the Noctis League naturally attracts the worst sort of Trainer. A new wave of competitors seeks to push the limits of the Noctis League, more than simply having the Trainers participate as well. They seek the use of weapons, of blood combat, of even horrific mutations to their Pokemon—to push battling in a way the world above has never seen.

The Noctis League has banned such radical measures, citing safety concerns; the seeming hypocrisy has split the community in two, between those who simply wish to battle alongside their Pokemon and those who wish to push that battling to unseen heights. And into the midst of this confusion and chaos, this conflict of adrenaline and bloodlust, a mysterious benefactor has stepped forth, and announced a Tournament of the Abyss, a tournament the likes of which the Noctis League—or Knyte City, or the rest of the world for that matter—has never seen.

Knyte City embodies the future, the shining city and the nightmarish pit of battle. What will you decide? How will you shape the future? And what will you find lurking in the depths of the abyss?

Knyte City:

A street map of Knyte City

The heart of Knyte City is a simple grid of eight avenues by eight streets. Though the grid extends outwards into various neighborhoods and boroughs, most of the non-residential areas of the city are located within the grid. Though the grid does not perfectly align with a compass, the avenues run roughly north-south and the streets east-west.

Disrupting the perfect regularity of the grid are Knyte City’s three Plazas, the original settlements incorporated to create Knyte City. Centra Plaza is the largest, located near the heart of the grid; it houses key structures such as the City Government and Centra Academy’s campus.

Verdan Plaza, directly to the north of Centra Plaza, is of middling size; however, it is almost entirely wild, left relatively untouched by the sprawl of the city.

To the east of both Centra and Verdan is Battalia Plaza. Though smaller than Verdan, it attracts much more attention, neighboring the Battle Frontier and housing both one of Knyte City’s Gyms and the Noctis League.

North Boulevard links Centra and Verdan Plazas. Grand Boulevard joins Verdan and Battalia Plazas. Serene Boulevard connects Battalia and Centra Plazas.

The various districts highlighted on the map are:

  • City Government – the complex of offices and civic buildings that manages Knyte City; City Hall, the Courthouse, and the Library are all found within the City Government’s district
  • Financial District – the budding business sector of Knyte City
  • Theater District – the primary entertainment district of Knyte City
  • Midtown – the heart of the city, along with Centra Plaza, linking the various districts together. Knyte Terminal, the city’s major train terminal which connects Knyte City to Unova’s Gear Station in Nimbasa City, is found within Midtown, on Fourth Avenue and Sixth Street. It is the center of tourism within the city.
  • The Heights – the wealthiest sector of the city, home to millionaires, private schools, and various museums and other dignified institutions.
  • Downtown – the major recreational center of the city, along with Midtown. Many smaller businesses and shopping centers are found here.
  • Parks – reclaimed areas of the three Plazas, open to the public. Major relaxation hotspots.
  • PKMN League Facilities – the Pokemon League headquarters within Knyte City, it serves as a de facto embassy for the rest of the world. Though Knyte City is not recognized as part of an independent region, its distinct independence from Unova has allowed the League to recognize a City Champion, though one without an Elite Four. The League’s Facilities also contains several free battle arenas, making it a place of particular interest to Trainers.
  • Centra Academy Campus – the location of the prestigious Centra Academy, a world-class battling school. Though initially open only to city residents, the informal establishment of a Knyte City League has convinced the Academy to open its doors to the world.
  • Gym Facilities – the three Gyms of Knyte City, each associated with one of the Plazas.
    • Centra Gym
    • Verdan Gym
    • Battalia Gym
  • Battle Frontier – Knyte City’s local Battle Frontier. Though still under construction, it hopes to open within a few months.
  • Noctis League Entrance – a series of nondescript warehouses along the edge of Battalia Plaza houses the secretive Noctis League. The warehouses actually contain luxurious rooms and nightclubs, with the arenas of the Noctis League hidden further underground.

Gameplay:

Gameplay is encouraged to be as freeform and expansive as possible. Your character can lead any sort of lifestyle you want: from a student at Centra, to an aspiring Trainer wandering through the city, to a fresh-faced Gym Leader, eager to take on the world, to a vagrant making a living betting at the Noctis League… the possibilities go on and on.

The only thing tying you all together? Your battling skills, and an invitation to the next tournament at the Noctis League. Noctis League Tournaments are held every so often, as well as the qualifiers for the Tournament of the Abyss. Beyond that, you’re free to develop your character however you wish.

Battles in the Noctis League are inspired by battles in the Pokemon Special manga; thus, unlike the games, Trainers are active participants in battles, and can be legitimate targets for attack. For safety reasons, all participants in the Noctis League are issued a suit of light body armor, though its use is only optional. The only armor whose use the League mandates are full face masks, both to prevent outright lethal damage and to conceal the identities of its participants, limiting retaliation outside the League.

Rules:
  • Follow all BMGf rules. This includes the obvious ones: be respectful, no spamming, etc.
  • Be descriptive. Short posts make for a boring RP. Aim for at least three sentences, maybe even a paragraph.
  • Keep OOC to a minimum. Any major discussion should be here, in the sign-up thread. Any OOC in the start-up should be game-oriented.
  • No god-modding. Defeating everything effortlessly and solving every problem instantly makes for a very boring RP.
  • Don’t control other players’ characters. This is simply proper procedure in any RP.
  • Listen to the GM. I’m here to keep gameplay going and ensure things don’t go out of control.
  • Read the rules and background information. They’re here for a reason. Reading the entire first post makes gameplay much smoother.

Appearance: Detail is always good. Describe your character’s mask, and if your character wears anything special for Noctis League battles, put it here.
Personality: As always, detail.
History: See above. Explain how your character came to Knyte City, or how he or she grew up there.

Occupation: What you plan to be doing while not at the Noctis League—student, businessman, chef, Trainer, Gym Leader, whatever. NOTE: All 3 Gym spots are open, as well as an unlimited number of Frontier Brain positions.
Goals: Related to the above, what your character intends out of life.

Pokemon: You can have as many as 12 Pokemon, but as usual, only six on a team. Try to be realistic; if your character’s lived in the city all his life, it’s unlikely that he’ll have 12 fully-trained, fully-evolved Pokemon. On the other hand, that’s perfectly feasible for a Gym Leader.

Other: Anything else that doesn’t quite fit above?

RP Sample: A short example of your RPing ability.

@Renewal: I decided to finally come back to Bulbagarden after a while and I find this awesomeness? A great return, indeed.
-----------------------------------
Name: Winter Villiers
Age: 19
Gender: Female

Appearance: Winter is a young, fit woman of 19 years-old. Despite her somewhat young age, her body is well-matured and toned from the training she does with her Pokemon. She has oceanic blue eyes, short blonde her reaching the base of her neck, and a stature of 5'7". When participating in the Noctis League; she can be found wearing a black jacket with a fur-lined hood, with a black tanktop underneath; complete with blue ripped jeans and black boots. During casual times, she usually wears a tanktop or shirt with bike shorts as her trademark.

Personality: Winter is shown to be a calm but serious battler, though she is not without a sense of humor; albeit very dry, sarcastic, and sometimes downright cruel. She is shown to have a short temper toward those who don't follow rules. Because of her battles in the Noctis League, she has shown an extensive killing intent when in battle seriously. Despite all of these traits, she does show childish traits; as she tends to believe that everyone is innocent deep within. Her naivety leads to her usually being taken advantage of. She is also very distrusting to those she first meets due to her childhood.

History: Born to two parents, Winter was not taken care of properly. Her father was a criminal, performing misdeeds of all varieties. Her mother, a high-ranking diplomat; left Winter with her father around the age of 9. Winter had never known what possessed her mother to do it, but only knew that it had to do with her boss. She wouldn't find out the meaning of the word "infidelity" until she was older in life. Over the course of 2 years, Winter had been subjected to harsh training with the Pokemon her father had stolen for her. When she did not perform to the day's standard she would be subjected to many types of punishment; including whip lashings, beatings, and emotional abuse. This soon escalated to forced self-mutilation and even molestation on some occasions. Along with her Pokemon, Winter was forced to become battle-hardened. After leaving her house in the night, she burned it down along with her father inside. Never since had she went back. After moving to Knyte City, she went and became a Wandering Trainer for the following 8 years; battling with her Pokemon endlessly. After witnessing the horrors of the Noctis League's darkest parts, she decided to become a Noctis League Scouter; reporting to the highest bidders and officials on who to bet on and how to win in battle against them.

Occupation: Noctis League Scouter

Goals: To find her mother is her primary goal. Scouting the Noctis League is her favorite hobby.

Pokemon: Lucario | Volcarona | Nidoking | Metang | Shelgon | Aggron | Braviary | Milotic | Absol | Excadrill | Zebstrika

Other: She is currently looking for her 12th and final Pokemon, which she wants to be a Legendary Pokemon.

RP Sample:
Turning her head to the young Trainer, defeated and broken on his knees; tears trailing his glaring face, her look remained impassive. "What? Are you still trying to get up?" her voice was a distilling calm. It only served to infuriate her fallen opponent more. Just the reaction she was looking for.

"Give me back my Zebstrika! It's mine, damn it!" the Trainer yelled. His high-pitched voice was hardly capable of spurring some sort of break in her resolve. It was a pathetic attempt.

Winter sighed. She could pretend to be sorry for him, but that would make her sick to her stomach. "Sorry, but I don't take orders from weaklings. Your Pokemon is mine, now. Just live with the fact that you'll never amount to anything, loser," no one had ever said honesty was a bad thing. Winter's brutal honesty was just like all others in her mind. Taking out the Pokeball, she spinned it on her index finger; examining it. "Wasn't this what you did? But you dropped it, right?"

The Trainer's voice hitched. "B-be careful!!" he yelled at her.

Oh, now he was concerned? Winter rolled her eyes at the sheer hypocrisy. Just minutes ago, he was doing the same thing; so why was it bad now? A double-standard or just sheer stupidity?

Ugh, thinking about it any longer would've burned the brain cells that were still in commission after the trainwreck of a battle she'd participated in. So, she opted to walk away. She could here the boy yelling out to her, screaming a muffled mix of curses and pleas.

However, only one thought was on her mind. 'I wonder what type of moves I can teach my new Zebstrika~'

Cliff is a tall teen with three scars straight over his eye that lead down to his right cheek. He also has the word "FREEDOM" tattooed on his left shoulder and "TO WIN OR DIE" Tattooed on his right shoulder, as well as a red belt buckle worn diagonally. Hanging on one of the belts is a holster for his Pokeballs. Cliff never reveals the meaning of his tattoos, and how did he get the scars on his face. In battle, Cliff wears a wing-like mantle, and a steel mask with a single gold coin over his left eye (in the Greek tradition of placing coins over the eyes of the dead, indicating that he is "half-dead")

Personality: Cliff is a complex person who was molded by his past as a member of a criminal syndicate called 'Team Galactic'. He's calm, collected, and a cold. He tend to avoid battle when its not necessary, but does not hesitate to fight when needed. Despite this, he is a kind person under his cold exterior, especially to children(he also has a soft spot for blonde girls, because its the hair color of his adoptive sister's hair.) since he was an orphan.
he appears as a lonely and detached individual, living alone and refusing help from anybody. he is also a deep thinker contemplating about his life in many instances. he seems always serene and apathetic towards other people, even when he is actually deeply conflicted. He is also extremely calm, even in battle, and is very seldom surprised by even the most drastic of actions. However, when he was younger, he was quick to anger and very hotheaded. Cliff likes Japanese cherry blossoms, night-time walks, spicy food, and apple, but he does not like sweets.
Beneath his brooding demeanor, Cliff is shown have a comedic side, as he once jokingly remarks that he uses Air Cutter to cut his hair.

History: Cliff came to Knyte City to start a new life. He was raised in an orphanage.
When he was 14 years old, a woman and a man adopted his sister, this, leaving him behind in the orphanage.
Frustrated, Cliff ran to the place where he could relax: the beach, in the middle of the night.
A man named Johnny, found him, and take him in as his son. It turns out that Johnny is an admin of a criminal syndicate called 'Team Galactic'
He trained his adoptive son, in the arts of fighting, stealing, etc, making Cliff joins the Galactic as a member.
Tired and feeling guilty, a few years later, Cliff ran away, into a city called Knyte, hoping to start a new life.

Occupation: Librarian. He opens a small bookstore that sells books, card games, etc.

Goal: to join the international police, so he could put an end to team Galactic, hoping everyone would forgive his past sins and mistakes. But first, he must be strong, and challenging defeating the noctic league is a must to him.

Pokemon: Crobat (named Dismas), Luxray (named Chazz), Houndoom (named Rave), and Floatzel (Freed)

Other: he's particularly good at pick pocketing.

RP Sample:
As an after though, Cliff took one of his dagger and fastened it to his belt, then, crept over to the next room, where Breanne, his adoptive was sleeping. Cliff was just 12 years old, his hair is spiky and he is wearing a blue shirt with shoulder, elbow, and knee guards. He also wears a brown shorts.
Swallowing his fear, young Cliff sneaked through Breanne's window and crept up to her bed. There she was, sleeping peacefully, with a smile on her beautiful face.
"Breanne." Cliff whispered "wake up."
The 11 years old girl awoke in silence and unafraid, her eyes glinting in the moonlight. Cliff squatted back as she sat up, putting a finger to his lips. Breanne spoke in a whisper "Cliff... Is something wrong?"
The boy grinned "you up for an adventure?"
She tilted her head. "What sort of an adventure?"
"Trust me."

Breanne looked at him for a moment, then nodded. "All right."
She, like usual, had gone to sleep mostly dressed, and simply needed to pull on her boots and cloak. She rose, made a halfhearted attempt to comb her fingers through her long blonde hair, and nodded.

Breanne followed him as they crept to a dress shop. The walk was more challenging at night, but the moonlight was quite bright and their feet did not slip.
"There's our destination." Cliff said, pointing.
Breanne gulped "we're going to a fancy dress shop in the middle of the night?"
"Have you ever wear one?"
"No, and I don't want to."
Cliff frowned, disappointed. They were poor, they grew up in the orphanage together, and she's like a sister to him. And since both of them are poor, Breanne could never wear an expensive dress. They couldn't afford to buy one. "Come on, Breanne. Its our one chance to get a good look at a dress. Aren't you curious? You said you want one."
Her face was hard to read in the moonlight, her eyes dark pools of shadow. "I-- I know, I want one. But this isn't right."
Breanne was silent, and at last, Cliff sighed "all right, I'll take you back."
"No." She said, surprising him "let's go."

Once they have managed to get inside, Cliff picked one of the dress that is on the display. It made Breanne looked like a goddess. She was so pretty.
"Breanne, you're so pretty." Cliff grinned, letting loose a happy laughter and threw his arms around her neck
"Ahaha. Okay, its enough then. Let's put this back and go back."
"W-what...?" The boy raised an eyebrow, pulling away "but I thought you like it..."
"I do like it. But... This is not ours. Come on, we can't take what isn't ours."

...

"Gah!" Cliff eyes jerked open. His legs twitched, and sweats running down his forehead. He had another dream about his sister. "... Breanne.."

@Renewal: Aaaand, here's my second sign-up. This one is a Gym Leader.
------------------------------------------
Name: Yun Deloria
Age: 22
Gender: Male

Appearance: Yun is a tough, young man with fairly bronze skin, wavy dark brown hair; the back of his hair tied into a braid and piercing green eyes. He is of fairly tall height, being around 6'01". He is somewhat muscular, having trained fervently with his Pokemon all of his life. When in the Noctis League, he wears a royal blue traditional indian sari; adorned with tribal accessories as well. Underneath the Sari is a black tanktop and black pants. He wears black boots, each sporting tribal markings on them. Across his arms are tattoos in Arabian for "DEATH" and "BATTLE".

Personality: Yun is a very straightforward person, being blunt and truthful to the point of cruelty and rudeness. He is never afraid to speak his mind, being brutally honest and effective when he does. He is a very complicated individual to understand, as one would need to be able to fathom his ever-changing agenda. Being an avid reader, he spends his times reading in Cliff's Library. When not, he is usually found within the Battlia Gym; training his team of Pokemon. Yun, despite all of this, also shows a very kind and compassionate side to those who are weak; wanting to mentor those in need. Some find his advice to be downright abusive, but usually understand when it helps them in the long run.

History: Yun was born in the mountains of the Hoenn Region, born to a large family of 10; with 8 siblings, a single parent, and an uncle. His father had disappeared under mysterious, leading his mother and uncle to fend Yun and his 8 siblings. During his life, Yun and his siblings all competed fervently for the approval of their mother. In these competitions they all scaled the mountains to collect food, distured nests of dangerous Pokemon to capture and bring them to her, and even jumped into volcanoes to collect minerals. Within time, Yun's sibling's extreme measures to gain attention resulted in their demises. With only Yun left, his mother had begun to take care of him. Yun's mother and uncle had remarried to become better parents for him, also giving Yun a Torchic as a present. One night, after farming; Yun came back to his settlement only to notice his mother's voice was echoing in the quiet. When he went to investigate, he found her being raped by his uncle. Enraged, Yun and his Combusken at the time both captured and tortured the man. Yun's mother never recovered from the trauma of the event, eventually jumping from the mountainside to her death. Yun forced his uncle, who had been held captive, to jump from the same cliff; before burning down their settlement. Taking four of the baby Pokemon with him, he released the others and left to travel on his own. Coming to Knyte City, he spent over 10 years training; essentially becoming one of the more powerful Trainers. With his name known, he decided to take on the Battalia Gym. Completely decimating the Gym Leader's team, he was given the title by the man. Yun has since trained with his Pokemon.

Occupation: Battalia Gym Leader.
Goals: To find someone suitable to run the gym. To become the Champion of Knyte City.

Pokemon: Blaziken | Conkeldurr | Metagross | Tyranitar | Aerodactyl | Bouffalant | Escavalier | Beartic | Garchomp | Eelektross | Dusknoir | Haxorus

@Oerba Yun Jay: Looks good, though you'll need to edit the history a bit. The Noctis League is completely separate from the Pokemon League; it has no authority over the Gyms. Otherwise, approved.

Gah, I wish I had less on my plate. Do you mind if I follow the RP without participating?

Changed.

@Piximon: I don't mind at all; if you ever have the time, you're free to sign-up.

Could you reserve me a spot? I'd love to join another one of your RPs, since the last one didn't work out. :)

This seems very interesting... Could you reserve me a spot so I can do a quality sign up?

Name: Rue Sable

Age: 28

Gender: Female

Appearance: Rue is an imposing woman, standing at nearly six feet tall, with sharp, striking features. She has sleek, dark hair that reaches midway down her back and intense dark green eyes. A thin white scar stretches across her left palm, a reminder of the very first time her life was endangered by a Pokemon. While battling at the Noctis League, she wears the standard light body armor, painted white with a black spade motif (like a playing card). Her mask is completely smooth and white, revealing nothing of her face; the material over the eyes is thinner, allowing her to see clearly without letting her opponents see her. When she is not at the league, she dresses stylishly but professionally, preferring slacks, blouses and heels in neutral colors.

Personality: Rue has a forceful, ruthless personality, but is rarely needlessly cruel unless she really doesn't like you. She has a fairly short temper and often acts violently when she flies off the handle. Rue has trouble relating to other people and usually ends up alienating them, whether that was her original intention or not. Gradually, she has begun distancing herself from everyone, even the people she cares about.

History: Rue was the second child of a rather wealthy (and quite indifferent) family, her father having made a fortune with his mining company, digging up rare materials and selling and reviving Pokemon fossils at steep prices. Her father fully intended to pass the company onto Rue's older brother, Gray, and to marry off Rue whenever a profitable enough man came along. Rue, however, had different plans from a young age.
Rue and Gray were often each other's only companions during their childhood and became quite close. Rue worried that her sickly, mild-mannered brother would be an easy target as the head of a large corporation and eventually revealed her desire to one day be head of their father's compnay to Gray. Gray was easily overtaken by his sister's domineering personality, and he readily agreed to give his share to her. The two confronted their father, informing him that it would be Rue, not Gray, who took over the mining corporation, and that Rue did not intend to marry. Their father was predictably furious at his children's disobedience, but he quickly came up with a scheme that he thought would guarantee that he got what he wanted.
He challenged Rue to a Pokemon battle, promising that if she could defeat him, she could take over the company. Rue accepted and sent her Togetic out against his Kabutops. Togetic was taken down almost instantly, and Kabutops conintued on to attack Rue herself, inflicting a deep cut across the hand she threw up to sheild herself. Just in time, Rue called out a Pokemon that she had revived from a fossil without her father's knowledge: Lileep. Somehow, possibly sensing her trainer's desperation, Lileep managed to defeat Kabutops, leaving Rue the victor.
Rue eventually did take over operation of the mining company and moved to Knyte City on a whim; a few years after settling there, she received her first invitation to the Noctis League. Her ruthless battling style and the playing card motif of her armor has earned her the nickname “The Queen of Spades” in the underground battling circuit.

Occupation: Businesswoman/CEO

Goals: To prove to the business world that a young woman can be just as effective as the head of a major company as any man. And she would be lying if she said that kicking around some uppity trainers wasn't way more fun than business dinners. Also, to reconnect with Gray, as the once inseperable siblings have grown distant in recent years.

Pokemon: Kabutops (formerly her father's, the very same one that scarred her hand); Cradily (the Lileep that won her the company); Togekiss (the Togetic that she battled Kabutops with); Lampent; Galvantula; Aggron; Froslass; Servine (a gift from Gray when she moved to Knyte City)

Other: None

RP Sample:
“That's the last of them.” Rue turned away from the window of the office – her office now – to watch Gray set down a bulky carboard box.

“You shouldn't be doing any heavy lifting,” She admonished him. “Cradily and Aggron could have handled those.” Gray just grinned at her. “Oh, I thought I'd you all a break from hard work for a bit. You've earned it.” Rue just huffed a bit and rolled her eyes; Gray demurred to her on most matters, but he was suprisingly stubborn when it came to her work or rather, her addiction to her work. “By the way,” he said, “Just how did you convince Father to let you move the company's headquarters all the way out to Knyte City? I thought he wasn't budging.”

Rue shrugged one shoulder nonchalantly. “It's a bit funny, really. Some nasty rumors about more... unscrupulous deals he might have made have been floating around recently. And you know, he's just always so nice to me when things like this happen. He wouldn't want me to think poorly of him, of course.” She smiled bitterly, absently tracing the scar on her palm.

Gray sighed heavily. “Rue... you didn't.” She pressed her lips together in a thin line. “I did what needed to be done. I know you're above blackmail, brother – but I'm not.”

“I know,” Gray said quietly. “I know you're willing to do anything to further the company.”

“The company!” Rue snapped. “It's not about the damn company, Gray, you know that!” She gritted her teeth, trying to reign in her temper. “You know damn well why I do what I do. Everything – everything I've done, I've done for your sake, brother. Don't you dare act like you don't know that.”

“I know it, Rue.” It was clearly hard for him to say. “Sometimes, though, I wish you wouldn't.” Rue said nothing. She turned her back to him, facing the window again. The bright, sunny city no longer seemed quite as inviting.

Slowly, Gray stepped forward and laid a hand on her shoulder. “I love you.” His voice was nearly a whisper. “I love you more than anything, little sister. That's why I'm asking you not to destroy yourself for me.” Rue still said nothing. Couldn't say anything. What was there if she didn't have Gray's support? Eventually, Gray saw that she wasn't going to answer him and slowly pulled away. “I've got a hotel room for the night, then I'm leaving for Hoenn in the morning.” He said. “I'm going to look into that town you told me about, the one where... ill people go to have a better environment.”

“And who do you think's paying for that trip?” Rue muttered, glancing at him over her shoulder. Gray looked pained. “I'll come by tomorrow morning before I leave.” He said, not meeting her gaze. “To see how you're settling in. Good afternoon, sister.” With that, he exited, leaving her to brood.

And now, she thought, caught between rage and despair, what do I do now?

@Oerba Yun Jay, @Yusei Fudo, @Nytie, @Kellenator: All right, since I've managed to get my life in order, I've got time for BMGf and RPs again. If you're willing, I can try launching this RP again? You all up for it?

@Renewal: Dude, I would glomp you right now if I wasn't so unsure about your reaction to it! You're back! :D

And I'm totally up for this. Been waiting for a while :/

I'm up for this.
If you need any help, shoot me a PM. I could always help ya, mate.

All right. I'll wait a few days, and see if anyone else signs up. In the mean time, you're free to add additional characters if you want; a bigger cast might help things out. I'll post the start-up some time next week.

I've never done two characters at once before, but I'll put another sign-up up later today and see how it goes.

Name: Lucio de Rege (At least, that's what he currently goes by. His actual name is Vilmos Klossner, but he makes his utmost effort into not telling anyone that.)
Age: 24
Gender: Male, but has been known to be able to impersonate a female persona if necessary

Appearance: Vilmos has a somewhat pale skin complexion, due to his usual aversion to traveling in broad daylight, and eyes of a pale green. His hair is usually dark brown, but he dyes it a dirty blonde color under his guise of Lucio. As for clothing, he tries to be as nondescript as he can, with a dark red jacket over a dark grey T-shirt, light grey jeans, and black tennishoes. He also has a tendency to wear sunglasses. However, when participating in the Noctis League, he changes his outfit dramatically. A hooded trench coat, leather gloves, large boots, a shirt, jeans, and a blank mask, all of a pitch-black color, the outfit specifically designed to completely hide any trace of him behind it.

Personality: Vilmos always tries as remain as hidden as he can, and to this extent, he's very distant and not incredibly prone to socialization. If spoken to, his responses are, with very few exceptions, short and vague. He's extremely slow to trust, and always remembers those who do him wrong. He also has an almost stubborn disbelief in the values of teamwork, always working alone and refusing to let anyone or anything else assist him in doing so, the only exception being his team of Pokemon. He's a man of strong will and a sense of independence, so he can't be manipulated very easily.

However, having been so detached from society, he also disregards most values people have. The most prominent example being morals. He shows no attempt to distinguish between right and wrong, and only works to further his own benefits. Not for the purpose of selfishness, so much as self-preservation. If given the situation, he will gladly kill or do some form of harm to another person to make sure that he stays alive. His lack of empathy is almost frightening at times, and can easily portray him as a man with a heart of ice.

History: Vilmos Klossner is more of a ghost than a man. He has wandered the lands, adopting countless different identities and developing a great adeptness at disguising himself and making himself look like someone completely different. He crafts false identification certificates, changes his appearance drastically, and conjures false backstories, all in attempts to conceal his true nature, and one story is never the same as the last. Throughout the countless places he has traveled, no one person knows him as more than one person

His persona of Lucio hails from the town of Jubilife, and simply managed to catch wind of Knyte City and all of its facilities, deciding to travel there. Aside from that, he never reveals anything more.

The truth, however, is far, far more dark in nature.

Raised in the colossal Castelia City, and never having much in the way of wealth, Vilmos lived a very shallow and barely sustainable life. However, at a young age, his life took a turning point. During his wanderings, he came across a man that told him that there was an easy way to be rid of the horrid lifestyle he was plagued with. With his young mind being susceptible to manipulation, he gladly accepted, not knowing what he was really getting himself into.

They man was a member of a local criminal gang that wreaked havoc across Castelia, and they began training Vilmos in the "art", unbeknownst to his parents or much of anyone else. He simply told them that it was a school that he had been admitted into. No one was the wiser, even as he was melded into a criminal over the numerous years. But the local law enforcement finally caught wind of where the group's base of operations was located, and raided the place.

However, after clearing the area of the majority of people there, they eventually came across a startling sight: A small boy, no older than twelve, pointing a pistol at the group of officers with violently trembling hands. However, the gesture was made in order to make himself look threatening. He didn't really have any intention of shooting the officers. They started questioning him, to which Vilmos responded mainly with defiance, but also with immense fear. They began understanding that this boy had no clue what he was really doing, and were about to escort him out of the premises when...

BANGBANGBANGBANG.

Just like that, gunfire exploded from nearby, the shots striking the squad as they fell to the ground. For the first time, Vilmos experienced death. And there could not have been a worse way to witness it. The shots were revealed to come from the rest of his group, all of whom looked towards their protegee with varied looks of disgust and anger. Not having many other options, now that he had showed weakness in front of his previous partners, he did the only thing he could.

He ran. First to the outskirts of Castelia, then farther from there. Over countless years, he continued running. Making new names for himself, learning through practice numerous methods of concealment. To this day, he's still fleeing. Fleeing, not only to conceal his previous criminal activities, but in order to build a new life for himself, to start over so that he would not have to suffer due to what he had left behind.

Occupation: Trainer

Goals: To eventually locate the gang who had trained him, and slamming karma into them with the force of a truck.

Pokemon: Premonition the Absol, Crusade the Bisharp, Desolation the Claydol, Omnipotence the Metagross, Forsaken the Glalie, Merciless the Aerodactyl, Claret the Scizor, Insidious the Cofagrigus, Twilight the Volcarona, and Vigilant the Luxray. He's been to a lot of different places, and as such, he's encountered numerous different kinds of Pokemon. He always keeps Premonition with him, though.

Other: Theme Song: Meet the Monster by Five Finger Death Punch. It's basically a very, very angry message to the criminals he had previously associated himself with, stating that, to put it bluntly, "I am going to freaking kill you." It doubles as his opinions as to the government, and how he's going to stop the lies about himself that they've been spreading. The line in particular, "It's hard not to be a menace to society" is brought to mind.

RP Samples (AKA My Resume)

Pokemon Universe: Hoenn
"I've lost track of how many miles we've hiked at this point, and yet you still expect to aimlessly meander around until something interesting happens?" the Pokemon, a Lunatone, complained. "You would be a terrible tour guide, Dusza."

"Chandra. Things will become more interesting in due time," the trainer, Dusza, replied. "I can feel it."

"Ah, yes, the fantastic thing you people call intuition," the Lunatone, Chandra, remarked. "You think it's one of the greatest gifts you were given, until it causes catastrophe not soon afterward."

"That's enough."

"No, it isn't. Believe me, I've got plenty more to talk about."

"I said that's enough."

But the Lunatone continued without acknowledging Dusza in the slightest. "Such as that trip to Mt. Pyre. Enlighten me, what purpose would going to a cemetery embedded into a mountain have? Wait, never mind, don't answer that question. You would inevitably end up going into one of your philosophical speeches, and I do not want to hear any of that right now."

Dusza simply sighed and tried to put his Pokemon's rambling out of his mind, as the pair continued to head for Petalburg.

Trebloome Academy: Part III
A lone figure was standing at the deck, near the front of the ship, leaning against the railings, jacket fluttering in the breeze, and arms crossed. He had an expression of solemn contemplation. At his side was a moon-shaped, rocky Pokemon, with a beak-like protrusion, and two beady red eyes, which had a look of bleak disinterest as he looked through the various individuals assembled there. And flitting around was a creature made entirely out of plasma, with arms similar to lightning bolts. Itazura, Dusza's must trusted ally and friend.

"I get the strangest feeling that I'm not going to enjoy this. At all." Dusza heard the voice inside of his head. Knowing that it came from his Lunatone, he replied. "Chandra, don't be so quick to judge." His voice was almost a whisper.

"I'm not judging so much as using prior knowledge," Chandra replied. "The day that there comes a single human that I have some degree of tolerance for is the day Mt. Chimney freezes over. That was a horrible trip, by the way."

Ignoring his companion's berating, he turned to face Itazura, who was sneaking up behind Chandra, before administering a Thundershock mid-rant, at a low enough intensity to not harm him, but high enough so that he would actually notice. Letting out a startled shout, the Lunatone turned to face his attacker, who was cackling madly at this point.

"The nerve..." Chandra mumbled to himself, before turning away and continuing his sifting.

As this happened, Dusza pondered to himself. He somewhat agreed with Chandra's first statement, but not for the same reason. He got the feeling that something bad was going to occur. This place seemed to be a brewing ground for trouble. He cared for the people here, and if something were indeed to happen, he promised that he would protect them with his life. But if he were to keep that up, he would get himself killed. Would this place ever know peace? Would he himself ever know peace?

And yet, Dusza's mannerisms and countenance appeared even more quiet and somber than usual. There were things that he still was hesitant to speak about, even here, but the thoughts, the memories, were gnawing away at his subconscious, trying to drive him mad. Some people say that the ghosts of their past eventually come back to haunt them. But with Dusza, his ghosts constantly haunt him, every day and every night.

Unwell [Catching Fireflies Finale]
A small collection of three destroyed and abandoned houses, a little ways away from the border of Alveus. Some may call them little more than a twig in the vast sea that was the continent of Alveus.

But to a singular figure who was sitting on a rather large boulder situated near the center of the houses, it was his hideaway, and base of operations. That figure was Benito Sudario, much better known as Zaar. He was examining his malformed, dark purple skin with interest.

"Such a peculiar condition," he sad to himself. "Not even I know of the cause, nor the exact specifications of the disease. No, not a disease. They might call it a disease. But it a sword and shield, a weapon, a tool to be used by the wielder. Unable to be controlled by those of weak willpower, and places powers of mass calamity in the palm of one's hands..." He grinned as various ideas began swarming his thoughts. "Killing things is all these powers do, so that is exactly what I shall use them for."

"Although, I haven't been in a truly fierce battle battle in quite some time. That shall be rectified with utmost haste."

Rogues Gallery: Battle For Seattle
Jett gave a slight smile. "Y'know, I've started to notice something about you," he said to Sakak. "You do what you do because you love doing it, even though it gets you into trouble sometimes. I'm always up for a joke or two. But sometimes, a bit of anger towards someone can make you just a little bit unreasonable."

"Now, I know that you're upset with the gods or whoever locked you up. Honestly, I would be, too," he continued. "But we are not the people you should be mad with, or trying to kill. Flooding one of the biggest cities in the country just because of a rivalry that we have no part of...not a good thing to do."

"I'm gonna be honest. Even though we have been fighting throughout the day, and even though I have this..." he said, pulling out the totem. "I'm willing to reach an agreement. You haven't really done anything that warrants you getting locked back up. I can let you off the hook...but on one condition. You can play your little jokes. Just make sure you don't let out your anger on us."

Sakak actually reminded Jett of some of the criminals he had apprehended in the past. They simply had grudges or bad experiences, and they felt the need to vent their anger, even on innocents. He had sympathy for them. On some days, he himself felt like he wanted to punch the person in front of him, even when there was a better target for his rage.

The streets were silent as Alice made her way home.

The professor had taught her a lot today. In all honesty, she admired him, and hoped to become as good as him one day...

Just without looking like an emo.

Her Altaria flew next to her, singing soft melodies that caused Alice to hum along with it. It reminded her of home.

Images came back to her as she remembered her family back home in Mistralton. Her sister Jenna, playing with her Togepi near Twist Mountain, the smell of mom's pancakes. She smiled, allowing a tear to roll down her eye as she sang along with her Pokemon. Alice became so entranced that she tripped, falling onto the street and scraping her knee and barely managing to stop the rest of herself from falling with her hand.

Her Altaria flew up to her, checking to make sure she was alright. Alice gave her a half-hearted assurance, returning her to her pokeball before wobbling up to avoid any further questions. She sighed, looking down at the street and picking up the text book that had been in her hand.

"Thanks for the memories, Angel." she whispered, wiping away the tears as she continued her way home.
