Pokemon timeline?

Hey all,

I was just wondering if anyone knew what the timeline of events is since the show's creation. I stopped watching the anime after the Orange Islands season and only really bounced in and out of the show since. I was just wondering if they ever disclose how much time has passed.

Not really. The TV series has, for the most part, has been purposely ambiguous when it comes to how much time is passing after Kanto.

A great example of this is in the episode where Hikari gets her Poketch; in that episode, Takeshi tells the guy that he's had his Gureggru "a short while." If that was a Kanto episode, they would have been more specific.

There are a few instances (the cake in the "Pichu & Pikachu"), but those are few and far between.

The characters don't really age, but time passes. Ash doesn't do two leagues in one year.

I basically see each major region as 1 year, with the short stuff like Orange and Battle Frontier being a few months.
