I am maddened in the fact that in the recent pokemon video game tornament, legendary pokemon are allowed to be used.
Looking at the videos of the battles at these tornaments, most of the contenders used at least 2 legendaries in each battle, and the moves shown were used primarily for the raw power.
In a tornament, you should have to use skill and strategy in order to defeat your opponent, not just sheer power and little strategy.
I say that legendaries are banned from the next tornament because they are only used for the fact that they have much higher overall total power levels than most other pokemon in the world, as to make it more challenging for the competitors in the battles, and the training of the specific pokemon beforehand.

I can't even explain how bad this is. Do you have Wi-fi? Because I could beat you using nothing but legendaries using a team with no legendaries.

First of all.. not all legendaries are as strong as even some NU Pokemon. Second of all; those tournaments play under a different rule system than what is commonly used in online Wifi play like you'd find here. Thirdly; brute force and sheer power IS a strategy and can be quite overwhelming. Even NU Pokemon can hit VERY hard when in the correct setup/team. Don't believe me? I'd be happy to demonstrate. ;)

yes, you could beat me if i had all legendaries and you didn't, with the help of major EV training of course.
i know that some legendaries are banned already which is why i'm angered because last year they were all banned (along with dragonite (unless you got an event lv 50 dragonite))
Brute force has little strategy to it- rain dance and thunder. the strategy i mean is something like status moves such as confuse ray, toxic, double team, etc, which requires alot more strategy as to make great pokemon in your belt even better: ninjask uses double-team and swords dance with speed boost, baton passes to umbreon or another pokemon with high defenses, and THEN use brute force. or use skill swap on slaking and use its power
i did research, and all legendaries, allowed in the tornament or not, have a base stat of at least 580, and all others (with the exeptions of the pseudos and slaking) have a 555 or less which is why i think ALL legendary pokemon should be banned, and a limit on pseudo-legendary pokemon as to make the tornament that much more fair to all of those who enter

Looks like you could use some.

Stopped reading.

You really need to look up the rules of standard battling before you can comment on it. There are tiers for each Pokemon, be they Legendary or normal. Articuno is an NU, the lowest tier. Make sense of that with your arguments.

if you look at the battle videos, they are all using the "upper tier" legendaries such as kyogre, palkia, and dialga.

You didn't post any videos, I'm not gonna go searching. Are you talking about the VGC tournaments, where the rules allow for that?

Consider that Pokemon like Azelf and Zapdos are just as good as Lucario and Blissey. The fact that they are mythical in Pokemon lore doesn't correlate with their battle prowess. Base stat total doesn't mean much when you consider movepool and tpying, and many legendary aren't as effective at 'brute forcing' as you think they are. Zapdos and Celebi work pretty well as physical walls, while Heatran can work both offensively and as utility.

Oh boy here we go...

Okay let me get this straight, you're complaining about people using legendaries and really powerful moves. What the hell should people use? 1st stage Pokemon with really weak moves?! I mean yes people use legendaries because some have really great stats and make those raw power moves work well...I think that's the whole point.

In a tornament, you should have to use skill and strategy in order to defeat your opponent,
And people do that. Are you not familiar with what strategy is or are you not watching the videos? To me it looks like a little bit of both at the moment. Oh and Pokemon battles also incorporate A LOT of luck in the as well, hence RNG(RANDOM number generator), and most tournaments are won because of it.

not just sheer power and little strategy.
Please provide examples of this.

Are you aware of the fact that A LOT of legendary Pokemon can be used for things other than sweeping?? I see no issue with using legendary Pokemon if things like a Gyarados, which if it gets up more than 2 Dragon Dances, could sweep A WHOLE TEAM.

as to make it more challenging for the competitors in the battles,
Explain how it would be more challenging?! If legendary Pokemon are as powerful as you claim they are, wouldn't it be more of a challenge for people to figure out strategies on how to use them and take the other one's down?

and the training of the specific pokemon beforehand.
People do train legendary Pokemon dude...do some research. kthx

Just consider these tournements as playing in Ubers, and everything underneath. Basically, everything is allowed. Some things that are as low tier as NU actually can be made useful in Ubers. Let's remember, Quagsire is one of the best Kyogre checks (I think these tournements this user is talking about are all Double Battles though o.o).
