Pokémon UNITE updated to Version 1.15.1.7 on August 22nd. These updates, dubbed "Shadow Flame [Part 2]" (Japanese: 「シャドウフレイム Part2」), bring balance adjustments for a variety of Pokémon alongside bug fixes and Shop and Event updates. A special sale commemorating WCS 2024 is also underway, where the Pokémon that performed well in the tournament are available at an discounted price. Additionally, a new gift code has also been released, enabling players to obtain rental licenses for Greninja, Inteleon, and Glaceon.

Use Gift Code 「BALANCE0822」 to obtain Rental License
Use the gift code 「BALANCE0822」 to obtain 3-day rental licenses for Greninja, Inteleon, and Glaceon. The gift code is valid until Sunday, September 22, at 2:59pm (UTC).

To redeem the gift code in Pokémon UNITE, go to the events screen, select Daily Events, and select Gift Exchange from the list on the left. Enter the gift code on the Gift Exchange screen and an in-game mail containing the rewards will be received within 48 hours of successfully entering the gift code.

Notice Regarding Strengthening Response to Nuisance Behavior in Voice Chat
Pokémon UNITE has also decided to strengthen the disciplinary actions for abusive language, threats, inappropriate remarks, and other nuisance behavior in voice chats to ensure that players can enjoy the game with peace of mind. The specific type of disciplinary action and its application will be determined individually according to the content of the nuisance. Factors such as the severity of the behavior, and whether or not there is a presence of habitual nuisance behavior, will be considered. First-time offenders may only receive a warning, but more serious offenses may result in voice chat restrictions, account suspensions, or in some cases, permanent account suspensions.

Version 1.15.1.7 Update Patch
This update brings Shop and Event updates, alongside changes to some Pokémon stats and moves to adjust the balance in competitive tournament scenes. Specifically, this update buffs (▲) Greninja, Inteleon, and Glaceon.

Battle Updates

To keep the excitement of the intense battles from the Pokémon World Championships alive, we have implemented a minor balance adjustment focused on improving Pokémon and moves with lower win rates while preserving the strengths of key Pokémon in the current meta.

Greninja

Attackers that primarily rely on basic attacks are designed to have modest power in the early game, with their true strength shining in the mid-to-late game. For Greninja, this characteristic was not fully realized, so its late-game attack has been increased to make its growth more apparent as it levels up. Additionally, the damage of the boosted attack after using Smokescreen has been buffed to improve its KO potential once it evolves into Frogadier. As for the Unite Move Waterburst Shuriken, the cooldown has been significantly reduced to make it easier to use for both attacking and retreating. However, the damage output has been nerfed in consideration of balance. These changes aim to improve Greninja’s usability, as it relies on not being KO’d despite its low durability.

  • Stats
    • Attack: 146-460 → 146-500 (Lv.1-15)
  • Smokescreen
    • Boosted attack damage: 12% increase
  • Unite Move: Waterburst Shuriken
    • Energy needed: 25% decrease
    • Damage: 20% decrease

Glaceon

While Glaceon’s win rate and usage have been declining, the damage it deals per match is still at a satisfactory level. Therefore, the focus has been on enhancing its self-defense and crowd-control abilities.

  • Ice Shard
    • Movement speed increase duration: 0.5s → 1s
  • Freeze Dry
    • Movement speed reduction: 20% → 30%
  • Unite Move: Glacial Stage
    • Movement speed reduction duration: 1s → 2s

Inteleon

The damage output of Liquidation was low, leading to a decline in both win rate and usage. As a result, adjustments have been made to increase its damage.

  • Liquidation
    • Damage: 12% increase
