Pokémon USA and Pokémon UK are merging together under the name "The Pokémon Company International". The president is now Kenji Okubo, the previous president of Pokémon USA.

Wonder if this will mean more promotion of Pokemon in UK then? It seems that the USA gets more pokemon press than UK does IMO. Defiantly an interesting move

And where does this leave Canada? I mean Pokemon USA didn't really take good care of us in terms of events.

However, this probably means simultaneous releases for all the future Pokemon games for North America and the UK.

Hmmm... this probably is an attempt to save money but I like the idea and the name, it seems more together and cool.

You speak of it as if it's a mere game of chess... But maybe that's the best way to describe their actions and perhaps foretell their future plans...

In my opinion, unifying all "Pokémon Companies" is one of the best options.

Perhaps this precedes a possible final merger between all Pokémon-related stuff so that the games get released all around the world at the same time? You know that's gotta be Tajiri's wish by this point... especially with the GTS and all being active since day 1 of DP in Japan.

The games have shown a definite lessening of the difference in time between US and Japanese releases, with two and a half years for R/B, a little less than one for GS, about four months for RS, and seven months for DP (though I'd imagine the release date was picked so they could catch up the anime, too).

Increased press would be nice, but what is really needed is better organisation of events. I believe the upcoming event in Brighton is the first of its kind in the south east of England. ( I believe the US has similar problems)

A much larger perspective should hopefully help things.

I'm glad that the UK is now taking part in pokemon better. The anime is airing quicker here now- Barry's Busting Out Alll Over aired this morning in the UK. Hopefully there will be more promotions- PCI ROCKS!

Lately its been going JAP > USA > AUS > EUR

Why do our UK people think they will get same-time releases? Last time I checked the game still had to be translated into several different languages for the EU version.
