(Game 1 starts around 9:30, Game 2 at 21:30)

Here's the final match of Worlds 2014, Masters Division. Pachirisu was just the little engine that could, putting a spectacular performance til the end. I've been interested in trying out VGC and watching those battles was the push I needed to actually start on it.

Did you watch any battles from this year's tournament? Did it interest you in playing more VGC?

I believe that this is the first year in a while that a Zheng hasn't been in the top 4 of either Masters or Seniors.

Jeudy choked when it was ScarfTar + 'Mence vs Gardevoir + 'Chomp. Garde was faster and going to get off an attack and die to Sand anyway, so he should've Ice Punched as none of the possible switchins (Talon, 'Dos, Goth, Pachi) resisted it and if he stayed in and attacked (as he did) he would've gone down, leaving his 'Tar at a good HP range and him at a 3-2 lead. He then could've sacced Mowtom to bring 'Tar back in and Rock Slide the rest of the match. The way he did it, the only kill he got was 'Garde (without preventing her attack + she still would've died to Sand if he didn't target her) and 'Chomp's EQ left 'Tar in range of Brave Bird, so his locking into Rock Slide presumably predicting one of the two in back to be Talon was meaningless.

Markus added Azumarill and Garchomp to give his opponents a different look than what they’re used to seeing.
1. That's a Machamp
2. Garchomp doesn't add a new look considering even the Masters champ had one on his team :/

I watched the vid, and even though I have no idea what set the players were using, I can still see that Pachurisu was pretty deadly. XD Would they distribute the Pachirusu later? I heard certain player's pokemons get distributed if they performed well.

The match was disappointing. I only play the game and not through any simulators. It is really nice using Pokemon I worked with personally.

I would be surprised if the Pachirisu wasn't distributed during the next Nationals since it was such a different Pokemon.

I think from the start Park really was the better player. That Chomp protect was nice too.

Pachirisu's second best stat is SpD, so it wasn't that surprising that it ate up those hits. It was still nice to see a player not bringing the mons you always see.

Loved the finals matches. I believe in Game 2 the Bullet Punch on Gardevoir was a roll? I truly appreciate Sejun in using Pachirisu, and have it be extremely useful throughout the match. 252 HP/156 Def/100 Sp. Def w/Impish was the set IIRC.

One of my favorite battles was Ryosuke's, where his Specs Hydreigon took out 3 Pokémon with Draco under Tailwind support. There was also a match with a guy who brought Rotom-F, which was hilarious and impressive at the same time. What are people's thoughts on Arash(former world champion) using swagger?

I personally loved it (watched it today) andthought it was a lot of fun to see such a variety in the winner's team. As the announcers mentioned also, it was nice that he didn't used any mega evos! I think it was a fun battle

It's annoying how basically every team I see on Battle Spot Doubles now is imitating Park's team.

They aren't using any simulators though? Some may use them to train, but they raise the Pokémon themselves and use their actual games to compete. The Pokémon Company International uses special devices that allow matches to be presented on the big screen and live-streamed via Twitch.tv.
