We always see in our world's mainstream media about what the world may look like in the future...flying cars, jetpacks, etc.

What would the Pokemon World be like in a few dozen, hundred or thousand years? Their technology seems a little further than ours in some ways, but in other ways not.

What do ya think? How would Pokemon be affected?

Flying cars and jet packs...

...who actually sees them in the future--not so much that they can't be done, but that it is just not practical.

In a few hundred thousand years, either the human race goes extinct and everything returns to its natural state, or space is colonized.

if you read the OP, he didn't say he thought flying cars and jetpacks were the future on Earth, he was talking about the MEDIA'S PORTRAYAL of the future.

On topic tho, I think Pokeballs will continue to advance or even become obsolete if they invent some other way to capture Pokemon...like capture styler advanced.

technology in the show is already pretty advanced compared to ours.

Pokeballs for one...somehow they are able to convert the pokemon to energy or something and capture it.

The Pokemon Centers and their ability to always just heal a Pokemon in their balls by sitting on that machine.

Bill's PC is advanced too.

Yeah, nothing recent has been portraying the future with jet packs -_-

I think either pokemon will get sick of being used for battling by humans and revolt. Possibly led by Mewtwo. This will lead to a utopia where pokemon run free and aren't captured and the few reamaining humans will compete in gladiator tournaments.

teleporting the Pokeballs seem preety advanced, hmmmm.... bringing fossils back to life, underwater breathing apartuses, and cloning Pokemon all seem preety advanced! so, i think it qualifies that they are way more advanced than us! but then again people who can just hand out Pokedexes and what not should be preety advanced!

Pokemon technology is messed up. They have these Poke Balls that are capable to compacting their molecular structure and shrink, hold animals with a beam of light. Yet, they have the same technology, at least if not lower than our world, in other fields of science. So who knows? They could have ftl speed robotic Pokemon by 2200, with all natural Pokemon extinct and wiped out due their lack of usefulness, but only cold-fusion powered cars.

Within the next thousand years? I don't think there will be too many world-shattering discoveries. I think there will just be minor improvements over what's already there.
