So do you guys figure the pokédex will be similar to the one in the eshop? Cause that would suck for people like me who speant nearly $20 on that thing.

Back on topic, what do you predict the pokédex will be like? More advanced? Simple? More organized? More anime-ish?

Hopefully they'll just have like a 5 dollar or free update for the pokedex pro thing, and as far as the dex in the game goes as long as it makes sense i am fine with it.

Also: keep my feature to make it into a "Shine dex"!

I want to be able to use the pokedex mid battle to 'scan' opponent pokemon and find out more about them without having to use a wiki.

o_O Ofcourse! The pokedex! That I didn't think of this before...

3D probably, with them moving maybe.

I personally hope the X/Y regional and national Pokedex is like Pokedex 3D, just with Gen 6 Pokemon and you don't have to spend $20 on it.

Whatever the XY regional Pokedex does i hope it features starter pokemon from other regions.

I'm wondering what the Pokédex will look like. Here's what's happened so far.
Kanto (1): Not based off anything sicne the series was just starting out.
Johto (1): Game Boy Color
Hoenn: Game Boy Advance
Kanto (2): Game Boy Advance SP
Sinnoh: Nintendo DS Lite
Johto (2): Nintendo DSi
Unova: iPod

If I were to guess, I would say it'll be based off the 3DS.

I like this idea. Makes it easy to learn the new pokemon without having to google it.

3 things I hope the new Pokédex has:

The ability to see all the forms (shiny, alternate, whatever) like BW/B2W2 had or better.
A Dex feature that lets you see what Pokémon are in what area like in B2W2.
A 3D model viewer, with a rotating view controlled by the touch screen so you can see the Pokémon from different angles (front, back, side).

I'd also like to see a return of height and weight being compared to the trainer. It made things so much easier to visualize in my head.

Keep the metrics for the PAL region.
Or at least give us the ability to switch back and forth between the systems. Why they haven't done this earlier I have no idea, but something needs to happen.

Aside from that, I like the sound of a 3D viewer where you can freely rotate a Pokemon around.

A 3D viewer with a 3D model of the trainer beside the pokemon for comparison all around would be excellent. Possibly a camera feature to take pictures (2D or 3D) of the pokemon you've caught via AR? It'd be cool to have a picture of yourself chilling in your living room with your team of awesome bad-assness.

I'd be happy with something a lot like the Gen 5 dex, but with 3D models.

I think it'd be single screen device that will project a hologram while the base will provide information.

The ONE thing I don't want with X and Y's Pokédex is for it to surpass Pokédex 3D Pro in terms of usefulness and features. It would be an almost absolute gyp for those who bought it (like me, for instance) and B2W2 already had a weakness checker in the form of Cheren on the Xtransceiver. At least we could use stuff like the AR features (and I did that a lot when the application was first released).

So, basically, I'm hoping that the Pokédex is simply that of Unova's with Pokémon in a 3D model instead of sprites. Retaining search features, Shiny entries and even the Habitat List from B2W2!

I think it'd be single screen device that will project a hologram while the base will provide information.

I imagined a hologram being projected into the real world from the 3DS itself while reading this, haha. That would've been something!

A dual screened device again, but more like the old ones. Give us the bottom screen as a scrolling method however, with the top screen going left to right for the scrolling. Super convenient method to it however. Do something like HGSS, but with the map,cry and form button only chaning the bottom screen and not the top. Meaning, the top screen will always display Pokemon, while the bottom display's the info for whatever mode you have it on. Location setting? Just scroll to the mon you want! Also would be convenient to swap the form you want to display for the default dex entry.

I actually had a cool idea for a new pokedex, not sure if it's worth sharing, though; but I really hope they add a favorite pokemon list. You can customize the list so you can view all your favorites anytime you want. A customizable pokedex, how cool would that be? It asks you to select a pokemon you've seen to add to the list, tap once to select, tap another time to deselect and then press save to save the list of selected pokemon and that'll be your favorites list. You can edit it anytime you want. So there will be a slider thing to switch between the lists national, regional and custom. Unless someone has a problem with this and sees it as pokemon discrimination or something?
