Pokémon X and Y to be available with Nintendo 3DS family, games registration in North America: ...

From March 1 until March 31, players may register one of the Nintendo 3DS family systems, and one of the six eligible games to be able to obtain a code to download Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. This promotion will be available for those in North America. The systems that may be registered, are the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL, and the Nintendo 2DS.

So I have an important question! The Pokemon X and Y game would be saved onto the SD Card, correct?

And if so, does that mean I could register my brothers 3DS...but insert and download the games on my SD card? Then take it back, and proceed to have a copy of X?

You get a code, so I assume you can use that code with any NNID. However, I don't think you can just download the game onto your SD card then play it on a different 3DS.

Just register your brother's 3DS and redeem the code on your eShop

Apparently, I can't register my eShop Mario Kart since I bought it before I made the Club Nintendo account
