Pokemon X bug

So I literally just bought Pokémon X along with the 3DS earlier today and have encountered a really annoying problem right off the bat. I've looked around to see if it is a known bug but no luck. Here's the problem. Almost every time I go into a battle, the Pokémon in the second slot of my party will suddenly turn into an EGG right away and I cannot use it. If it does not turn into an EGG and I select the Pokémon in that slot, it will turn into an EGG in battle. However, I am still able to use the attacks my Pokémon has and finish the battle but once that happens, the EXP of the EGG will keep rising right thru the EXP bar and continue on till it reaches the edge of the bottom right corner of the screen. When that happens I have to go back to the home page and reset the game. Has this happened to anyone? Any ways on fixing this problem? I'm just going to restart the game since I wasn't far at all and hope that it does not happen again.
 
Wait, before you delete it... do you have pictures? Since it would be easier to understand (and dare I say believe) if you have pictures.
 
Where did you buy this console and game from?
(It could be a fake so do check everything, it she serial code legit and such?)
Even big businesses can get fake things in without knowing.

If it happens again do return the game to the store as that's a really obscure bug. Bugs usually occur in hot weather (my laptop, 3DS and such hates hot weather, but it only becomes slow) or if the game has been hacked.
 
That's a strange bug. I'd do as the others suggested and check to see if it's legit, as that seems very strange.

I bought both the 3DS and game at a local Gamestop here in San Francisco, so hot weather is definitely not a factor. But I did restart the game and the same thing happened again, so I'm going to the store as soon as it opens to exchange it for another copy. I did manage to take 2 pictures of the bug though, but I'm having trouble uploading them. Any suggestions?
