I wonder, why do people abhor the idea of human x Pokémon? Haven't you seen some people and their dogs? They're practically a couple o.o...

Anyways, I understand that ye only like your own specie (so do I), but in a shipping fanfic? C'mon! Wouldn't ye at least want to see how the author would write/describe it? I mean, shippings are not real after all...

Now, if Pokemon existed, I'd definitely be a little scared if Chikorita did to me what it does to Ash (rubs against him) o.o...Well, it'd be okay, I'd just tell it not to go too far =P.

All I'm saying is why hate/dislike it? I don't think I'd do it, but if that's somebody else's thing...*bursts into laughter* :-D So yeah, I'm neutral to this. If somebody told me "Me and my Raichu got in going on", I'd say "Uh...interesting". I'm very open minded =P.

Plus Giovanni and Persian make Pokemon x Human relationships look normal =O.

EDIT: I get the feeling this should be moved o.o...

Someone can make as many Pokemon x human fanfics as they want, as long as it doesn't creep into bestiality, which is kinda sick.

I've seen a few "let's turn Meowth human and hook him up with James" doujin, and they weirded me out. -_-;;

It depends on the Pokémon. I have no problems with a romance fic where Ash and Latias go on a date. When most people think of potential ships with humans and Pokémon, they probably first think of the humanoid types (Jynx, Machoke, etc). Even when considering other types (think of Ash and Bayleef), bestiality doesn't have to come into play.

I agree with both of you, fruitsmoothierevenge and Barb. As long as the fic is romantic, it's alright. Yeah, bestiality is just creepy. Well, even with human x human fics, I still prefer romantic ones over sex-involving ones =P.

In fact, my two favorite ships are Pokemon and human!

My favorite ship is Pikashipping (Ash and Pikachu)!

And my second favorite is Altoshipping (Ash and Latias)!

Oh, and I have no idea why I like these kind of pairings so much. I guess I just really like the relationship that a human and a Pokemon can have. It's different from all the usual human and human shippings. And it's really cool!!

I like Pokemon x human shippings. I like Altoshipping, which could actually be considered canon, and I also like Chikashipping. :O

I usually don't mind bestiality fics, although I'm not a big reader of them.

Nope actually it's listed under ChaosRocket. I think everyone already knows what kind of fics I write, especially after the infamous Kumoricon incident.

Amber was running this fanfic room, and they had this thing where people would read their fics out loud to the group, NC-17 ones after midnight. So Mandy said I should print out my tentacle hentai Pokemon fic and read it, so I got some other guy to read it because I couldn't be there because I needed to spend almost the entire con in the game room. So I wasn't there when he read it but Amber told me that he got so embarassed he couldn't say a lot of the words and the fanfic judge was so disturbed that she actually had to leave the room.

I mean I don't write those fics for the purpose of shock value, I write them because I like them and my intended audience is other people who like them, but I still think it's really funny when they freak people out like that ^_^;;

If Pikachu can be paired with Ketchup, there's no reason it shouldn't be paired with humans. I love PokemonxHuman ships. They're better than humanxhuman ones. Here's some I like:

Rule of thumb

Basically, it depends on the Pokémon. Some are so close to human in form and intelligence (indeed some exceeding average human intelligence) that Human/Pokémon ships using that species are closer to a human/alien ship in a space opera fandom. A good example of a species that is commonly viewed in this way is Mewtwo. I, myself, have written a Mewtwo/Joy ship into one of my stories.

However, some of the ideas are just ridiculous, if only for reasons of scale (Ash/Pikachu and Misty/Charizard are good examples). Others really go far off onto the 'ick' side of things (Misty/Muk ). Some sound like something out of a bizarre NC-17 fantasy (Jessie/Seviper or Delia/Entei, although Jessie/Arbok has a strange edge to it that I find hard to define).

Generally, the more recognisably humanoid and human-like in intelligence the Pokémon the more likely that the ship will be acceptable to the mainstream.

Well, obviously, I think the reason why I'm such a huge Pikashipper is because I'm one of the few people out there who actually believes that Ash's Pikachu is a female and has a really big crush on him (kinda like Chikorita/Bayleef, if you know what I mean).

Although, if Pikachu were a male, then the ship just wouldn't work (in my opinion, at least). I mean, Pikachu would still love Ash, of course, just not as much.
