Pokemon's first decade of existence is now done.

We think alike, I made a thread just the same lol.
We went thru GSC, RSEFRLG, and we are now in DPPtHGSS.

We went through many different colors/elements lol... and got a new pokemon to hate~

I'm surprised how much it developed over the years. I never thought that the franchise would still be around this long, but, of course, I'm glad it is.

Hopefully it will be around to see another decade :)

We have HGSS to look forward to next year.

Actually, Japanese Gold and Silver, if I remember correctly, have (c)1995-1999 in their title screen, so we went actually from 251 to 493.

But yeah, the franchise has had a lot of success on this decade, and isn't showing any signs of death (and that is a good thing, of course). I haven't been following the anime or TCG for many years, but I have the idea that at least TCG has evolved somewhat. The games have also undergone a great change, mainly because of the evolving platforms (from GBC to DSi).

We've also seen the first death of a part of the franchise (or, at least it seems like that to me): TFG was both created and scrapped during this decade.

That was their fault, though. The TFG was never really advertised, and they never tried to build up interest in the product line. It was like the execs didn't want it to succeed or something.
