PokéPark Kanto
The Pokémon Company has announced a major addition to the Pokémon brand; PokéPark Kanto will be the first permanent outdoor attraction for the company. PokéPark Kanto will be opened as a section in the Yomimuriland amusement park, in the Tama Hills suburb of Tokyo. The grand opening will be February 6th, but tickets are scheduled to go on sale on November 21st at 1:00 am PST.

PokéPark Kanto Map
PokéPark Kanto is planned to have three main sections; the Entrance Plaza, Pokémon Forest, and Sedge Town. The park occupies 26,000 square feet and boasts interactive experiences, shops, stage shows, and two carnival rides.

Entrance Plaza
PokéPark Kanto’s Entrance Plaza is, of course, the entrance to the other two sections. It features a Pokémon Research Lab as the show building.

Pokémon Forest
The first attraction that will greet visitors is the Pokémon Forest, a 1,600 foot long walking path through a woodland filled with Pokémon. The path boasts “various terrains including hilly paths, tall grass, tunnels, [and] rocky trails…” As could be expected from the name of the park, the path features mostly Pokémon that originated in Kanto, and the trailer especially shows off various members of the Nidoran lineage and Rhyhorn. The attraction is estimated to take about an hour.

Sedge Town
Certainly the section with the widest variety of features, Sedge Town mimics a town from a Pokémon game. It features a Pokémon Center with a healing machine, a Poké Mart with specialty drinks available for purchase, a shop called the Trainers’ Market, and a battle court in front of a Gym. The Electric-type Gym will function as a stage for various shows featuring Pokémon mascots - the first scheduled show is called Pika Pika Sparks!

Sedge Town also contains the two carnival rides; Pika Pika Paradise and Vee Vee Voyage, both of which appear as carousel-style rides on the illustrated map. The town includes a variety of photo-ops, like the Primarina fountain and a towering Alcremie cake statue. The “houses” in the town will contain mascot meet-and-greets.
