So the game came out a few days ago and yet there are no threads about it? Really?

From what I've seen, the game looks like it'll be a fun diversion. I really like the idea of having an action-y Pokemon game, and the fact that this is the first game since Pokemon Snap on the Nintendo 64 to feature the actual voices from the TV series instead of the Game Boy "cries" gets it major points in my book.

What do you guys think?

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

I have not played it, but it looks nice. When to expect it to come to the U.S.?

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

Just checked out a trailer..not my type of game although some parts looked pretty interesting.

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

Didn't Pokémon Channel have also voice clips from the anime?

The spin-offs of Pokémon don't appeal to me unless they somehow can connect to the main versions (gameplay-wise or story-wise), like both Pokémon Ranger titles, so I'm not interested in this game. Besides, I dislike the anime so I don't care for the vocals, and in any case I would prefer high-quality cry sounds than actual voices, such as what HAL and Nintendo did for the Stadium games.

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

I can't say much since I haven't got it but I've seen alot of trailers and it's looking like fun. I like the fact you can fight in this game aswell as play mini games.

I'm not sure what it'll be like but one of my favourite games on the DS was Chocobo tales which relied on mini games to progress so if it's similar to that I'd love it alot. However if the mini games are more fun than the stadium games I'd love that aswell.

Mainly interested in the battle aspect and if I read correctly you can befriend Pokemon to use. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I noticed a list of obtainables on serebii's site. Apparently 193 Pokemon.

I'm hoping for an english release so fingers crossed. If not I will be looking into trying to obtain a japanese wii somehow in the future if it doesn't get outside the country. I had been wanting a game like this ever since I was a kid.^-^

I have been reading comments by people on a certain game forum I'm on and so far it's sounding pretty good.

I'm getting bored of the main series to tell the truth so I'm looking into these side games to keep my interest up since I'm finding I'm starting to enjoy them more.

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

The graphics look pretty good.

I wonder if this game was outsourced to an American company.

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

It has the anime voices? Wow, I didn't know that. It's about time. I should watch some more trailers of it.

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

I've only seem a few trailers of it, but I have to say it really looks good so far. The graphics are really good, and it seems to have a big list of playable pokemon. I heard some of the cries but I was unaware they were ising the anime cries for all of the pokemon in the game. I know its a bit early, but we have heard nothing about this game even being released in the US, although I think nintendo would be crazy not to. There is little to no chance it won't make it to us (I hope).

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

I read about it on Serebii.net. But it just isn't my type of game to be playing.

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

I used to think that this game would be a Wii-ware game with Pokémon Ranch like graphics and would be something like a Hey You Pikachu game. But it actually looks pretty fun.

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

I'm definitely going to buy it. The graphics look better then usual, and the minigames look fun. ^^

That's hardly a coincidence. There was no discussion leading to the game's release, either.

Are my eyes deceiving me or do the 3D models in this game look sharper than in PBR? I'm interested to know if a graphical improvement is in order for Genius Sonority's next title.

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

I just researhed it, and it looks like a little cheap $19.99 game to me.

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

I'm usually not one for easy mini-game fests, but I'm actually rather interested in this. The tempting novelty of actually playing as a pokemon is a cruel lure indeed. Who doesn't want to play as Mukubird? Bitter shut-ins, that's who.
The quality of dub pokemon voices has always been a huge pet peeve of mine however, so it's a bit of a double edged sword. 'STARAVIAH!' will make it bitter-sweet, that's for sure.

Re: "PokePark - Pikachu's Big Adventure"

You could always import the Japanese version, with a Freeloader or something to make it work on your Wii.

Wait, didn't they make an update that rendered Freeloaders unusable? i thought they did...

As for the game, I'll probably buy it. I'll need to research it a bit more before deciding however.

I thought both were NTSC and therefore compatible... US and JP, that is.

4,800 yen is not 20 bucks, as far as I can remember.

I could, but then I...wouldn't be able to understand any of the text. :p

Ugh, really? I can't stand the video game cries; I think they sound so out-of-place in the modern games. They were fine in the 8-bit days, sure, but hearing old Game Boy screeches and beeps coming from a Wii game is completely unacceptable.

Hear hear. The only Pokemon games I've bought this year are the side games; at this point, I don't think I could care less about the main series games.

I don't think you have to worry. These days, it's more a matter of "when" than a matter of "if." Especially when it comes to Pokemon.

The problem isn't with the video format; the problem is that Nintendo region locked the Wii. Which is ridiculous in this day and age, but that's a discussion for a different thread.

It's too bad Sceptile isn't in the game, but I think I'll buy it anyway.
