Hey guys, this is my first thread in the forum. I am not a fan of starting threads, but I felt the need to bring this up.

Do you think they would create some sort of "water pokeradar" in the Pokemon games later on? Or maybe just some way to "chain" Pokemon in the water or inside the mountains.

I really want to capture some shiny Pokemon like Feebas or Clefairy with a similar way as chaining Pokemon with the Pokeradar in the grass. The fastest way would be AR but I wanna stay away from that. I want to feel what I feel when I see the shiny patch after I chain a Pokemon.

What do you think? Do you have some ideas on how they can make something like this?

I know that ideas won't make a difference, but I would like to hear your opinion on this.

Thank you!

Well, with the RNG, you can get a Shiny of Any non-Legendary Pokemon you want...that's how I got my Shiny Mantine.

But, it's not for everyone, and it's an involved process.

Though a Pokeradar for the water would be nice, I would perfer they didn't. The Pokeradar in DP make some Pokemon seem less special if you find it shiny randomly (like say a Starly or Shinx), though it does have its advantages, for people who have never had luck finding a random shiny before. I like that some pokemon still have to be found by luck for their shiny counterparts.

You are probably right, but what if that special Pokemon has a personality that doesn't benefit it. I think the Pokeradar is good because it boosts the chances of finding a shiny Pokemon, and you can "engineer" your shiny by using Synchronize. And besides, it is fair and legal, not like AR.

I have only seen 3 shiny Pokemon without the Pokeradar: Budew, Hippowdon, and Haunter. I found Budew in the Safari Zone and ran away. I captured Hippowdon, and Haunter killed itself with Curse. So I just have one shiny that I captured randomly and I treasure it, but I think it also feels nice when you see that shiny patch after hours of chaining.

I treasure all my shinies because they are the product of my effort and patience.

It would be interesting, but I agree with the 2nd post above me. Plus more additions to games will feel weird.. It's hard to explain, but it won't feel like a pokemon game anymore. Plus in HGSS, you'll be able to get the red gyarados so there's a shiny that lives in the water for ya ^^

Getting that shiny Gyarados in HGSS will be like the one that I got over the GTS once. Laid out there on the table for you. It won't feel as special. I thought adding more things to the game just adds to their innovation. I wouldn't mind seeing something more different than the pokeradar in HGSS. Just as long as it is innovative, as I said.

Well, I wouldn't like a water pokeradar if it was just another pokeradar that worked in the water. They could always add that on to the existing pokeradar so that it worked on land and sea.

I would however, see justification in something different from the pokeradar that works on water. Maybe something that involves the fishing rod, where you have to cast your rod in different directions to keep the chain going. I don't know how the specifics could work, but I'd like something different from the regular pokeradar for the water. It'd be an alternative for some shinies for people who couldn't do the regular chaining process.

I also felt this way before... I always wanted a Shiny Tentacool since it's my fav looking Shiny Pokemon to date... I've also tried finding a Tentacool that's not in English language so I could use the Matsuda Method. And it'll be much easier to find use a Pokeradar in the Water than to just hope the Matsuda Method will work...

But then again, I already got a Shiny Tentacool, so now I don't care as much. But having a Pokeradar that works in the Water or Caves? Why not? Give the fans what they want! After all, the DS prints money! XD

Well I thought about it and since water can't wriggle about, would you just see a splash and surf over to that spot? But then since water could be all around you, how would you know what area the water pokeradar is working in?

I'm ambivalent about this issue. Agreed I would like something like this because getting a shiny Feebas, Magikarp, Dratini and others would be cool, but I do think they would make these pokemon a little less special.

I personally don't think we'll see anything like this...

The problem with a Pokéradar for water would be that there aren't that many Pokémon species to chain.

Most bodies of water are stuffed to the gills with Tentacool or Psyduck...

Now a Pokéradar that works in caves...
