Pokerus: a question

My friend and I were strating a new game on our emerald (don't ask why)
but we wanted johto starters. So we made some eggs, mine a totodile, hers a cyndiquil. When her hatched, she had a pokemon in her party that she wanted to heal, and when she went to the pokemon center, her cyndiquil had pokerus!! Which leads to my question:

Can a pokemon that has just hatched have pokerus? Her cyndiquil only battled 1 other pokemon, but what are the chances.
 
i think the chances of getting pokerus are very low!
I've been playing pokemon since it first came out, and if i wasn't my sister was, and we never got pokerus, thats how rare it is... But if you 'made' some eggs, you mean you hacked or something? because if you used a gameshark or something, the chances would become higher, i would imagine.
 
I don't own a AR, so it happened by chance. Now all of her pokemon on her games have pokerus until it wears off, but Iwould still like to know if pokerus can appear in a newly hatched pokemon.

Pokerus is a virus that affects some pokemon. When you battle, the EV's apparently double in value, making it easier to raise pokemon. The chances are a little lower then a shiny appearing, but its harder to get because you have no idea if the wild pokemon has it, so you could run away from the pokemon.
 
If you do catch a pokemon with pokerus, how do you find out? Will one of the nurses at a Pokemon Center tell you?
 
Yes, she will give you a full pledge speach. I saw it with my friend. Pictures of the speach are on serebii in game mechanices under pokerus

Little off-topic but the expression you're thinking of is "full-fledged". Just thought you'd like to know.
 
i don't consider it rare... i was catching unkowns(don't ask why) and caught like 19 unkowns with that freakin cool pokerus(note: it wears off... and spreads!!! :party:)

Just because you got it doesn't mean it's not rare. It's rarer than shinies, of course, people hold less value on it in trades so it probably spreads through wifi pretty quickly.
