(I posted this in the "Status" thread, but I now realize that was probably the wrong spot to put such a question as it doesn't pertain much to my "status" in the game.)

I got a Feebas in a trade yesterday and it was infected with the PokeRus (I know all about it and gotten it on the older gen games) and I've been trying to spread it. Normally, it spreads really easily and I've never had a problem. But, first of all, do PokeRus' in D/P appear as status conditions? Because mine is a little nonchalaunt face next to the pokemon's sprite (maybe that means it's not spreadable anymore?). Has anyone actually successfully spread a 'Rus yet? I tried hatching eggs while having the affected pokemon in the party, etc and nothing is working.

The face means it's not contagious anymore. It's only contagious for a day or so, and you can tell when it is because on the Pokémon's first summary screen will be a purple box that says "PkRs" or something like that. Unfortunately if the Feebas is the only infected Pokémon you have, and it's got the face, then it's not contagious anymore.

You can keep the disease contagious by putting an infected and contagious Pokémon in a box, because it doesn't gain immunity there. When you want to infect a new Pokémon, simply take the contagious one out of the box and get into some battles while it's in your team, and it will eventually infect your other party members. After they're infected, put the designated disease spreader back in the box.

There is already a PokéRus thread here, by the way.
