So, this comes from a desire for some simple, direct RPing, and my irritation that Yu-Gi-Oh Tag Force 6 is still unannounced internationally.

Poketopia: TAG FORCE
Introduction:
Unlike my other RPs, there is no grand, over-arching plot here. In this RP, we return to the heart of Pokemon: pure, simple battling. On the island of Poketopia, trainers of every class and station have been invited to enter the Tag Force Cup. Your goal? Simply to find a partner--any partner--and be the best double battler you can be.
Gameplay:
Famous trainers from all around the world have been invited to the Tag Force Cup, including Gym Leaders, Pokemon Professors, Elite Four members, and so on. With so many trainers, the sole unique concept of the Tag Force Cup comes into play: partner up with one of them, with a new partner every day. May the best duo win.
Every three days real-time is equivalent to one in-game day. Though you can have any number of Pokemon, you must form a party of only three at the start of the in-game day. In addition, a list of available NPC partners will be posted, along with three of their Pokemon. Then, it's first come, first served: whoever meets that NPC in-game first partners with that NPC for the rest of the in-game day. The sole rule here, as mentioned above, is that you cannot have the same partner two in-game days in a row.
From there, all you do is battle the other players and their partners, in exciting double battles. At the end of every in-game day, three players receive a relationship bonus with their partner of the day: the one player who won the most battles, and the two players who worked best with their partner (i.e., who RPed their NPC partner the best). The two best duos are determined by a panel of three judges--the GM and two chosen players. A high relationship bonus with certain partners may unlock stronger Pokemon for that partner, or even secret partners.
Lastly, every fifth in-game day (after twelve days real-time) is a Tournament day. After forming their partnerships for the day, a single-elimination tournament will be set up for all the players. The winner receives a higher than normal relationship bonus, and possibly other rewards.

Partners:
The list of partners is divided into two sections: normal, and secret. Normal partners are unmarked, and may be partnered with anyone. Secret partners have their names underlined, and cannot be partnered with, unless you meet the requirement next to their name (e.g., Champion Red - requires relationship score of 4 with Blue Oak).
In addition, some partners may have a fourth, italicized Pokemon in their party, in addition to their standard three. If you have a relationship score of at least four with that person, you may switch out one of their three Pokemon with that fourth at the start of the day.

Rules:
- Follow all BMGf rules. This includes the obvious ones: be respectful, no spamming, etc.
- Be descriptive. Short posts make for a boring RP. Aim for at least three sentences, maybe even a paragraph.
- Keep OOC to a minimum. Any major discussion should be here, in the sign-up thread. Any OOC in the start-up should be game-oriented.
- No god-modding. Defeating everything effortlessly and solving every problem instantly makes for a very boring RP. Losses can be just as effective RPing tools as victories; if a battle drags on too long because neither side wants to lose, the GM might end it forcibly in a draw.
- Don’t control other players’ characters. This is simply proper procedure in any RP.
- Listen to the GM. I’m here to keep gameplay going and ensure things don’t go out of control.
- Read the rules and background information. They’re here for a reason. Reading the entire first post makes gameplay much smoother.
