I didn't see any topic for this, which surprised me some considering it's a little bit of a major thing. If a thread like this has already been created, I give my deepest apologizes for my noob-ness.

So anyway, what are your thoughts on the PokéWalker? At first I didn't think much about it, but after reading more about it I became very excited about it. Being able to train one of my Pokemon when I'm going out is very appealing to me. I like that it is similar to the Pokemon Pikachu 2 toy, but unlike it the PokéWalker actually serves a purpose for the main games.

tl;dr basically I really hope that the PokéWalker gets a international release with HeartGold and SoulSilver.

What are your thoughts on the PokéWalker?

I highly doubt the PokéWalker would not get an international release, and I do find it an interesting toy, may I say?

One wonders what the PokéWalker gives other than the extra EXP. Will there be extra accessories, items, etc.?

I believe it also gives happiness points along with EXP points, and you can also buy items with the currency Watt (W) that can be transfered to HG/SS.

They always come up with cool, new features in Pokémon. Interesting feature, but that's about it. I don't really care about this PokéWalker device. I'm not going to use it anyways.

All we need then is the ability to purchase some useful items (TMs, maybe Rare Candies), and I bet it'd be a nice reward for walking x amount for your little pokémon.

... Then again, there are the some who cheat the pedometer, and just shake it up for events to happen (Like I used to do with my old Digivices. XD)

haha yeah I used to do that with my old Pokemon Pikachu device.
I lost it when I moved to my current house a few years ago. ;_; I miss it sometimes 'cause I think I could be a better trainer now. My Pikachu hated me 'cause I neglected it so often.

If it's international, it's just one more thing I take to college. If it's japan only, I don't care to much.

Sounds like a fun lil' item. Dont think I'll be using it much though, if it is international. Kinda embarresing, eh-heh ^^... My thoughts about it? I like it. I like anything they add that doesn't ruin their brilliant game-structure :)

I think it's awesome.

The only thing I dislike about it is that it's not in color.
They couldn't be bothered with color or at least 2000's-level graphics?

Game Freak likes to make cheap shit/ fact.

Yeah.

I personally of course waiting some more things about the pokewatch(and not only pokewarch)and i hope they will be

*facepalm*

Why is everyone still convinced that the Pokewalker is going to be Japan-only? I won't outline why it won't be in this thread, since I've done it on too many threads already.. just... *facepalm*

TPCI isn't stupid, and neither is NoA. It WILL get international release. There is no good reason, knowing Nintendo, why it won't.

Back on topic... It's pretty cool and it'll be nice, especially considering I enjoy taking long walks to relax.

Oh, if this thing gets a U.S. release, I'm SO getting it! Finally, I can actually have my Poké Ball on my belt, with my Typhlosion actually in it!

Game Freak is a company of geniuses. :ksmile:

Um, you know what's funny? I never thought of it that way. *nervous laugh*

It's pretty cool. I'd use it :p
The only thing i don't understand is does it use battery or does it come with a charger, use the DS charger?

I'll use it. I often go on long walks and bike rides, so giving my pokes some extra Exp would be a nice bonus.

I do wonder however, will your pokemon actually transfer to the pokewalker or will the experience and friendship points build up as you walk allowing you to transfer them to your game at a later point?

@ Lugnut:

I think one of the screenshots shows a pikachu being transferred to the pokewalker.

I think it's a really nice idea. I'm always walking around college or down town so it'll be really handy. It's not huge, but it's cute

I like the idea. It'll make me feel like a real trainer and has nifty retro looks. Plus, it helps in a Pokémon game. I can't wait for when I can carry around Nidoqueen in my pocket.
