:yahoo: i have heard about the new pokewalker that will be included with heartgold and soulsilver and was wondering what people's opinions on this were because i think it is cool but kind of enables cheating through the use of taping it to a fan and leaving the fan on all day for example, does anyone know if it will be like the daycare in terms of leveling up? willl it get EV's from being in the pokewalker?

Wait, taping it to a fan will work? If I get it, I won't do that though.

I walk home every day.

yeah there is a funny picture of it on google but it seems like it will make leveling up too easy if it includes giving pkmn EV's unlike the daycare

From what i heard, it will gain levels just like a daycare so no EVs.

nintendo hasn't released any info on it i think but does anyone know if you can choose what moves it learns immediately on the pokewalker or is that done when you transfer it back to your game

Well let's hope it ain't like the daycare when the poke learns a new move and it automatically gets in the moves roster...plus I hope there's a vibrate function for when you turn the sound off and the poke levels up :)

This will be amazing for how much I walk around my campus every day...import the pokemon to the walker the night before, grab it on my way out the next morning, and by the time I get back, it'll probably have gained a butt-ton of levels. Hope it's true.

I don't think taping it to a fan would actually work.

Sounds cool though, though I doubt I'll get one.

The PokeWalker brings back fond memories of Pokemon Pikachu 2... running around in circles in the food court while eating, and if anyone would ask, "I HAVE TO FEED PIKACHU!"

 Those were the days...

Oh wow... not only do we have a couple threads on this already (and this is in the wrong board) but this is also... a really old discussion.

But to answer your question, it only allows one level up per transfer.

This is the Pokewalker discussion thread.

To answer your inquiry about tapping though. The Pokewalker detects cheating. You can't tap it or shake it to get watts. You either have to simulate the pace of walking when you move it up and down or actually walk.
