This RP is the first of a series of three. It's based on the fanfic I'm currently writing, because I really like the all-out war aspect. So I decided to launch it as an RP too.

Ploooot
There were a small compliment of Legendary pokémon above Mt. Coronet. Rayquaza and Ho-Oh were the center of attention as they debated humanity. Latios, his sister Latias, Articuno and Moltres looked on.

There was a fire in Rayquaza’s eyes as he condemned humanity. Every curse, every foul wish towards the human race was spat out with utter contempt. He showed his disgust with the way humans had enslaved pokémon and used them as nothing but tools and amusement
Rayquaza’s furor finished when he gave his solution.
“Humanity needs to be wiped out from this world.”
Ho-oh retorted. He gave every achievement of their kind to come only with the help of humanity, and he reminded Rayquaza of just how happy many pokémon were with their trainers, and then there was still the most important point to be made.
“It is not your place to decide the future of humanity.”
Rayquaza flew into a rage, releasing a primal roar in the direction of Ho-Oh. Those with the pair quickly chose their alliances - Latios turned and stood at the other dragon’s side, whilst Moltres held his ground with Ho-Oh and Latias slowly edged away from the conflict entirely with Articuno. Ho-Oh stood his ground. Everything stood still for a second that seemed to last forever. The phoenixes charged directly into the the dragons to open the conflict, which ended in a nasty tangle of feathers and scales. Exactly as fast as the conflict began however, it finished as all parties dissipated away from a direct conflict.

The war has now been raging for a year, between the Pokémon Separatists, led by Rayquaza with Latios at his right hand. They consist of the downtrodden, the abused, those that have generally felt the arse-end of humanity. They stand to destroy the human race, the enemy that has enslaved them from day one of their existence. On the other side of the war stand the Loyalists, pokémon that stand to preserve their way of life as it is, for pokémon and humans alike, who are led by Ho-Oh and Moltres.

The war is not going well for the Loyalists. They have been pushed back to Sinnoh, and even in there they only have footholds in Veilstone, Pastoria and Sunyshore. The Wish-Maker is their last chance to save themselves and win this war, but that means the Separatists only have to stop them. Neither side can afford many to assign to finding the Wish-Maker, the Loyalists can't spare anyone who can hold their lines from the Separatists and the Separatists need to maintain their military superiority to the Loyalists or get pushed back. The few that can be spared are your player characters, as you chase down leads and the Wish-Maker itself.

Some Rules:
1. There is no restriction on post content as long as it does not break BMGf rules
2. Usual stuff, don't godmod, don't bunny and because there's two sides, don't use OOC knowledge.
3. You may have a character on each side of the war
4. This is more a suggestion than anything, but try to keep down on the tennising and other things that will pad out the postcount without adding to the plot. This sort of thing can tempt people to post without reading through and maybe miss something important.
5. No legendary pokémon may be used as a PC.

Signup sheet:
Name: Well, duh.
Gender:
Species: What pokemon are they?
Appearance: Give them something to define them from other members of their species.
Allegiance: Which side of the conflict are they on?
History: What drove them into the war? What convinced them to join the side they're on?
Personality: What are they like to be around?

My Sheets:
Gratia
Gender: Female
Species: Riolu
Appearance: Gratia has deep blue eyes not typical of a Riolu.
Allegiance: Loyalist
History: When Gratia hatched from an egg, she already belonged to a Trainer called Vivian. Vivian was a strange drifter of a trainer, taking battles with her pokémon across the world, but not really on the traditional pokémon journey, especially since she only had three pokémon - Gratia and her parents, Potest (Blaziken) and Arte (Lucario). Gratia was taught to fight by her parents, even being able to learn a fiery kick manoeuvre from her father. She was, for lack of a better word, happy. And then came the battle betweem the Legendary Pokémon. Whilst Vivian like most humans ran into hiding, Arte and Potest signed up for the Loyalists. They had originally planned to leave Gratia in care of Vivian in hiding, but she was adamant to come with them. Gratia is now the only pokémon in her family to survive the war.
Personality: Gratia is quite bubbly, and seems to be happy at most times. She is somewhat headstrong, and being only just old enough to fight, she can be reckless at times. Gratia is fast to make friends... but equally fast to lose them when she says something she'd regret if she'd thought first. Reminding her of her parents can and will often cause her great deals of pain.
'Blade'
Gender: Male
Species: Scyther
Appearance: Is shiny, having more vivid green skin and red where white would usually be.
Allegiance: Separatist
History: Blades hated his trainer from day one, since he refused to call him anything but 'Scyther'. He quickly found out that his trainer overworked him, battling with him more frequently than could do him any good and rarely taking trips to pokémon centres unless he had an entirely knocked out party. Furthermore, he would oftentimes abandon pokémon completely who couldn't keep up, although Blade himself was never a victim of this, it disgusted him. When the war between Loyalists and Separatists broke out, his trainer tried to force him to join the Loyalists. Blade killed him and ran to join the Separatist movement. Never having been given a name by his trainer, he didn't want to think of one for himself, so he simply took a moniker from his biology.
Personality: Blades lives srsbsns. Rarely smiles, cracks a joke or does something to make anyone else happy, always looking out for number one above all else. However, do does understand teamwork and will usually fit into a scouting role, being credit to team.

Oh this looks interesting. May I reserve a spot? I don't have the time to write up an application at the moment. I'll get it up as soon as I can.

Re: Pokéworld at War: Search for the Wish-Maker

Reserve, please? ^_^

Re: Pokéworld at War: Search for the Wish-Maker

Name: Kipp

Gender: Male

Species: Breloom

Appearance: Kipp wears bandage wrappings around his wrists, ankles, and some around his chest. He often wears a bandage on his nose; Kipp is known to be somewhat of a reckless person, so he gets bruises often.

Allegiance: Loyalist

History: When Kipp was a very young Shroomish, he was separated from his family. Lost, he stumbled through the forest trying to find his parents. However, fate didn't have the same plans in store. A large man in a white lab coat had found him alone in the forest. Kipp tried to run away, but the man had control of a pokemon. Kipp was an extremely inexperienced fighter and was easily subdued by the man's more experienced pokemon. The man threw a strange red ball at Kipp, and he was captured. When Kipp was let out of his confinement he was in a strange white room. The man he had seen earlier was there. He approached Kipp calmly and introduced himself as professor Birch. Birch took care of Kipp and let him play alongside the other pokemon he had possessed. However, eventually the time where new trainers arrived had come, and after goodbyes Kipp was put into the care of a new trainer named Jerald. Kipp and his new trainer were still very inexperienced, but they grew together. After every victory they got more experienced and their bond strengthened. Jerald and Kipp collected a party of pokemon and traveled the Hoenn region to test their strength again gym leaders.

However, rumors of the discontent among the legendaries spread among pokemon-kind. Kipp learned of a group dedicated to protecting their current way of life and the trainers. With heartfelt goodbyes, Kipp and Jerald had to split so that Kipp to defend the bond between humans and pokemon. A bond Kipp understood more then anything else. One of the things that gives Kipp hope is the thought of one day, reuniting with his trainer and defeating the elite 4 in a true test of their friendship.

Personality: He is quite energetic and peppy. It takes a lot to spoil Kipp's mood, and he often tries to inspire happiness in others around him. However, he is a determined fighter. He has a strong will, and it is not very likely that you will make him go down without a fight. However, he is a pretty naive person and can be very reckless. He is reckless with good intention in the very least.

(I'm thinking of creating a character for the Seperatist group as well, I just need more time to write it up.)

Re: Pokéworld at War: Search for the Wish-Maker

Blathers, Kipp is accepted and Valcarona, I'm saving you a spot.

Re: Pokéworld at War: Search for the Wish-Maker

Name: Ethan

Gender: Male

Species: Emolga

Appearance: Recon Emolga.png

Allegiance: Loyalist

History: Ethan used to live in a simple village, away from any conflict. He lived with his parents and his little sister, Sally. He had a girlfriend that he met at the age of fourteen, and started dating at the age of fifteen, she was a minccino named Mary. However, when war broke out, the village wanted to make their own group, called the "Neautralists", where they wouldn't fight for either side. But it failed when the Separatists came to the village. They announced that they would be taking pokemon from the village to fight in the war, and if they resisted, they would be killed by the Separatist forces. Mary was one of the many selected soldiers. However, Mary never fought in a battle before, and Ethan couldn't stand the thought of having his love be killed or killing someone. He took her place, and was sent to the frontline along with his father.

But when the Separatists saw his talent in agility (and took more notice to his dark coloring), he was selected for numerous Recon missions. But when Ethan became severley wounded and failed a mission, he was left to die in a forest. That was when a human boy found him, and the Emolga was healed. That was when Ethan realized that he was no longer one the Separatist's soldiers. He left the boy, (whom he thanked by giving the kid a sitrus berry, the only thing he could find) and returned to his village.

Upon returning home, he found the town burned to the ground, and everyone he knew was dead. His Mother, Sally, and Mary. While he and the other soldiers were gone, the village rebelled and they were killed. He vowed revenge upon the Separatists, and joined the Loyalists to get that revenge. But his Father on the other hand, is still being forced to fight for the Separatists.

Personality: After what Ethan has been through, he still retains most of his old personality. He treats everyone as if they were his family, and always uses the peaceful approach before going head-first into a fight. He is best in Recon missions and Aerial battles, for what he lacks in size he makes up in Electricity and Agility. Ever since he was young, he has always been very observant of his surroundings, and can easily tell the location of enemies just by looking at a tree's trunk. Most of the time he is friendly and helpful, but when in a battle or a mission, he is the silent and serious type.

Re: Pokéworld at War: Search for the Wish-Maker

Name: Lucelia

Gender: Female

Species: Jellicent

Appearance: Over her species natural crown she wears a golden crown she had taken off of one of the many ships she has sunk. She is also purple in colouration rather then the pink females usually are; she considers herself a 'noble breed'.

Allegiance: Seperatist

History: Lucelia was born a wild pokemon, and she stayed that way for all of her life. She appointed herself queen of a community of waters types and began giving them orders; she was too powerful for any of them to overthrow. Lucelia was a harsh queen, and when she wasn't happy about something, everyone suffered because of it. Lucelia ruled over her 'kingdom' for some time, and the pokemon there disliked her but were powerless to stop her.

However, one day a large cruise vessel was moving through her area. Lucelia watched as trash and other refuse fell from the deck of the ship and into her kingdom. It was bad enough that the humans would tresspass on her turf; now they are leaving their trash here too! Lucelia was furious with the humans. So furious in fact, she sunk the entire cruise ship. As the ship sunk into the depths of her corner of the ocean, she seen people getting in life rafts. Lucelia let them go, thinking they learned their lesson about polluting her ocean. But they continued. So she continued sinking their ships. She would make the sea-bed wreckages her throne rooms and completely disallow ships to pass through her waters if they hoped to remain afloat.

When Lucelia learned that a group of pokemon were banding together to gain control over the humans, Lucelia couldn't resist. She believed she could use her 'royal' position to immediately secure her place in a high rank, but she was appalled to find they treated her like an ordinary, uncivil minion. However, if they won't respect her for her loyalty, beauty, and grace, they would respect her for her wrath. She feels pretty confident that they now get the point.

Personality: On the surface Lucelia is a very elegant and calm person. However, she is used to getting her own way and won't easily accept any way other then her own. Her temper is tremendous, and she is often described as spoiled due to how she considers herself 'royalty among commoners'. She is extremely fierce if she doesn't get her own way, and she won't tolerate those who don't agree with her. However, she admires the legendaries such as Rayquaza and others, so she is very loyal to them despite her nature. She works because she likes them... and because she might get a high position if she works hard enough.

No problem Umbra, you've got a spot. Valcarona, Blathers both of your characters are accepted.

Name
Valor

Gender
Male

Species
Gallade

Appearance
Valor can be set apart from any other Gallade by the metal ID tags we always wears around his neck which read his name, species, trainer and Pokemon ID number. He often wears a pair of black sunglasses fitted for Pokemon as well.

Allegiance
Loyalist

History
Valor was born a seldom-seen Johto Ralts, living a well-sheltered life around Route 34 until he eventually found, to his surprise, an unknown Kirlia along the same route. The young Ralts befriended this Kirlia, and soon met a boy who owned the Kirlia as her Pokemon trainer. The friendship between the Ralts and the boy grew stronger, and eventually the Ralts allowed Stewart, the Kirlia's trainer, to train him as well. As Stewart he trained the Ralts in Pokemon battles throughout Goldenrod city and neighboring areas the boy named him "Valor" upon his evolution into a Gallade. Valor found that his life had vastly improved since he left the wild, and his love for Stewart came with his unquestioning loyalty. It was a loyalty which was, in no way, abused either. Stewart treated both Pokemon with care, even going as far as to refuse a battle if they were too fatigued (often to Valor's chagrin) and always ensuring that he looked out for their welfare.

When the tensions between humans and Pokemon boiled over and war broke out, Stewart tried running into hiding with his family, as well as a grand majority of humanity. He managed to escape an attack from a powerful Hydregion, but only because it was held at bay by Valor and the Gardevoir he had trained with for years, Aegis. Despite being both significantly weak and inexperienced in comparison to the Hydregion, the clockwork coordination between the two Pokemon allowed them to defeat the dragon. However, they both became separated from each other as they were from their trainer, and Valor was tired and injured from the fight. Accidentally finding himself in a battle he cannot win with more angry Pokemon, Valor was spared further harm by a group of loyalists. Valor joined the loyalists in their endeavor to preserve the relationship between humans and Pokemon, vowing he will do whatever it takes to assist his trainer in the same goal.

Personality
Valor is known for having a tendency to be brash and headstrong, rarely taking consequences of his actions seriously into account. He's very combative, and likes to take anything he can as challenge. Valor also has developed a preference to being in charge. He is steadfastly determined to be viewed as a leader, and has a way of being overzealous about his leadership. Despite his flaws he is not driven by personal glory, and his concern for anyone he feels remotely responsible for is completely genuine, though it may be hard to notice its presence.

Name
Aegis

Gender
Female

Species
Gardevoir

Appearance
Aegis usually tries to be seen wearing a navy blue scarf around her neck. Additionally her eyes are a light blue color, whereas an average Gardevoir's eyes are red.

Allegiance
Separatist

History
Aegis previously lived in the marshes around Pastoria city when she was a Kirlia, wandering about alone and completely self-sufficient. The Kirlia's solitary lifestyle carried the consequence of lonelliness however, so she was more willing to interact with those who wild Pokemon did not dare approach. Sensing his mentality was a friendly one, the Kirlia reached out to a boy who frequently appeared in the marshes, and the two became good friends. Eventually, after much forethought, the Kirlia decided she had no reason to live alone in the marsh anymore, and instead hoped to live with the boy who she had come to develop a strong bond with. Thus, she became a Pokemon owned by a boy named Stewart, the two of whom were inseparable. As his first Pokemon, Stewart trained his Kirlia named "Aegis" to be a supporting and healing Pokemon for the rest of the Pokemon team he planned to form. When the second member of this Pokemon team became a Ralts who Aegis befriended at Route 34 near Stewart's new home, they spent their entire time training together. As a result, the pair formed a devastating duo in Pokemon battles, having perfect coordination in their attacks and maneuvers.

When the war between the separatist and loyalist Pokemon began, Aegis helped her trainer escape into hiding by fighting a powerful Hydregion alongside her partner, the Ralts from Route 34 who had evolved into a Gallade. The two managed to defeat the Hydregion but were both injured separated from each other in the process, a situation which proved dire for Aegis as she was captured by a few Separatist Pokemon in her vulnerable state. After blacking out for a few hours, she came to not among Separatist guards, but healers who had restored her to near-perfect health. While she recovered among the separatists, Aegis grew sympathetic towards the their cause, hearing many stories of neglect and cruel abuse by the hands of humans. Coming to the conclusion that the separatist cause was just, Aegis officially made the decision to join their forces once she had recovered.

Personality
Though she does not doubt that the separatists should see the changes they desire, Aegis does not condone the violent means by which they shall be achieved, and hopes that conflict with humanity may be resolved in a way which doesn't involve their complete eradication. Consequently, her mood is often sullen in contrast to the bitter anger which most separatist Pokemon feel for the humans and loyalist Pokemon. Aegis also tends to be rather quiet and spends much of her time alone, though this is not because of her brooding as most assume. While her early life was plagued with loneliness that she sought to correct, she found solace in Stewart and Valor despite them being her only friends. Rather than battling or participating in activities with other Pokemon as Valor often would, Aegis enjoyed the arts much more. She preferred watching performances of music and plays with Stewart, and she even attempted to read with the help of her trainer with some, albeit minimal success.

(I did a little experimenting with this part. Not just the part where a Pokemon learns how to read a few human words, but especially the part where a separatist Pokemon doesn't wish to see all humans killed. If separatists are so devoted to the notion of destroying humanity that a member who does not wish for them to all die is implausible, please let me know.)

I like the interesting character dynamic we have going on here. Especially between Lucelia and Aegis; I sense some friction that might arise between their conflicting personalities.

As long as you're going to fight their fight with them, neither Rayquaza nor Latios are going to ask questions about your intent. Some of the more fanatical members won't like you much though.

Oh, and since I nearly forgot to mention it at all, both your characters are accepted.

Yeah, me too. I can see Gratia and Valor quickly becoming either fast friends or the kind of allies that work together with their teeth tightly clenched since they're both so headstrong. Kipp's going to find the both of them a lovely stumbling block for the whole 'violence isn't always necessary' thing either way.

Well I'm glad to hear that. A character whose motives as an antagonist are conflicted with those of most others is what I was working at in an attempt to make things more interesting. I'm not usually very good at maintaining more than one character, which is why my Gallade's personality is pretty typical of just about every Gallade I've ever done. That being said, I'm glad you think both characters will work out nicely.

Re: Pokéworld at War: Search for the Wish-Maker

Right, I'm going to start this in exactly one week from now. By then I'll have remembered how to do mentions :p

Re: Pokéworld at War: Search for the Wish-Maker

Name: Rex
Gender: Male
Species: Kadabra
Appearance: (Picture in sig.) Taller than most other Kadabra, and wears a hat and a red neckerchief.
Allegiance: Cares for neither, (if i had to choose it would be a touch of Separatist)
History: Rex has tried to remain out of the war, much to everyones dismay. He doesnt overly care about the humans, since he has only ever had one trainer, who perished due to the war. His family disowned him as a young abra, and he was rescued from danger by the boy. It was when The war broke out, that a group of rogue separatists were running through a forest, the group consisting of several Ditto's. Rex put up the fight of his life, taking on 6 of them, but they had transformed into a bunch of Venasaur and began to go crazy. 3 solarbeams hit his trainer direct, whilst he managed to deflect the other 3 away. His trainer crumpled to the floor, when Kadabra blew into a psychic Rage, throwing deadly psychic energy in all directions. They transformed into fearows and flew off with the body...

Rex has an unparalelled rage, but it is rarely seen. As a result of his past, he only gets involved with things when there is no-one else to do it.

Personality: Rex is a quiet, consoled pokemon. Always thinking, Always planning... Evaluating every situation, to make sure he was prepared for everything. He struggled to trust people, but once he felt that they trusted him, he felt the need to defend them to the death. A loyal friend, once gained.

Re: Pokéworld at War: Search for the Wish-Maker

It all chacks out, although I'm going to have to ask you to actually choose a side, because I don't really have anything for neutrality. Sorry.

Re: Pokéworld at War: Search for the Wish-Maker

Just a note, despite the RP starting signups will remain open for now (there is a certain point at which it will be impossible to accept new characters, but that's a way off right now.)
