I know this isn't really a topic for a Pokemon forum.

But I personally think this is a very important story.

Of course, while the British media focus on Lewis Hamilton's first victory, which they have every right to do so, the F1 world wishes however were with BMW Sauber's Polish star, Robert Kubica. The Pole crashed heavily into the barrier during a safety car period after having a minor collision with Jarno Trulli.

The Pole survived and has been released from Hospital today with only a sprained ankle.

Uhh....and?

I fail to see why you're posting this, other than to prop up either a coworker or a favorite F1 driver.

Well, I think point of this story is, there were many complaints against safety standards made by FIA. But now, those safety standards saved Kubica's live. If this crash happend five years ago, he definately were in much worser condition. And ten yers ago, he most likely were dead. So, that's the point of this story.

The alternate point of this story is, will this become one of the miracles credited to John-Paul II in his canonization process? :p After all, it's a known fact that the Poles in particular and the catholics in general are somewhat eager to call him Saint-John-Paul (or will he be Saint Karol?)

(The driver reportedly had a picture of the former pope in his helmet).

If it does get so attributed, would that be the first case of a canon miracle being seen across the world at the moment it happened? :-D
